Oh May the triple jems bless you Dev Anand.Eventhough you are not with us anymore physically you are in the deep haeart score of us..............May you born again among us as the well energitic hilarious handsome evergreen Dev Anand to enetertain some more generatins as you did since 1946.May your soul rest in peace Sir..................
RIP Dev saab...cant believe you took Indian Cinema from Black and White era to the color era and into 21st century..cant believe this is the time when India got Independence when Dev was star.
Kamini Kaushal passed her FA from Kinnaird College and as graduation classes were not held at that college at that time, she joined Government College (now university) where her father was a professor of chemistry. Dev Anand also graduated from the same college.
Lata and Kishore were both 19 then, Qasim Bhai. And I was thinking that in a manner of speaking, this scene is one of Lahore romance: Dev from Gov't College and Kamini Kaushal from Kinnaird College. Being from Lahore yourself, you can be proud of both. KK still acts in Indian TV dramas and is also celebrated as a doll maker.
I am so grateful to you 'kalakar67' for coming up with this song, which relates directly or indirectly to those figures of Indian Films, who have had tremendous influence in shaping my taste for quality music and quality acting, since my childhood.
First and foremost comes Lata Ji for reasons I have expressed on various channels. Then KhemchandParkash, whom I consider a trend setter in the composition of music that followed in golden era of 50-60's.And he did it amazingly in a short span.
He died unfortunately, when he was only 42 years of age.KCP had great influence on Naushad, who was his assistant in film 'Ghazi Salauddin' and later we all know the wonderful songs which Naushad composed.
Now the two towering figures of Indian Cinema--Devanand and Kamini Kaushal.I still feel fascinated to recap my earlier memories of the exquisitely artistic performance of their multiple roles in various films.
Thanks for taking me past in the golden period of my life!!
Only a few in the present generation seem to know that Khemchand Prakash was one of our greatest composers. The Kishore-Lata duet from this film, their first ever, is one of the all-time gems of movie music. And of course, the heavenly songs of Mahal, sung by Lataji and Rajkumari Dubey, rose to another level of KP artistry. Thank you,kalakar67.
@chamogaa I saw Ziddi back in my early teens and remember vividly that its direction was remarkable. The most engraving impression was carved by the song," chanda re ja re ja re." I remember another song marney ki duaen kuon mangon by Kishore but do not remember any Kishore -Lata duet? Kindly help me recall that. The beautiful comments by you and @imranzaidi have added to the joy of listening to this song. Thanks kalakar67.
@chamogaa Thanks for the prompt response, Vipan Bhai. I could immediately recollect the song though with faint memories of the film scene. Kishore must be hardly in his late teens when he sung it. Kaamni Koshal is so pretty looking, carrying an image of success in her style as an actress of those days. Great pleasure watching this additional forward. Thanks Vipan Bhai and kalakar, again.
