I used to hate the way I look, and now I just look at horrible comments on my looks as a test of my intelligence. I used to cut myself, yea, and I stopped about 2 years ago? I used to always wear a jacket to try to hide in, but now I don't. I say *F* all haters, because if you don't have anything nice to say keep it to yourself, because that only shows YOUR insecurites. I definitely feel self-esteem is a big issue. I for one have really low self-esteem. You know...it effects me on a big level. Its so bad that I don't even go to school like I'm suppose to because I can feel the ppl on the bus and in school buring holes in me. I mean theres days I feel beautiful, but most of the time it just prevents me to do the things I love. And I'm a big girl, I mean a BIG girl. I'm always the biggest girl out of any of my friends. So it makes it hard to feel beautiful.
I feel for the girls and women who have low self esteem, i have had two eating disorders, but if you are so unhealthy that you are obese, then it is a serious health issue and you can get extremely sick. and i agree with tenorbear60, but you can become healthy without having low self esteem. but i do love that you girls do uplift girls confidence.
Black people, its time to stop carrying all this excess weight. It is so unhealthy, and we are afflicted with high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease because of all the weight. Defending your weight as a choice to feel proud is commendable, but is going in the wrong direction. WE need to take better care of ourselves.
Obesity is harmful - period. A person cannot raise their low self-esteem treating their bodies so poorly.

It took me years to come out of the low self esteem and depression. I cut off all the negative people in my life...some of them were close friends and family. And also speaking negative of myself. We are beautiful in our own special way. We need to tap into our inner beauty, talents, anointing, whatever it is. Let your confidence shine through. Thats more attractive then looks anyway. You're an extremely strong person, and you do give people courage. I'm not a woman, but I do agree with you on the low self esteem issues. It's not only females though, it's males too. Despite everything else, you give me courage as well. You make me feel as if anything's possible. The fact that you can ignore all of these negative comments, and still be confident in yourself, is amazing. Beauty is something that comes from within, not from without, and you prove that to the world.

yay! congrats girl....i feel ya! i was in dance for 12 years and was always the big girl. this is a great message. today's view of society is so strewed. i have always been told i had a gorgeous face and i'm like what about the rest of me. i also got the same thing from people (including my parents when in dance)....your so brave. frankly, i'm sick of it. i am big and beautiful and healthy.

I was skinny as a kid but when puberty hit at like 11 yrs old I started keeping my weight and I was getting depressed with people calling me fat. I think it is a HUGE issue. I had self esteem problems for a long time. Then. I met the kind of friends who didn't care about my size or anything, they were just there for me. I used to hate the way I look, and now I just look at horrible comments on my looks as a test of my intelligence. I used to cut myself, yea, and I stopped about 2 years ago? I used to always wear a jacket to try to hide in, but now I don't. I say *F* all haters, because if you don't have anything nice to say keep it to yourself, because that only shows YOUR insecurites. I definitely feel self-esteem is a big issue. I for one have really low self-esteem. You know...it effects me on a big level. Its so bad that I don't even go to school like I'm suppose to because I can feel the ppl on the bus and in school buring holes in me. I mean theres days I feel beautiful, but most of the time it just prevents me to do the things I love. And I'm a big girl, I mean a BIG girl. I'm always the biggest girl out of any of my friends. So it makes it hard to feel beautiful.

I feel for the girls and women who have low self esteem, i have had two eating disorders, but if you are so unhealthy that you are obese, then it is a serious health issue and you can get extremely sick. and i agree with tenorbear60, but you can become healthy without having low self esteem. but i do love that you girls do uplift girls confidence.

Black people, its time to stop carrying all this excess weight. It is so unhealthy, and we are afflicted with high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease because of all the weight. Defending your weight as a choice to feel proud is commendable, but is going in the wrong direction. WE need to take better care of ourselves.
Obesity is harmful - period. A person cannot raise their low self-esteem treating their bodies so poorly.

It took me years to come out of the low self esteem and depression. I cut off all the negative people in my life...some of them were close friends and family. And also speaking negative of myself. We are beautiful in our own special way. We need to tap into our inner beauty, talents, anointing, whatever it is. Let your confidence shine through. Thats more attractive then looks anyway. I just wrote a big paper on this very issue.
In a study done by the Dove for Real Beauty Campaign they found that only 2% of women worldwide describe themselves as beautiful. We really need to widen our narrow view of what we believe is beautiful. We are REAL WOMEN, with stretch marks, pimples, frizzy hair, whatever.... we are BEAUTIFUL. No matter how big or small we are, no matter what shade our skin is.... everyone is beautiful. Keep it up ladies. :)

I think it is a HUGE issue. I had self esteem problems for a long time. Then. I met the kind of friends who didn't care about my size or anything, they were just there for me. Your videos heal me inside even more because it reminds me that I am not the ugliest, fattest person in the world. It reminds me that I shoud love myself and live my life to the fullest.
