  • Boy, I'd love to use this in an indie film I hope to make this summer. Sweet, sad, and so redolent of a sultry summer storm.

  • Paul, your talent knows no bounds. :)

  • play it again

    :)

  • This is absolutely lovely. They rhythm is wonderfully timed to the sounds outside your window and I couldn't imagine a more peaceful tune to go to sleep to.

  • doesn't need lyrics

  • Haunting. Love it.

You wouldn't happened to have written tablature for it, have you? :3

  • This helped me sleep when I've had insomnia.......so very relaxing! ♥♥

  • The mood and ambiance is perfect. Love the work. Nature made it perfect, or the other way around.

  • Excellent song, very well arranged!

  • I really love the frogs. All I get is stupid traffic. Also, Paul looks a bit sad in this video.

  • It's pretty... I like it :3

  • Moody and smooth. Where are you in the world? Love the summer sounds of frogs and crickets.

  • this is beautiful

  • Cats, guitars, engineering; I had to subscribe.

  • Ever tried a cat and guitar video? Just an idea.

  • One is in the works!!

  • Sounds good! Thanks for serenading us!

    Love the cat videos too!

  • Paul I love your guitar spots as much as the

    cat videos! Thanks

  • Paul is obviously a true man of all seasons, including rainy.

  • You are amazing!

  • I love you more than ever, Paul.

  • What a beautiful blend of sounds...thank you so much.

  • I can almost smell the rain...

  • Your an engineer, an expert on cats, and now a musician?!

  • Gee Paul, are you married? I think I'm in love!

  • Back off, he's mine! :p

  • Magical! What a neat "moment" to catch on video! Thanks!

  • I watched this video about twenty minutes ago, and I've been humming it since. I really like it a lot

  • Nice tune! The background music adds that nice little extra touch!

  • sounds nice

  • A Man that plays AND has cats. I'm in Love.

  • great strumming...love the backing group...

  • Wow, the Engineer's Guide to Cat and Stormy Blues! Any chance of getting an MP3 of this particular tune?

  • "Ode to the blue print" hehe

  • I just found your cats and you have a whole stream of sites...now thousands of people wish they could get to know you, and I am just one of them! Nice tune, deep thoughts...keep posting!

  • I loved how the background sounds go along so well with it!

  • Amazing song Paul. I don't suppose there is anyway you could make it and some of your other stuff (Hard time killing floor or anything similar that you may know)into a cd. I really like listening to them but it's not exactly easy since my work is usually no where near a computer.

  • Hay Paul your eng and cat is a hit with me.

we need to understand our relationsghip with these felines.

for some reason Im very atractive to this vedio. I feel the love you share with the cats. Im fucked. so this why I think your the best engineer ive ever care incontact with.

Ive got two felines that I love and enjoy thier company.

You put the video together . your the winner .

  • great song man, love the Engineer's Guide to Cats.

  • luv u man. do u usually get inspired the same time as Oscar does? lol

  • Paul! I didn't know you could play the geetar! Dude! AND - you sing! Weh-ul Mr. Multi-Talented! You make me laugh! lol See you on Sunday! *muah!*

  • Really enjoy your Engineer's Guide to Cats, and your other videos. And you also play a mean guitar. What's not to love? Thanks for sharing your talent and humor with all of us.

  • yes... very enviro happy :)

  • You are so cute!!!! Are you looking for a girlfriend from Indiana?

  • Of from Finland? ;)

  • really good song. I wish I was that good. Maybe one day.

  • Love it! The rain, the night sounds, and that beautiful soft guitar song. I'm sitting here humming along, while Jack sits in my lap adding his slow purr as an accompaniment. So nice.

  • you should put lyrics to this, I almost think some leadbellly style of vocals. anyway I think it rocks.

  • Im feeling slightly in love with you right now

  • me too

  • Nice work, Mr Klusman. You continue to be a talented individual (and an engineer!).

  • I have so missed hearing peepers. Mixed real nice with that little blues ditty.

  • lovely.

  • what tuning is this in?

  • Tuning is Dm

  • "it's in D Minor, which i always find is the saddest of all keys really. I don't know why but it makes people weep instantly to hear it."

  • By defintion the "Blues" are supposed to be sad or thoughtful, I guess, but this song doesn't make me feel sad. All this video needs is a "blue" light, and then it can be the "blues", colorwise, anyway...ha ha...

    :-)

  • It was a quote from Spinal Tap...

  • Thanks for telling me...I didn't know that. I've read about the Spinal Tap movie and know that the band, "Spinal Tap", is an "imaginary" band. The movie was supposed to be a spoof of a documentary about a real band, I think, but I have never seen it, so I guess I need to watch it sometime. Ha ha! Thanks for telling me though.

    :-)

  • That was hauntingly lovely, and the atmospheric background added a late summer evening feel that was so relaxing. Wonderful.

  • oh my gosh you play guitar and solve the rubiks cube too! us engineers gotta stick together (me engineer in training) but i would love to try and learn this song, i think i'll get started on that right now :P

  • This is beautiful, the rain inspires me too. I also like to go outside and play while the sun is setting.

  • Lets just say, I love your videos about your cats, but this is definitely something I needed to listen too. Been having a pretty rough past few days. Thanks for helping.

