my bad thats right and this was the first full alblum they came out but the other was and ep which was the first material they released i guess as demos to get noticed or something
Yeah, and the first version of Back For More is on the EP. I love it, but always wished the production was as good as the later albums. The songs are great (You Think You're Tough, Walkin' The Dog, Tell The World, etc), but it would've been cool to hear them remixed/remastered.
haha this confuses alot of people out of the cellar was not the first alblum it was actually a 4 or 5 track self titles alblum had a rat and a picture of a girls legs wearing fishnets and red heels

How do you do those little "squeals" like the one at 1:16? I believe Edie Van Halen uses them a lot and they were big in the eighties, but I can't see how they're done.
You kinda choke up on the pick and angle it so your thumb and pick hit the string together, making the harmonic. Takes some practice finding the right spots, but it sounds awesome when you nail them!
One Of The Best Albums To Come Out Of The 80's..Its Amazing How Every Song Was Kick Ass..But There Where Some Songs That Didnt Get The Credit They Deserved Like The Morning After, And Scene Of The Crime
Wow Dude, What EMG Bridge Humbucker is That, the 81? or 85? Whatever You're Using It Actually Works Suprisingly Well for a Modern Sounding Ratt N' Roll' Type Shred Tone! Thanks For Posting All This, I Always Wondered how "Youre In Trouble" was Played, you Make it look easy, Thanks!
Awesome playing! I gotta get this tab book to learn some more RATT. I have the best of but it doesn't have "The Morning After" or "I'm Insane" and those sound bad ass to play.
The best RATT album for sure and they are such an underrated glam band. "Invasion of Your Privacy" and "Detonator" are my second and third favorite albums of mine by them. Kick-ass work and i'm glad you down tuned for Lack of Communication.
Great job. I always wondered if Robin Crosby really wrote these tunes, cause they are ingeniously written and quite complex.... (no disrespect intended).
well, there is a .rar file of the complete tab book(Out Of The Cellar)available on the net, if you do a search.... and it's free. so rock on!!! Nice job, btw, giantrobot9000 sounds good, and fun to play too!
chit I remember when I could play that whole album like that!.....I can remember it,but I can't now.Sux when you get older you forget more songs than you'll ever learn again...Hahaha....But seriously dude, nice job and keep shreddin!
Dude, that's really cool you belted out the entire album in one video. I like the quick drop tuning for Lack of Communication. This album has some really awesome riffs. You should post something similar for Dancing Undercover. Great job!
thanks for the reply man. also, will the stiletto sound very good at lower volumes with the power cut? i am new to tube amps. btw, are those the kirk hammet emgs, i was considering getting that set for my strat to beef it up?
Yeah, the KH-20 setup. I like them, but I do miss having that out-of-phase single coil tone between the bridge and middle pickup in 2nd position. It sounds really good in the 4th position between the neck and middle, though. I use that and just the bridge humbucker most of the time.
The Stiletto sounds great at all volumes, but the louder you crank it, the better it gets for gain. You'll be fine with a pedal, though.
great tone man. i am thinking about checking out a mesa stiletto deuce. does the trident have sufficient gain? i am into old school metal/ 70s,80s. the tone you get in the vid sounds really good but would you recommend it over say a dual rec roadster?
Thanks. The Trident does seem to need a little extra push to get really saturated tones. I've never had it really cranked, though. A Dual Rectifier is gonna have more gain right away, but I think a Stiletto with a pedal will give you a more authentic Marshall-type gain.
hell yeah man! great job playing these classic riffs.
i wonder who wrote the main riffs for each of these songs, crosby or demartini? or were they mainly collaborations? no doubt warren was a much more gifted soloist, but making up riffs is different.
I think it was a combination of the two. Crosby came up with stuff like Lack Of Communication and Drive Me Crazy, for example. Warren's riffs were usually more involved, like Lay It Down and The Morning After. If you look at who wrote what song, when you see Robbin's name it usually means he wrote the riff, and a lot of the time the songs that he solos in were his. He was definitely no slouch with riffs. If you listen to a Ratt album, pan the channels left or right. You can hear who's doing what.
you really rock man!
what emg's are those pickups you have on that strat?

whats the tuning? on i'm insane? eflat r standard?
Roc20084u 11 months ago
@Roc20084u
I think E flat, although when they would tune down to D, it was in standard with the 6th string dropped to D.

I noticed that the riff to Scene of the Crime was taken by Slash for Sweet Child o' Mine.
He changed it by detuning his guitar thus it had a thicker but slower sound.
