Actually, the FMG-9 is just a kit that fits over a Glock. Since the Glock has the seril number, its the one that is regulated as a firearm. The FMG-9 is simply a folding plastic stock, completely unregulated. If this is ever released as a production run, you could probably use it on a standard semi-auto Glock 17. Of course, then you would have to register it as an SBR.

you can legally own a machine gun. the reason most of us don't is because aside from the $200 ATF fee, there is a very lengthy and very in depth back ground check. not sure but i've been told that they also want to inspect where you intend to keep it stored (locked gun safe). i have no problem with the money or the inspection but you can't buy anything made after 1986 (last year of legal production for civilian purchase) and even a well used m16 is gonna set you back around $15,000.

When an amendment is passed they do not write the changes into the constitution. The Constitution (today) is exactly as it was when it was ratified in 1787.
Amendments can effectively change the Constitution, yes, but the Constitution itself cannot be changed. Otherwise it would have 27 Ammendments written on it.

Never needed to. I've watched plenty of them malfunction and I know plenty of guys personally that went back to gas impingement systems before LWRC uppers were commonplace. All I know is that MY AR runs fine.

Not trying to pick a fight with you but I'd also hate for some dumb ba*tard to go out and buy something that will land him in jail. Trust me, I build my own AR's and to get a barrel less than 16" without jumping through the hoops it has to have a permanently attached flash hider to bring the total to the legal 16". I tried to post links but it wouldn't post them. These facts are easily found online at the ATF site or type in "u.s. code, title 18, part I, chapter, sec. 921".

The new manufacture of machine guns or the conversion of semi auto weapons to full auto weapons that are transferable to individuals has been prohibited since May 19, 1986. All transferable machine guns that are available for sale to the general public must have been manufactured and registered prior to May 19, 1986. Furthermore, unless you are a police department or the U.S. Military, you are prohibited from converting a semi auto weapon to a full auto weapon otherwise known as a machinegun.

you can legally own a machine gun. the reason most of us don't is because aside from the $200 ATF fee, there is a very lengthy and very in depth back ground check. not sure but i've been told that they also want to inspect where you intend to keep it stored (locked gun safe). i have no problem with the money or the inspection but you can't buy anything made after 1986 (last year of legal production for civilian purchase) and even a well used m16 is gonna set you back around $15,000.

This person is ridiculous. You can't take that to the airport since the metal in the bullets and the magazine it self will trip off the metal detector. Even the x-ray machines will spot a Glock reciever and magazine.

Also, the right to bear arms is not in the Constitution like they said in this clip. It is in the Bill of Rights. Not trying to be a nit picker, just wanted to point that out.

However. Originally the BoR was going to be part of the Constitution. This was rejected by all of the delegates though. The reason being that the concept of the BoR was not unique to the US. The original text of the Constitution provided no enumerated rights for the people. Which was the point of the BoR.

I apoligize, but you are still wrong. The BoR are the first 10 ammendments of the Constitution. No, they were not in the first draft but they are still in the Constitution. Any right you receive from the BoR or the other 17 ammendments are your Constitutional Rights.

I understand the definition of the word "amend" however by its nature the Constitution [itself] cannot be altered at all which is why the Convention was disbanded after it was ratified, b/c the body that created it was the only thing that could edit it directly.
Besides the Constitution was ratified nearly 4 years before the BoR. So how could they be they same document?

Where do you get the idea that by its nature the Constitution connot be altered? Article V of THE Constitution lays down guidelines for altering it.
That would be the whole amendment thing. The BoR modified the original Constitution to include specific rights. The 27th Amendment was ratified over 200 years later and even it is part of the same document.

You will agree that the BoR and the Constitution are written on separate pieces of paper right? And that they were ratified nearly 4 years apart right? When an amendment is passed they do not write the changes into the constitution. The Constitution (today) is exactly as it was when it was ratified in 1787.
Amendments can effectively change the Constitution, yes, but the Constitution itself cannot be changed. Otherwise it would have 27 Ammendments written on it.