  • I live in Florida, and we have lovely summer rains, and I now think of this song when it rains.

  • Had to come back for more. Thanks for putting yourself out there for all to hear. I hope you will share more in the future.

  • You make me dream beautiful things from memories nearly forgotten. I feel in the mood to write.

  • It's a beautiful song.

  • I find myself coming back to this video every couple days. It's like a drug. lol I could sit there with my head in my hands and listen to it all day. Beautiful song.

  • As relaxing as a nice fat sleepy kitty...

  • looks like fun! good tune, Paul. the rain inspires me to play sometimes too.

  • Thanks, man! Hope to get as good as you some day!!

  • Very nice, very melancholy. I like the picardy third at the end.

What brand is your instrument? It has a nice tone (what I can tell with the audio quality as it is).

    Keep it up!

  • Cool XD

  • Beautiful. :)

  • That was so good dude! I'm really impressed... I guess I'll appreciate it even more with not lyrics. Just keep working on the guitar and you got yourself a great piece already!

Ps:No need to rush the cats and the engineering. Just be yourself :]

  • awesome.....i was suprised to see a more musical side to you, but it works.

  • Such a dynamic, talented guy! It's nice to experience the serious side of your creativity in complement to the silly. Your music is lovely as well. Keep having fun. We look forward to whatever you come up with next.

  • Verrrry nice. Perfect with the summer rain backdrop. :)

  • I had to come back for another listen. It's so peaceful, I just want to cuddle up in a blanket, sit in a rocking chair and watch the rain. You play beautiful music, Paul. That's for sure.

  • It may not need lyrics!

It's really good as it is.

  • It's good that you are doing other things than Cat videos. good stuff

  • MOAR CATS AND ENGINEERING!

    This wasnt bad tho :D

  • Yeah I know. I'm working on it. Had this guitar thing sitting around on my computer so I thought I'd post it.

  • beautiful, simply beautiful.

  • Love the music. Thanks for sharing. My cats and I were enjoying a nice snooziness and an oncoming storm.

  • Cool! nice feeling to it. //dan

  • The rain & frogs really make it. And I agree that it works just fine without lyrics.

  • 5 star even though no engineering or cats were involved.

  • I don't even have the words to describe this, Paul. It's beautiful. I find myself playing it over and over. You certainly have a talent there, my friend. Grab me a blanket and a nice warm rug and I could sit there all night listening to that sound.

  • Love it, I enjoy just jamming like this on my own too. Really enjoyed your rendition of Hard Time Killing Floor Blues, Skip James is great. Looking forward to your next.

  • Very nice ...

Ok, add me to the list of marriage proposals ... When you start working your way through the US, via your tour, stop off in Texas. Aside from the marriage thing, we could also use your engineering skills with the dust buster -- Kitty hair has impaired the device. =^..^=

  • "I gots me the kitty kat bluuuuues"

  • rain and chirping frogs are the only lyrics this song needs;-)

  • Even engineers get the blues, huh? Good job!

  • its such a beautiful song- I don't think it needs any lyrics- its very beautiful how it is.

  • Sweet music, thunder, frogs, rain falling. Makes me wistful.. You have a perfect touch for many things.

I guess the cats were sacked away, curled up, cozy?

I HAVE to pick up my banjo and learn to play again.

Don't be concerned about lyrics, the tune can stand by itself.

Thanks for sharing, stay it touch!

    Vennie

  • a new talent i didnt know u had.i enjoyed it

  • It's been raining for a week and a half here. x_x

    Nice song.

  • nicly done. 5/5

  • this makes me miss wichita. *sigh*

  • I've been gone from Wichita for 6 years and I only miss it when I remember the thunderstorms. :)

  • I love this. you're quite sexy, by the way.

  • Prrr...prrr..prr. All kitty cats will love this "tuna".

  • We got hit by the storm real bad here in Kansas City too

  • Interesting, thank you.

  • Very calming.

  • I like to play guitar but i never actualy learned how to play guitar notes off a staff. i know how to do it with other instruments. I should probably learn. anyway, great song adding lerics would be awsome. Also the title of this would make a great song name.

  • Cool and blue, has a good feel... Love the rain and the frogs...

  • Nice riff. You've kept that Robert Johnson feel while injecting a little modernism into it. Well done.

  • Wow, that was beautiful, man. For real. And with the thunder, frogs, and bugs in the back, it gives you gooseflesh to hear it. Really awesome, man. For a George Clooney-lookin dude. Haha!

  • Thanks Dudes! Hoping to add lyrics soon. Just need to get 'em done and wait for another storm.

  • Oh it's so lovely as is ... rain and frogs and lil' shadow beard and all ... I think it's just about perfect as is. But hey man, you want to add lyrics, you go right on ahead. You can do no wrong in my book.

Seriously. You're in Chicago, look me up.

  • That is awesome, I could listen to it all night. I love the thunder rumbling in the background. The whole atmosphere is very bayou.

  • Wonderful... for an engineer! Mwuhaha >=3

Ironic - it's muggy, stormy, dark, and rainy here aswell. Really sets the mood for tonight.

  • Very nice.

  • wow your great

    mimim

  • The engineer grew a beard. You are too cute!!
