  • Personally don't do Dimes. I just do pennies and nickels.

  • wow thats too bad can't blame you for trying, believe it or not but i actually found a 58 and 64 dime in a small batch of change of about 4 dollars.

  • I heard the government was having staff at a few locations checking for just the same thing, so my guess is it will get harder to find silver coins in the future....Good Ol Uncle Sam....

  • Looks like you did well. I have sorted through thousands and thousands of dollars of half dollars over the years for not a single find. If I found what you found I would definitely do it again.

  • @gumby511 they look nice

    real nice

  • All that money wasted for nothing. You do know that it is easier to buy those coin rolls from the bank then it is to get the bank to actually take them back from you. Bet they made it very very hard on you.

  • @jbarba Money wasted? What do you mean? Banks have to pay for armored truck services to bring coin to their bank or accumulate it on their own. Bringing the coin to a bank would be something they welcome unless you are bringing 10 cases etc. they did not make it hard on me at all, no questions were asked...What are you getting at?

  • @jbarba just go in and say i like to deposit 500 dollar and poor a shit load of dimes on their counter

  • that 79 proof dime was a good find

  • i would like to let u know thaat 1979 is not silver

  • @ana9111 Did I say it was silver? All I said was it was a 1979 proof 'S' dime.....

  • Not really worth the effort... I lost out worse with half dollars..

  • 4 out of 5 thousand's not that bad, dude. Coulda came out with 0.

  • @IMIattReviews I was referring to the coins featured in my video, not coins in general.

  • Those look like standing liberties in good condition. Yes slim for 5000 dimes but nice nonetheless. What did you do with all the dimes after?

  • I would like to point out that the only silver dimes are Canadian. That is because there are a lot of silver hunters out there that have it in their mind that if it is not 1964 and older, it is not silver were in fact Canada produced 80% silver coins until 1967 and every some 50% silver ones in 1968.

  • Well, that's $10 you didnt have before.... Dimes are heavily looked through though because they are readily available. You should try Kennedy halves if you havent already.

  • "Would I do it again? Hummm Maybe.."

  • wat is an s proof dime?

  • I feel your pain. I recently bought a $100 box of US nickels. After sorting though them I found 1 silver war nickel.....

I don't know for sure but I THINK those machines that count your coins throw silver out, at least on the dimes and quarters. I know I have a friend who found a silver quarter that got thrown out when he cashed some coins in at coin star.

So if a person sees it thrown out that works there what are they more than likely going to do?

  • what do you do with the silver dimes?

  • Total waste of time. LOL.

  • That American dime looks shiny!!! Look at the mintmark under the date, if it says S then it's silver. The S stands for San francisco mint and they only produced silver proof. Look at the rim if they don't have a copper edge then for sure it's silver.

  • Wow, how unlucky....once I got 2 silver dimes from 1 roll!! :)

  • Keep doing it, better the silver ends up in your hands then the banksters

  • Do you take the dimes back to the bank? Cash or deposit? Can you switch for another box?

  • "Would I do it again?"

Why the heck not? Yeah, it's only 4 silver dimes but your net is better than some people. I recently went through 8000 dimes and found precisely nothing. I say clean out that bank while you still can.

  • Wow dude, how long did that take you?

  • My bank rolls come in clear wrappers... Much faster.

  • What is cool about that 1979s proof is that it's a type 2! It will be an "impaired proof" since it is circulated now, but how cool that it's not a type 1. Good find in change!

  • /pages/Silver-Liberation-Army-SLA-4-star/187889517922691

Click like, it call the SLA. on facebook.

  • Thas 1979 S could be silver, im not sure back then San francisco stop minting coins for circulation but continue to issue proof like silver coins for collectors, i had a 1992 half dollar S and its really good condition. But i suggest to go to your bullion dealer, the one that i go to sells junk canadian silver coins pre 1967 per dollar value, you can get 10 dimes for around 20 bucks or so

  • now how much do you think the silver dimes are worth. i think maby 100 dollars. idk, a friend does this and i always though you loose money not gain

  • Bravo... I managed to find a double strike and two double die lincoln cents while searching through rolls of pennies.

