  • Yeah I got my virgin pendolino box and once I tried to put one of the carriages back the end bit snapped of and broke the carrage, common Hornby you can do better than that!!

  • you are the best at describing trains. thanks for uploading and keep up the good work. lol

  • @dswear19 lol thanks!

  • @InterCity82 your welcome. lol have you or will you you probably be doing an opening of mallard or silver link? i am ordering them tonight and if you could give me some advising on them.

  • T'm a transformer but I don't turn into a car like those wretched auto bots.

    I turn into a loco,space shuttle and a decepticon.

I'm sick of carrying lord megatrons gang of decepticons.

if I don't carry them all over earth,I will be scraped

  • this is a very good train set

  • Dangerous? He should have a night out at my local town!!!

  • 4? oh yyyeeesssss 4!!!!!

  • is your website up yet

  • thats gordon from thomas and friends

  • @bigboy2013325 Actually Gordon in an LNER A1 (like Flying Scotsman) with some LMS-style modifications.

  • this one is hard to get now.

  • thats a wonderfullllllllllllllll set you got there.

  • have you got a eurostar?

If you have can you do an unboxing?

  • @00gaugerocks no, I don't plan to get one sorry.

  • @InterCity82 oh, ok

  • well she ran verry nicely I got to say

  • imagine if it was a boy. she i... im a by alread lol

  • 63000 viewer

  • what do you mean the wheels are flat ?

  • @toffie702 - flangeless wheels were sometimes used on long locomotives to help them get round corners.

  • i might get this set for christmas.

  • can you make video on her with lady patricia ?

    pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeasssssssssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeee

    thanks

    Rithik

  • How much u got this ?

  • Fantastic review, very detailed, nice track set up as well, great video overall.

I just uploaded a review of a Flying Scot Bachmann set from 1985-89 earlier, and I also own a blue version Royal Scot also from Bachmann, Unfortunately, the Blue Royal set is brand new, but engine is seized. I am in the market for just the engine if you or any viewers may have one spare you could part with.

I added you fav list, much too learn here no doubt, take care....

  • hey i was just watching your toy story train set videos just before this and looked up the price you said it was bout 70 pounds...

but guess what..........its not selling for 37.49 pounds

  • @bubbachub211 i was meant to say its now selling for 37.49 pounds sorry

  • Do yo know what coaches go on the flying scotsman? and if not do you know any that would look good?

  • @EP1CSR00MAGE - the Flying Scotsman typically ran with LNER teak coaches I think.

  • you should give er to me for the holidays. lololol :)

  • i just wanted to say tat i enjoy watching your reviews and believe you give fair rulings, i seen a lot of the trains you have and i absolutely fell in love with this set. the loco is stunningly gorgeous along with the tender and the coaches are a beautiful color with the loco's blue, it looks so smooth, i wish i can get it but it's expensive and shipping to the U.S.will kill me. I hope you love this train cause she is my absolute favorite

  • how much did this set cost??

  • @oogauge98 - I got it for about £120 I think or something like that.

  • i love the stanier tender a nd loco good vid thumbs up 5 star

  • u should try get the orient express by hornby

  • my little boy age three loves your site he will sut here for ages watching you speak. shame you havent got any thomas train though

  • @martynbrown1970 - hehe, brilliant. I'll do my best to keep all my vids swear free then! I do have some of the Thomas & Friends collection but not many. I tend to focus on real life trains.

  • do you know a hobby store in the UAE which sells Model Trains?

  • @cubeproduktion - I'm afraid not but Hornby are happy to mail overseas - as are Hattons of Liverpool.

  • where do ya get this set

  • @cyberkidmfb - I got it from Trdent Trains - but it might be possible to find it in a variety of model shops all over the UK.

  • @InterCity82 say, thanks!

  • I would get rid of the foam tray but keep the cardboard box for storage of track or transformers later on should the need arise.

  • how much?

  • @MrSignalmaster - £120 I think but I did get a good deal.

  • how much did you get the set for? and do you think £180 is a good price?

  • i don't like the power track because it get dirty easyer than the rest of the track and the power clips you can put nearly anywere on the layout

  • gordon from thomas the tank engine :)

  • Where do you get the railer/puter oner

  • @jogrmmdec - I can't remember to be honest - but they shall be on the upcoming IC82 website.

  • @jogrmmdec i think theres one in the eastern valieys express model but im not sure

  • Great review! It's really nice to look back at what the one I got would have looked like - I managed to get one on her own on eBay - and I've done her up a bit (painted handrails, crew, cab, smokebox door details etc.). A very interesting thing about this one is the cartazzi trailing truck, with flangeless wheels and a reduced central-driving wheel flange; on my layout I met a problem with some bends on gradients, but it was soon fixed. She's incredibly smooth though, as you say! =)

  • nice set

  • that (truck) as you call it is called a bogie

  • @DELTICDEMON122 - any swiveling frame of wheels underneath a locomotive or item of rolling stock can also be called a truck. As is typical with the English language, there are multiple names for essentially the same thing. :)

  • i think that you saying that it would be nice if the air vent opened sorry but hornby dont care about the train they just want the money now i know that there are some manufacturers that do a lot of detail but them trains cost a ton from delticdemon122.

