WWO, this guy is just a dinosaur. There's not a facepalm big enough to still be using this crap in this day in age. It was bad enough back then, when the only thing separating him from the countless other mediocre musicians was just patience to program all this garbage, but now? Sheesshh, just let it go dude, this is not coo at all, it's just kinda sad
@JRCrowley Tidy response my friend. I was trying to think myself for a while of a nice and concise reply, with particular reference to the "mediocre musician" and "just kinda sad" bits. But then I thought "I just can't be arsed"... ;-)
is it me or is he actually lucky to have loads of gear but waas very conventional in his approach to music making? I mean I bet early Ultravox woudl have killed for all that gear and would have produced far more challenging work, not to mention Neu! for instance. And Numan got more out of a couple of Moogs than this guy ever did in terms of creativity. A great composer, for sure, but in terms of innovation he has always left me feeling very dissapointed given the technology at his disposal.
You may be able to use Cubase or some other utility but it wouldnt be the same as having the actual analog gear...not to mention none of those programs were around back then. I have Cubase and tons of plug-ins myself but I'll never be JMJ. Having the tools doesnt necessarily make anyone a pro like him by default.
@clubfun12 i call BS on that. never seen any of deadmau5's videos? hes got analog crap all over the place. having played with both "worlds", i would say that a digital studio recording analog synths gives the most possibilities and customization, and sounds that no VST can ever reproduce.
There are people who see 30 epic synths and a pioneer.
And there are people who are listening and hoping for 1 slip of the tongue.
Well its your day!
In Holland we call that "Muggezifterij"
Or is it?
Maybe not designed by Robert himself but by his wife, but the keytar was the first commercial portable keyboard (keytar) designed by Moog. Hanging an ARP 2600 with a strap around your neck isnt the same banana. 4:29

@Nikkodemis ... you are right , it would never be possible to make todays music with all that old gear , it is a different world with similarities

impressive, all of them where working flawless, no ckrackling no static, no groundloops, he must have a technician maintaining them.

@bondbug73 should rather give both your legs and a kidney for it. that way you still have hands to twiddle knobs. just watch the alcohol intake!

At 2.35 he says the Moog Liberation was the first portable synth designed by Robert Moog. It is NOT true, the Liberation hasn't been designed by RM!