But I also found about $25 worth of copper lincoln cents (pre 1982) in the $35 worth i searchd through. And I still had more than $20 in 97.5% zinc pennies left over to spend or donate to charity and write off on my taxes.

Honestly people in canada should just hold on to any pre 1982 nickels and pre 1997 pennies. All are worth 2+ times their face value in metals.

  • The mint are wise to whats happening and stealing the last remnants of real money from the US people. It happened here after WWI when the bankers insisted on payment for munitions etc would be made with Brirish silver coinage. They debased the coins to 50% silver, they took the rest after WWII. We are stuck now with cupro nickel and wait for it....copper plated steel, yes we have been reduced to using steel washers as money. Stop consuming and BUY SILVER, break the bastard bankers.

  • 1979 is not a keydate its Pre1964

  • @SilvaLiberationFront Uhh....I clearly stated in the video it was a 1979 proof "s" dime. When did I say it was silver?

  • @RyanB0011 uhh... actually u didnt specify wut u thought it was. Only that your jaw dropped and right after talking about silver. you failed to mention that it was or wasn't. So clearly you were not clear. and if your looking for silver its not much of a find. And Besides i was stating a Fact, not a question. just saying.

  • @SilvaLiberationFront It may not be key date, buts its still proof which raises the value.

  • @SilvaLiberationFront -- Yeah -- RyanB0011 was up front with his front, Silva Liberation Front .........

  • @SilvaLiberationFront Actually that's not quite true. A CLEAR s in that date in Proof carries an ebay premium of x3to4. Compare clear s to filled s on an eBay search and see. I can't tell which your is.

  • I went to the bank and got just one box of dimes and found 4 silver dimes out of it. I'm going to try my luck with quarters next time.

  • Where do you expect to spend your precious metal? If the currency is worthless, factories and stores will close. There is no where near enough for 300 million to live off the land, so your gold will be just as worthless as the currency. Food and ammo are what you will need, not money with nowhere to spend it. get real and good luck.

  • The value of silver and gold is not reliant on any currency. They are money, currencies are units of trade that represent money. Show me one time where the financial system of the world collapsed and the value of gold and silver went with it. You can't, because it hasn't.

  • @polevaultrockstr All of what you say is true. But my question remains...do you want a box of metal, or an M-16?

  • @jdesmo4 I'd personally like both, but recommend the gun with a good amount of ammo first. No amount of food or money will save you if someone kills you. As for the m-16, id rather something more along the lines of a FAL or something with a bit more reliability. Not really interested in cleaning my gun or worrying about it jamming every 200 rounds. What good will a gun do you if you have no money of food? Planning on just killing others that are better prepared than you because you have a gun?

  • I bet you like to watch the paint dry when you paint the grass green!

  • I can't believe people still go roll hunting. It's such a collosal waste of time when you consider how much profit you earn per hour ... not even counting gas and the extra time it takes roll everything back up. It's the same as someone thats addicted to playing slot machines at casinos. You can tell them time and time again that in the long run it's a losing proposition, but that instant gratification the few times they win makes up for long term losses I guess.

  • @spamllpitdept so when the price of silver sky rockets and someone is fetching upwards of $108 for a half dollar, will you still think this is a losing proposition? Silver to $300 is all but guaranteed, try looking back at history. What about the farmer who makes little to nothing but then sees his wealth increase 10 fold because people want what he has? Its the same thing with precious metals.

  • I had 2500 dime and 20 were silver WOOO

  • Bud not all this Dimes are Silver ?!Nickelcrap i do think !!!

  • @dennie6666 Uh....what? The only coin that is not silver is the US silver proof dime.

  • @dennie6666 those "silver" dimes that you think you found are all Canadian dimes. Check a book somewhere, they are not silver.

  • @jdesmo4 pre-1968 canadian dimes were 80% silver

  • its not "proof" when your handling it.

    you must be canadian. eh?

