@joealanouf This was the only solid "hit" Dees had. He released another single as a follow-up, "Dis-Gorilla" (just more of the same silliness, but the novelty was wearing off), which managed to make the chart the same year. In 1984, he released another album, which had a double-sided minor hit single, "Eat My Shorts"/'Get Nekked", which also made the chart, but quickly fell off.

Dees was much more popular as a morning drive DJ/comedian, than as a recording artist.

@stonerkid42o You had to be there. I could definitely see someone who didn't grow up with this, not thinking it's funny. Personally, I think it's so stupid, that it's funny, if that makes any sense. I was 10 years old when this came out, and I was MUCH more into AOR (now called Classic Rock) music, and I hated 99% of disco in general.

Yes, everybody was indeed doing the disco duck and having a hell of a lot of fun.

9th and 10th grade for me. Man the style back then was so much more flattering for women than today. The girls looked good!

Honestly, I can't judge how it was back then... I was only 2. :) But, I know that it was much better than today. I do remember the 80's from my childhood, and it was great... SO mucg better than the mess we have going on in today's world.