  • dear intercity it has come to my attenion that you do not own a class 55 deltic i

personaly think that youy need to get your act together and buy one

from delticdemon122 ps love the set

  • Credit where credits due!

  • Amazing!!!!

  • @MrCriticOfAll - thanks!

  • Can u get this loco by it's self and if u can how much would it cost

  • @Liverpoolfcfever - The locomotive is a Princess Coronation class and you can easily get that class of locomotive right now, really easily. However, the 'City of Bristol' is exclusive to this set (as far as I know). (It may have come out a long time ago on its own but the quality won't be as good as this one and it will be hard to find).

  • Comment removed

  • Do you have the flying scotsman

  • @kayneshouse1 - No - it ran in the other half of the country to where I am basing my layout and so I need to keep the numbers of locos from other areas to a minimum - besides, everyone knows the Flying Scotsman, it's far too common and boring for me to look at and it gets far too much attention. I prefer to focus on the trains and sets that aren't quite as famous but just as good if not better.

  • @InterCity82 What loco would you recommend for a layout

  • @InterCity82 What is you best loco

  • hang on do you have two pendolinos

  • @Kojoe93 - no just 1

  • hey why is the pendolino in the dc sidings

  • @Kojoe93 - that's not the Pendolino, that's the Virgin Voyager Class 221 DMU

  • where did you get her from?

  • @GrandCentral00 - Trident Trains... they have a website

  • i whant one but i live far away frome the train shop

  • @fighter18337 - see if you can find it somewhere online?

  • nice,like her

  • thanks for telling me

  • How much did that cost you?

  • @manthanboeing - £130 or something I think

  • @InterCity82 why are all your engines female?

  • @yan2001123 - The pronoun "she" is sometimes used to refer to things which can contain people such as countries, ships, or vehicles, or when referring to certain other machines. If used, the terms she, her, and hers apply regardless of the entity's name - for example, "The U.S.S. John F. Kennedy (CVA-67) was laid down October 22, 1964. She was launched on April 1, 1967..."

  • why? don't you review somersetbelle

  • i'm might get that set

  • how do you afford them all? :)

  • @Rabbitboyful - no fags - no booze lol

  • do you use only one piece of power track to power each loop? or do you have a few power pieces of track around each loop?

  • @Hartsock91 - I have a controller going to each loop - connected via a section of power track

  • i got the same set

  • how many controllers do you have lol

  • @YTisawsum - 5 DC and 2 DCC

  • do you have the sisters city of lancaster or city of coventry

  • @danielpclark1 - not yet no :)

  • Do they still sell that set?

  • @LegoArtsProduction - yes! It's easy to find in lots of model shops around the country as it was quite expensive and didn't sell massively.

  • i love your railway man! its nice and large, the corners aren't too tight and its reliable.

  • @FergDaddy101 - thank you! :)

  • What do you do with all your trakmats that come with the sets - i'm thinking of buying a set instead of just buying track and locos. thanks for your advice :)

  • @trainsrus100 - I actually don't use the trackmats so most of them are recycled

  • how much is a railer?

  • @DelticFilms - about 80p :)

  • @InterCity82 thats cheap! might find one :D

  • Hi i managed to pick up this brand new from Modelzone in Croyden yesterday, it was priced up as 149.99 and i got on sale for 120.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!, what an impressive set, i am planning on rebuilding my model railway now i have moved house 8 monthes ago, so its great you get a decent amount of track, always glad of spare coaches and a handy little station, the loco is lovely and its i am guessing its Hornbys railroad standard line of models for this one because it lacks any superdetail

  • @hihat101 - I don't think it's either a Railroad model or a superdetail model. But what I do know is that for a model that comes in what is essentially a train set, it's very impressive.

  • i got myne for a great price £82!! and nothing wrong with it :D

  • were did you buy it from and for how much thanks sam

  • @samster412 - it came from an excellent shop called Trident Trains (search for them on Google, they have a website) and it was a bargain £130 instead of £180

  • I love the coaches

  • In O Scale, MTH made the Princess Coronation engines like that one in the set but it's called "Duchess of Atholl". They also made a set of blood & custard coaches to go with her which you have to buy seperately.

  • @Trainmaster189 - yes I need some of those coaches now! lol

  • If I wanted one of these in the US do u recommend somewhere I can order one online?

  • @Peppurr1 - Trident Trains an Hattons are both happy to mail all over the World.

  • shame trainset locos aren't as detailed as the ones you get seperately

  • @NodFlareon - well, yes, but if they were, the cost of the set would be higher - and possibly out of the price range of the people it's aimed at.

