Michelle isnt getting either the hurt or the need for time out of what Danny is telling her because her mind has kind of shut down from fear. Just look at Dannys face when he says Please dont make this harder for me than it already is. His whole dilemma is shown right there on his face. He pointlessly asks why she didnt tell him before, both hurt because she didnt trust him & deeply needing back the time shes wasted. However, if she had, even as much as he felt for her at 1st sight, hed never have had the chance to get to know her like this, so he would be facing a different problem now.