  • @palehorsepalerider Huh? Of course it's a proof coin. It's not like I'm smudging my fingers all over the mirror surface, I'm handling its edges.

  • @RyanB0011 It was proof its just some basterd took it out of its mintset and spent it

  • @RyanB0011 what do you do once you've found those 5 coins?

replace them? and give it straight back to the teller?

  • @finnsia I have been using silvercoinhunt(dot)com for a week now. They have some pretty good rolls, got a couple of 90% halves.

  • @augustinba1989 No, you didn't answer my question. Say there's 100 coins and 4 of which were half silver. Then what would you do with the 96? Put in 4 more and give it back while getting back the same amount of money as given? Or with extra fees?

  • @palehorsepalerider He must be France ore frome Italy ore better Bulgari ore Yugo !!!

  • @palehorsepalerider Gretting from Deutschland to friend from Canadian !!!

  • hey can you give me some advice on how to do this, i live in hamilton. how do they give you all those coins?

  • Not bad. Ill take it!

  • ITS LIKE FREE MONEY!!!!

  • @KeshaIsHot808 Lol or a very very very very cheap price.

  • Your video inspired me to roll hunt! Thanks!

  • The one thing I like about this hobby is it cost nothing. I mean you don't loose any money and there is the chance to make money. All you do is change your paper money to coins. Pretty cool.

  • im buying 2 rolls of half dollars in 2 days hope i find atleast 1 40% silver if im luky a 90% silver =) never looked through halves b4 =0 wish me luck

  • im not into this hobby but i admire your devotion to it (whether it is for profit or kicks, or both haha) :) i dont know anything about coins and this stuff but the coin at 1:14 is fucking awesome hahahaha

  • I found out that I would have to buy a $1000 boxes of the halves for the bank to order some......I don't have a $1000 to play with:(

  • well thats roughly 10 to 15 bucks, i wouldnt be doing that for a living but maybe as a passtime

  • my grandparents gave me an antique pig bank from like the 40s full of change i wasn't gonna break it but i dropped it in the car and it had very few pennies and nickels mostly old silver quarters and dimes very cool. i wish i hadn't dropped it. it was about 250.00 dollars face value but worth a lot more with the silver i got a dollar each for the dimes and 2 to 3 dollars each for quarters.

  • @Killinemdead1 you got ripped off

  • @Killinemdead1 and you very stupid for selling it.dimes are worth $2 and quarters over $5.you got ripped off,and its still gonna go way up.

  • I just went thru 100$ of quarters hoping to find a 1967 bobcat but didn`t find any...I found three 1968`s then tested them with a magnet but no luck they were 100% nickel. I don`t think I will do it again.

  • @Argenteconomie Quarters usually will yield nothing, they have already been heavily searched. You will probably find something in a case of dimes, perhaps 1 or 2 but its not really worth your time to make money, just a hobby.

  • @RyanB0011 man you got jipped, but still gotta love it, when i go to the bank i get $100 at a time, go through it , cash it at a different bank , to avoid the awkward dime for dime exchange..and just keep doing it over and over . in 700$ i found 16 silvers, including an MS 65 1957 silver .or i go to places like speedy cash, or insta loan they get ppl bringing in coins all the time and they are usually unchecked.(stolen) had good luck there. lots of foreign coins too but a hobby fore sure tho!

  • @Argenteconomie

seems you get roles, still "cleaned" by the banksters ;)

  • @Argenteconomie post 65 quarters are not nickle, they are a sandwich of nickle veneer over a copper alloy core. Simply look at the edge or if so inclined, read a book.

  • @jdesmo4 Our (canadian) post-1968 quarters were made of pure nickel, until 2000 now they are made of nickel-plated steel .

  • i got 18 silver halfs out of 2 boxes of halfs but most of the time i ither get none or 1 ever 1000 bucks spent on halfs

  • @imatelly check my vid,i was extremly lucky last week with $4 worth of halves.shocking

  • did better than me! i got 1 silver dime out of 6000...pennies.

  • is it easy to american coins in Canada?

