@GhoulDMTeamInsanity no bro, dont use guitar pro. cause when you create a melody and put it in, and you keep listening to it over and over in guitar pro, the melody looses its speciality to you and it just becomes some ordinary piece of music played on virtual instruments that Can't replace a real one. use it once you're 100% sure about your guitar parts and use it sparingly. I'm speaking from what i felt. but then again it may depend from person to person!:) all the best with your band man:)

Bands like this make melodic death metal so it's less complicated so people in the mainstream can listen to it, but it also takes away the music's soul and meaning.
