  • WWO, this guy is just a dinosaur. There's not a facepalm big enough to still be using this crap in this day in age. It was bad enough back then, when the only thing separating him from the countless other mediocre musicians was just patience to program all this garbage, but now? Sheesshh, just let it go dude, this is not coo at all, it's just kinda sad

  • @marviosantos And you are? Ohhh, right. A nobody. And he is Jean Michel Jarre. Check.

  • @JRCrowley Tidy response my friend. I was trying to think myself for a while of a nice and concise reply, with particular reference to the "mediocre musician" and "just kinda sad" bits. But then I thought "I just can't be arsed"... ;-)

  • @JRCrowley EXACTLY! Well said LOL:)

  • MOAR

  • is it me or is he actually lucky to have loads of gear but waas very conventional in his approach to music making? I mean I bet early Ultravox woudl have killed for all that gear and would have produced far more challenging work, not to mention Neu! for instance. And Numan got more out of a couple of Moogs than this guy ever did in terms of creativity. A great composer, for sure, but in terms of innovation he has always left me feeling very dissapointed given the technology at his disposal.

  • respect

  • Armin don't like this

  • all this hardware can now be replaced by one mac laptop

with few simulate software plugins :-)

  • @clubfun12

You may be able to use Cubase or some other utility but it wouldnt be the same as having the actual analog gear...not to mention none of those programs were around back then. I have Cubase and tons of plug-ins myself but I'll never be JMJ. Having the tools doesnt necessarily make anyone a pro like him by default.

  • @Nikkodemis ... you are right , it would never be possible to make todays music with all that old gear , it is a different world with similarities

  • @clubfun12 i call BS on that. never seen any of deadmau5's videos? hes got analog crap all over the place. having played with both "worlds", i would say that a digital studio recording analog synths gives the most possibilities and customization, and sounds that no VST can ever reproduce.

  • Damn you Jarre, using a Putney that cost around 8000$ for white noise, hehe, genius!

  • JMJ... What a legend!

OMG, the Arp2500, Moog mod and Mellotron, all there next to one another.

I want them, real ones... :o(

  • So, at 3:08, surely thats equinoxe?

  • then they took all of them instruments and shoved it into the computer

    and called it fruityloops.....not...hehe

impressive, all of them where working flawless, no ckrackling no static, no groundloops, he must have a technician maintaining them.

I am a tech, looking 4 a job like that,

  • jarre's toyses

  • I need six EMS Putney in order to start making wonderful music with sound FX! LOL

  • I would give both my arm's for a synth collection such as this one....

  • @bondbug73 Yet..what would You do with them when arms and hands are missing?? Jus' kidding.. I'd sell my Mom i Think..or a kidney.....

  • @diakrite Forgot to put 'F' in front of arms....got two farms....No really....I haven't :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @bondbug73 How would you play them?

  • @chrstman I wouldn't be able to as I won't have any arms to plug them in at the electricity mains.....

  • @bondbug73 and then? play with your feet? ;)

  • @bondbug73 should rather give both your legs and a kidney for it. that way you still have hands to twiddle knobs. just watch the alcohol intake!

  • @bondbug73 You wouldn't have any use for them, missing both of your arms...

  • @mrvesteraas You know...your right.

  • @bondbug73 ...and then You would have to use Your feet to play :D

  • @bondbug73 Then how would play them?

  • wtf!!! this guy has them all! in fucking multiples !!! WTFHWTFHWTFH!!!!!

  • Does anybody have a time machine ???

  • WTF? He has three aks "Because it has no memory" and he needs multiple patches

  • You could film Frankenstein in that room...

  • très intéressant, mais pour les français, la traduction laisse à désirer parfois...

  • At 2.35 he says the Moog Liberation was the first portable synth designed by Robert Moog. It is NOT true, the Liberation hasn't been designed by RM!

  • There are people who see 30 epic synths and a pioneer.

And there are people who are listening and hoping for 1 slip of the tongue.

    Well its your day!

In Holland we call that "Muggezifterij"

    Or is it?

Maybe not designed by Robert himself but by his wife, but the keytar was the first commercial portable keyboard (keytar) designed by Moog. Hanging an ARP 2600 with a strap around your neck isnt the same banana. 4:29

  • the old analogues Synthesizers are the best.

I love Jean michel and my old Synths...I want a AKS....

  • I love this guy, really old analog school.

  • Superb collection of synths and a legend taking us round them :)

What more can you ask for!!!!!

    10/10
