  • Great video ......a must see.......

  • Great stuff....Also check out "The Snowdon Mountain Railway Paul Damian" on YouTube......It's great up there...

  • @quintabear, i live in north wales, not much goes on but so peaceful, snowdon gets quite foggy, so bring your nice weather, it is good in bangor aswel, evreything is much cheaper in bangor. Hope thus will encaurage you to

    Come.

  • We visited Wales in June2010 and I was thanked for bringing the good weather, not one day of rain in mid june. Unfortunately my visit was just in the south to connect with family but on my next visit I'll go north to snowdon and anglesy and there abouts.

If anyone is in my area then I'd recommmend the Mount Washington Cog Railroad, on the tallest mountain in north eastern Norh America. Last time that I hiked on mount Washington we took the train down and it was well worthh the ride!

  • This is a 'MUST' when you visit Wales.

    Best wishes

    Irene Grant-Jones nee OWEN 'Sopranoigj'

  • aww these trains are so little. I want one! ;)

  • This song is beautiful. And so is snowdon railway :D when i went up there last year on the train.. i saw the other train infront of us.. and when its in the distant its so pretty :D absolutely beautiful

  • We're gonna make it up Snowdon next time!!!!! You'll see......love this area!!!!Cheers!!!!

  • If you listen to "raise me up" it really suits this magnificent railway. but this song also suits it

  • I would like to take that train one day! Looks like a good trip. My Welsh friends have been kind to me.

  • This is a beautiful song, who is the performer? Snowdon Mountain Raiwlay, I just added another item to my bucket list. What is the best time of year to visit Wales? Thank you.

  • The song is 'I CAN'T FORGET MY WALES' by Lorraine King from a CD, 'Songs from the Celtic Land of Wales'. It is best to visit Wales just outside the school holiday times which are mid July to very early September. I would say late June or early July. JFW

  • We have just come home from a holiday in Bala (also in wales). We went up Snowdon yesterday but could only go as far as Rocky Vally (5/8 of the way up the mountain). It was still as spectacular and the railway fascinated me. we are going late in the year so w can go the full way next year!

  • That last bit doesn't look like the Snowdon Mountain Railway. Everything is different, the engines, the rolling stock, and the track.

  • Correct. The last few shots were of the adjacent, Llanberis Lake Railway. It runs through from a little station near the terminus of the SMR then across past the Slate Museum to run alongside the Llanberis Lake. JFW.

  • Those are some ferocious grades! incidentally, you guys have a way cool National Anthem.

  • Nice vid, we holidayed in Llanberis last summer (07) & it's a stunning area. We went on the SMR but unfortunately we couldn't go all the way to the summit because of the works. Next time I visit I wanna go to the top, I might even hike if I'm feelin fit :)

  • the coach's are built for the railway they used to bo open but wur converted to closed so they've been there very long same as the trains all very old stuff

  • If you want to download this song. GO TO - DOWNLOAD FACTOR LORRAINE KING - on web. Cost about £1.50p sterling.

  • wow llanberis looks like an awesome place

    it's in wales right?

but where in wales? i'd like to go there

  • Hi. Its just to the west of England, bordering the Irish Sea. JFW

  • Wish we could have done this, but we visited in November and it was closed. :(

  • It is rack only traction. A Victorian wonder. JFW

  • Definately!

  • lol the steam locos are from Thomas and Friends. is that one coach an ex Ffestiniog?

  • I am unaware of the Ffestinog coach. I think they are all originals purpose built for this railway. JFW

  • When we went on the railway, they said that all the trains and carridges were perpose built for the mountain railway. I also went on the Ffestiniog Railway and none of their coaches look like that, they are all walk through ones.
