the d-beam is the worst thing about this machine. i never use it on mine. the filter is bearable but that synth beam is soo annoying

The best usage of the D-beam is actually not as synth, but more so as base sound for effects and processed stuff. You can make kick-ass baselines with that D-beam synth, it's a matter of putting it to go use in a more creative way. Especially live it's a disaster playing something meaningful by just waving your hand, no matter how cool it looks. But really that's only 1/4 of what you can do with it, perhaps even less.

Cool, how does the 555 compare to say a MC909 for live performance? Could you do whole live set with just the 555? It looks like it can only have 32 samples loaded at once, is that a problem? Also whats the synth section like? Is it a VA or is it sample based?

i didin't use mc909!i think then whit sp-555 you can play a lot of time because you have 160 space for put the sample!i like DJFX,VOICETRASFORMER,BPMLOOPER­....IT is VA!