  • I got 2 silver dimes today! 1954D 1964D today! from boxes thank you 4 inspiring me!

  • Comment removed

  • @davidlee110 silver content, however since making this video I have not even bothered roll hunting dimes anymore....I only roll hunt pennies and nickles. So far I have a collection of 2200 1981 and earlier nickles and 20lbs of 95% copper pennies.

  • @RyanB0011 i just started mines and already got 2 pounds.

  • Your in Canada ??

  • how do you know whether the coins are silver or not??

  • These people really make me mad!!!!

  • @paulypaulification who? speak

  • @paulypaulification These people who blab there mouth about a long kept secret make me mad.I can already see a serious decrease in my results. You can not make a living out of this anymore thanks to idiots like him.Hope grandpa don't see him at the bank one day.He would really like to snap this guys neck,LOL

  • You know why it's so hard to find silver now? It's because people like you post videos to YouTube for the whole world to see. The more coin roll hunters, the less silver for you and me. Get the picture?

  • where can u sell them?

  • Back as recently as 2007, it was not uncommon to find a dozen or so 40% silver 1965-1969 half dollars and usually a 90% half or two, but with silver the price it is now, dimes (and even nickels for the war nickels, worth about $1.10 each now) are the best to look for. Pennies still aren't worth much at all (even an Indian is usually worth less than a silver dime!) But I found over $250 face of 90% silver over a four-year period before I got a job, including a 1921-D Morgan and 1927 Peace dollar!

  • @pannoni1 difference is you can get copper pennies in huge numbers. instant return on investment every time.

  • my friend is unemployed i tryed to explane to him how to mine silver buy buying half dollar rolls from the bank....is it true coin shop will buy them at spot price?

  • @gasdorf I don't have any experience selling "junk silver" to coin shops however I'm quite sure they would buy them slightly under spot, probably not exactly at spot.

  • @RyanB0011 You could sell Halves on Ebay for spot or even better. Look up lots of 10 silver dimes or quarters. Those auctions do very well with the bidders.

  • @gasdorf junk silver coins nahh, they are only 90% anyways which is actually a lot different then 999 because you still have to refine it. they sell them for about .9 spot and buy around .8

  • That Proof Dime is still Proof.

  • i did the same, probably more

    found a wicked 1945 60 and a 61

    3 probably out of 10000

dont know if i should keep hunting. doesnt seem worth it...

maybe quarters? have you tried again? im on kitco YouPrintIStack,

    msg me

  • Nice finds! thats cool you found the proof! I bought a box of US dimes. Just peeked through the plastic and cheated and found a 1959. Going to run the rest through my sorter.

  • Nice finds, I always get a few per box. Sometimes even a Mercury, those are my favorites. But like goldencoinc57 said, keep it quiet. More silver for us!

  • Dude, you're shooting yourself in the foot. If everyone on youtube starts crh'ing, then soon enough the banks are gonna shut all of us down. Either they'll get tired of spending money to order coins or get tired of taking in large amounts of coins, I've lost half a dozen banks like that.

  • @goldencoin57 I haven't even gone back to the banks for coin roll hunting. This was the first time and.....the last time I decided to do this.

  • @goldencoin57 Not everyone who knows about coin roll hunting does it. They either do not have the funds, time, patience or dedication necessary for it. I could show and tell people about metal detecting for silver coins, but I assure you 999 out of 1000 people will not want to go around digging holes and working with the machine.

  • I went through $1000 in halfs and got nothing.

  • I was thinking you would not find anything. I have never ran across any of those dimes in my change so I would say that is not bad.

How much are the dimes worth?

  • @genesistwoeighteen $1.30USD each with the current price of silver.

  • nice job! keep looking!

  • you did ok. ecspicially that proof. What are the years one those canadians?

  • @gtfan7676 All four Canadian dimes were 1965s

  • Time spent better with a metal detector out on old elementary schools...lots of dimes silver and buffalos as lunches were 15 cents back then.

  • You always get 2 silver dimes or even one in a box. I think its on purpose. I never got more than 2 in a box.
