This is a Xavante’s song of healing. The Xavante are Indians inhabitants of Mato Grosso state, in Brazil central. They’re called A’uwê Uptabi ("True people"), in the Xavante idiom. Normally, the Xavante Indians sing this and others healing songs for hours without stopping, dancing in a circle with the patient at the center of the wheel.
The Xavante believe that their ritual songs are passed down from ancestors in dreams. Thus, the composers are dreamers, literally. The singers of the song recorded in Sepultura’s Roots CD are Indians inhabitants of the village called Pimentel Barbosa, whose name in Xavante language is Eteniritipá, the oldest Xavante's village.
Southern Metallers hate this cd so I heard from a Pantera follower they say they don't like the indigenous Indo Indian/Asian influence me however I love this cd Roots but I would say that since I am about the Indo Indian/Asian philosophy of Paganism and don't like Pantera or the Southern philosophy of race all that race creed superiority and who is inferior ? I don’t hear that, I will be going down fighting (Ambush) now do as you masa tells you boy and bed down touch your toes perra

this isn't half that bad but it seems like this jam has like no end.the idea is great but it's kinda mediocre isntead of awesome and to the Max cavelera etc.roots still has 2/3 good songs from the 15 on it,defnitly a strange album and that i can apreciate.They go into the books as an inovative band i think, they are pretty inspiring i remember arise and beneath those where sick.