  • to bad ithas no spruning buffers trust me i go one

  • can i recommend that you have a look at the cornish pullman train set

  • @ilchyhammer - can be picked up for between £120 and £180 I think

  • when i had bought my pendolino i first had it on the floor and my dad kept asking me to put it back in the boxes but two couplings snaped. in the end i got it on base boards now and i got free spare couplings from the hornby helpline.

  • @123garryharry - I never recommend them be put back in the box. Never. If you must put them away, wrap them in something like bubble wrap and then place them in a big cardboard box or something.

  • i am gettin this for xmas i cant wait

  • What is your channel called

  • @themattyman3 - InterCity82

  • I HAD NEARLY GOT THIS until the model zone in newcatle had a sale

  • @tpe18509 - it's easily the best set I have

  • it looks like a great set nice video also

  • @tpe18509 - an incredible set - really incredible :)

  • I'd like the set too, oh, and can I just point out- the Stainiers, MK1S and LNER coaches all run on MK1 frames so it is really easy to add weights

  • @kiwitram - ahh right. I didn't know that - thanks!

  • thanks will now im going to have to buy it

  • @tomhelm1995 - haha, you won't be dissapointed

  • another great vid!

  • @edwardsweeney24 - thank you!

  • What is DCC exactly ?

  • @oricalcross - Digital Command Control, basically, controlling trains digitally. The power is always on - and the trains listen out for signals, telling them what to do.

  • Hornby really has rubbishy packaging for locos. I don't know why they can't embrace the plastic packaging like Bachmann has with locomotives. Hornby's already done it for some of their coach range in the last few years and for their locos back in the 80's.

  • @TestValleyRailway - my fav packaging is Heljan. Beautiful boxes - if Hornby changed to something similar it would be a lot better.

  • Don't recommend it to every body, I mean under 3 year olds, DISASTER!

  • @2009Buzza - lol. Well, no, not 3 year olds. But then I think it does say something like 7+ or 8+ on the box. So I assume people can think for themselves a tiny bit :D

  • do you already have this train or is this a new set you recently got beecuase

i thought do you have a train like this but not called City of Bristol

  • @Whizzer1 - I have had this set for a while, but was asked to review her anyway, so I did.

  • 4 coaches - great!!!

  • @MrJezza31 - yup! Not many sets with 4 nice coaches in!

  • it looks like a very good set :)

  • @loghead19 - it's the best set I have, easily :)

  • 5***S i really want to get that loco

  • @jaannetts16 - That exact loco? Or that class of loco?

  • @InterCity82 the exact loco

  • "Transformer" lol. Beautiful train, great set. 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!

  • @AC130scoobs - lol, at least someone picked up on that joke! :) Thanks for the comment!

  • iI love this set and even though iI don't have it I would do almost anything for it

  • @Henryfan3 - hehe, almost anything?! Well, she is seriously nice :)

  • nice train :D

  • @foxcell - thank you!

  • i forgot 2 say that i have 2 put her in the box because i have no space anywhere else.

  • @A4Express yeah i find that i use the boxes regularly and nothing bad has ever happened

  • @MrJezza31 - it's risky. I put A4 Falcon back in her box, and it was so tight that some of her detail snapped off. I will never recommend putting Hornby locos and rolling stock back into Hornby packaging like that used for the sets. It's much better to wrap the loco or coach/wagon up in a tea-towel and to place that in a normal box.

  • i got the royal scot set 4 christmas last year and we had 2 send it back twice. 1st time because the piston kept clicking out, and when we got it back we realised the chassis was wonky. also like you said the packaging is rubbish because the it's 2 tight and i nearly broke her because 1 elephant ear is under the polystyrene and the other is on top. it's especially bad because you can't see that with the tissue paper on. other than that she's ok i'd say.

  • @A4Express - yeah I agree - the packaging is naff, but at least the loco is good. (shame your one wasn't quite right)

  • Beautiful loco.

  • @djrobod - definitely :) thanks

  • Heh yeah after getting my first new set from Hornby in about... 16ish years (Picked up the City Industrial Set for quite a bargain price) I have to say the polostyrine packaging leaves alot to be desired, Once I took out the loco ect I definatly did not want to put her back in.

  • @ReyoNeutra - yes! :) I agree

  • lovely, would be great to have her but my layout will only be diesel.

  • @modelrailways - ahh ok - well mine is gonna be both

  • great, this is a very good stater set, i think anyway.

  • @itgamer100 - easily the most impressive set I have

  • Great video

  • @ipodwindow - thanks

  • Epic vid, keep 'em comin!

  • @IgotPMT - thanks, will do!

  • gd vid will gd set how much?

  • @cazy1395 - she was about £130 from Trident Trains in Nantwich. They have a website and are happy to mail sets and locos out to anywhere.

  • The set may be a beast, but so is the price. :(

  • @Femmenition it depends where you go, i got mine for £190 around February. well worth it, it's just a shame that more of the Duchesses didn't survive into preservation.

  • @capmodesty Yeah no kidding :P, Think I would hold off getting one of these untill I find space for a proper layout to be built in to get the most out of running her on it.
