  • true I am a cat person I had my Daisy, the 'Lassie' look-alike and I cannot wait to own another rough colle--the sweetness and loyalty.

  • I live in a apartment. Is fairly big for a apartment 5 rooms. Can I have a rough collie as a pet? ( I love outdoors and sports)

  • @Toxiop yes you can, i keeped a collie in a 3 room apartament for 15 years :D

  • @PinGsamY wow u didnt had any discipline problems? im sure u had some cuz collies are herding breed. But still fantastic though to keep in a 3-room apartment! Mine is 5

  • @Toxiop well not really, my dog is older than me xD but she was quiet and very loyal... and really smart :D

  • I will always have a Collie in my life. Right now I have two, Angel and Laddie

  • My Collie was great in obediance school, as long as I was the onedoing the

training - if the trainer tried it - forget it!!! They are stubborn, but very loyal!! :)

  • collies are also really good with other dogs.i have a pretty aggresive dog but all in all hes a loving dog hes a german sheperd doberman mix (kinda terrifing).we were out on a walk with him and we saw someone pass us walking his BEAUTIFULL rough collie.they played together and had alot of fun until we had to keep going.we werent sure if the other guys dog was a boy or girl but if it was a girl i think they were in love<3

  • They can "herd" small children into corners .... all i hear is "Your collie can keep your children in check ! FREE BABYSITTER !!!!!!!"

  • I have to remind my Collie who owns the mortgage. :)

  • I dont agree to what she said about the fur. The good thing about collies is acually that they don't lose hair. We used to have a Deutschdrahthaar/German shorthair pointer and a Collie and the pointer lost his short black hair everywhere while the collie never did. Grooming is a bit of a pain though if you wanna do it properly. It ususally took up to 2 hours every couple weeks to get him rid off all his whool underneath his coat. But if you wanna have a gentleman in form of a dog go for a collie

  • I had a blue merle collie. Her name was Snow Fly.

  • @CenturianRule So I can out you as a grammar Nazi AND a fatty?

When people change the conversation to grammar I know they have nothing intelligent to say.

(BTW: Usually my secretary checks my writing before I send it out. On YT I am on my own.)

  • @CenturianRule Its not a comment, its a question. This is a comment. "I bet your part of that 90%"

  • I have a collie, too .

and i reall love her, and other collies too .

she ever want to do all right, shes nice too everbody, shes the best dog, for beginners also for profis! t

  • Stubborn???? What an understatement. My two sable Roughs both seem to have selective hearing at times.

  • Beautiful dog!

  • eu tenho um cachorro desse

    ushushsuhs

  • hahaha my pup herds my little brother into corners P.S. its a collie

  • best dogs on the eartch

  • It's funny how everyone treats rough and smooth collies like they're separate breeds, lol.

  • Ive found these dogs to be really protective and violent at times

  • ugly face

  • I just got a purebred collie puppy!

  • @xTpux where did you get your puppy? thanks.

  • How could you not love a collie?

  • I love collies so much but none are like huskies

  • i want collie and i get a oitbull ;(

  • @cuinte8888 those are great dogs too.....make sure you socialize him well though. Its unfortunate pitbulls get such a bad rep, because some owners are negligent, and dont seem to care to properly train.

  • collies are beautiful dogs. are they easy to train off leash?

  • herding children... lol

  • We just got our 4 year old collie groomed yesterday, he thinks he looks pretty good!

You can see him in my video, Day in the Life of Lance

  • They are SO beautiful, I bet they need allot of grooming but I bet they're well worth it <33

  • they really are beautiful, but actually they do not have to be groomed as much as others think just brushed once a week, they don't shed as much as Golden retrievers and other breeds of dogs , even though the collie have more coat, and a female will shed more then a male but the male has more fur then the female the reason is the males coat never goes out of season, and collies only shed two times a years late spring and early fall,

  • @DeborahWilde Exactly right. People always ask me how much time I spend grooming. The don't believe me when I say about 21/2 hours per week.

  • i want a border collie so bad!

  • i have a sable collie and tri colour they dont shed much unless you groom them

  • yes collies really don't shed as much as everyone thinks , but if you brush they one time a week it will help, and they really only shed two times a years late spring and early fall, if you give your collie a bath one or two times a month that can help too, also fish oil will keep the coat healthy so that shedding is not a problem , as it might be in other breeds

  • my aunt has a boarder collie that herded my little brother into a corner kept nipping his fingers into a corner

  • My Collie isn't the least but stubborn, and she doesn't shed much at all. I may find a very tiny amount of her hair once in a a while.

  • Why are 90% of the professional dog breeding women (and men) out of shape? Doesn't walking their dogs keep them in better shape?

  • ahahhaha yeah!

  • @XCritonX Yea lol. I dunno thought. I think she's in ok shape for an older lady.

  • @XCritonX if you're really into dogs you'll always find a way to keep the animal fit, but stay lazy and fat at the same time!:D

  • @XCritonX Dogs are surrogate children. People who are not "mateable" often find a life with dogs in lieu of chlidren. Hence, those heavy breeders may be breeders because they are fat, and not fat because they have dogs.

  • @XCritonX Just cause they are all americans on these videos :D

  • I love all the dogs whatever their breed is.But the collie is the prince off all breed. He is a true aristocrate dog.

  • @hybiscus17 my collies, name was prince <3 he got cancer and had to put to sleep but was 10 years old

  • Collies are the greatest!!! I have two sable merle collies. Incredible breed!!

  • i have a collie and hes gonna be a dad

  • congrats

  • Nice video. My beautiful sable collie is on the couch, leaning on me as I type this. She is the nicest dog I have ever known.

My collie does not shed tin the house that much because I take her to a groomer once a month. I brush her every day plus give her a good quality dog food that keeps her coat and teeth in good condition.

  • would you advice this dog

  • how much do this cost

  • This is my type of dog (personality-wise), alongside the Chow Chow (also personality-wise) on my preferred breeds.

  • I used to have a collie. He was the best dog I ever owned. . .Out of all the many I've had, he was, by far, the smartest and sweetest. He didn't bark alot, but he made this really weird moaning noise that sort of reminded me of the noise my husky made. hehe

We got a pet goat after having him for a couple of years. It was SO funny to watch him try to herd the goat. Its sort of amazing how that kind of thing comes naturally for them.

I miss him so much. RIP buddy.

  • Beautiful dogs. My uncle had them when I was a kid. Heavy shedders, though. Be prepared to vacuum the carpet every day of the year with a collie in the house. That may be why they've lost some of their popularity since the days of Lassie.

  • My collie, Laddie, never shed a day in his life. I brushed his thick coat weekly but other than that he was so easy to care for. My friend's collies rarely shed either. They say females are more likely to shed.

  • True, if they are brushed frequently it helps and they don't shed as much as a German Shepherd. On the other hand, they do shed more than a Doberman Pinscher. I find it hard to believe that any Collie "never shed a day in his life." They are a very heavy-coated dog and some loss of hair around the house is inevitable.

  • It's funny, i'm not a Collie owner, I have Shelties, but I was amazed at how little my Shelties shed...eventhough their hair is thick and fluffy. I honestly don't brush my dogs at all, and they never shed, and their hair is really nice and shiney....but they're indoor dogs.

  • For some reason the "plush coated" breeds like Collies shed less than breeds like the German Shepherd. The Shiloh Shepherd breed has two coat types---"plush" coat similar to a Collie and a shorter coat identical to the GSD. Both shed but the plush coat variety are said to shed less.
