Cafe racer is the closest thing to freedom on motorcycle movements: bikes and riders, not fashion victims and slaves of the marks. We are café racers and motorcycle enthusiasts, not biker clowns
Thank you all for your comments, the good ones and the not-so-good ones. Café racer is probably the most complete and authentic motorcycle movements, based on the classic simplicity, lightness, sporty and enhancement. The caféguy look is indifferent. You rule the motorycle, the motorcycle not rules you.
He has the cafe look down, cold! Maybe you would prefer he look like 90% of the riders out there: 1) Harley guy with bald spot and long hair/mustache/beard wearing leather vest or 2) crotch rocket punk wearing flashy leather jacket and helmet. I applaud his individual choice.
Yeah, and the pose at the end is f'ing classic!"The motorcycle doesn't rule you", well first of all, the motorcycle ALWAYS rules you, hard as me might try to tame the beast, we never rule it. Show me a video of you riding this thing so I don't continue to believe you are in fact a slave to fashion....
He's talking about finessing 35 horsepower (overestimate, surely) around a corner, and feeling like you are not on something that is a monster with its own will. We destroy the planet with our planned obsolescense manufacturing, throw it in the landfill because it's not the latest engineering. Do I need a new Fireblade to be cool? I think not. With the economy down and probably there to stay, nothing wrong with greasy and riding an old bike being cool.
You typed: find the compression point, and kick hard.
Well, perfect for (over)stressing your foot, and needlessly high-stressing your kickstart-system.
Way to go is: find compression point, press tru it slowely (here is where a compression releaser shows it's functionality) and right after the compression, THEN kick hard!
What you do then is: Rev up the flywheel, and let that do it's job. it's less stress for both your foot + engine.
Do you really have to say stuff like that. If the guy wants that thing on his bike then, he'll have it on there. BTW, your username is chimchiminey(Mary Poppins) and you're calling things gay?!?! ; ) Sorry, I couldn't resist. : )
Nice one nuttmeg, the whole point of a cafe racer is its individuality. You might not like the look chimchiminey but its his bike in a style he likes. Call in at the Ace Cafe sometime and see what I mean. Best be careful with the 'gay' comments though as you'd probably get your arse kicked all the way back home.
I think the bike would start easie, if you stop turning the throttle. every time you kick it over. Nice faring, looks like a Dunstall.

He's in Spain, man. Spain... Italy... they aren't afraid to do "cool" over there and I can't blame them. They can pull it off, lol.
Doing that in the states might make you a tool, but in Europe, it makes you're cool. I can't explain it, that's just how it is. :p

Read the vid posters comments under "About This Video", and you can clearly see he refers to it as a CB400SS (Honda) not a BMW.
