I don't buy it. This is far too easy for such a complex problem that is throughout our society. Scapegoating parents isn't going to solve the issue of childhood obesity. Deal with adult obesity so that we're not modeling such unhealthy behavior to our children.
As a culture we need to put down the smart phone, push away from the computer, and get active again. Learn to cook. Eat more vegetables, less fast food. Be sensible.

SECOND thing. stop messing with the ability of kids to PLAY outside (everything is illegal or don't do this or that now)
THEN you can start to "fully" blame parents. all sides have to come together. its not just the food we feed them its how we raise them and the physical activity they can DO and not all activity should be limited to PAID activities.
This video isn't intended for children, but instead for their parents who control everything that they eat. There are too many kids today that don't eat healthy home-cooked foods, but only eat at fast food or buffet-type restaurants. Today's generation of children are the first generation that will have a shorter life expectancy than that of their parents due to obesity. Seriously.
Allowing kids to be happy or have FUN is abuse. Kids should stay locked in cages fed a nutri-paste until they're old enough to make their own decisions.
And given how the government feels about people making their own decisions; that would be about 6 months after death.
Good enough now? Or am I still a bad parent for protecting my child from every damn thing under the sun (including the sun itself)?
I do believe that all governments do try to keep children with their parents. Social workers go in there several times to try to correct the situation before they take the child away. They send parents to classes on parenting and health. They send the kids to fat camps through out the US. Taking the kid away is a last resort. teaching your kid to be obese and enabling them to be so is also very wrong and these are skills they will carry with them forever
@RegTastic86 exactly what we need, fat kids in camps... put em all in camps!!!! no one tells you, that most foster parents are taking on the role so they can get easy money from the government, i know girls who have been raped in foster care, its actually quite common. my sister who was in foster care, was living with another foster child, who was being choked as punishment. some kids dont need to be taken, and no its not a last resort, some of the time its the first choice, even in no danger.
Do you think ripping a child from the only home they know, accusing their parents of child abuse because they gained weight, isn't child abuse in itself? What if that child turns out to have a disorder that makes them obese? Will you apologize for scarring them for life, having kidnapped them for something they can't control? Will you still belive it's not child abuse, when that child kills themselves from self-starvation. From being told they don't deserve a family cause they're fat.
What they're looking at is the parents over feeding their child purposely. I've seen children in that particular situation.
A lot of times though, they could accuse parents of abuse if the child is obese but they need real proof. Its a health risk and parents who do this to their child often don't really care. They teach their child food solves everything.
