Frieda the Basset Hound gets a peanut butter jar!

My bassets love PB! And for those of you harping on the nails... until you try to clip a bassets nails, keep quiet. Its not easy and if this cutie is anything like mine you gotta be careful because they jerk and you might cut the quicks, better to lean on the long side and do it a little bit at a time rather than rip them out!

My basset hated having his nails cut and they still looked very long even after they were cut. Some dogs have long quicks (the pink bits inside the nails!) and you have to be careful not to cut them.

I would like to say though, that I don't doubt you love your dog very much. That is a fine treat indeed and I love how he is trying to break it down with his back teeth to get at the PB at the bottom. Haha, so sweet.

I'm another on the nail trimming band wagon. I have a friend with a wire haired jack russell and everytime I go over I have to ask him when he plans on getting the dog's nails trimmed. Soon enough I'm going to go over there and do it myself, the fact that it's his be damned. Her toes are already starting to bend because of the length and they get hooked over one another. His dog isn't taken on regular walks or simply just ample outdoor time, to help wear the nails down.

Even though Bassets are known to be the sweetest most affectionate of any dog breed, they can also be pretty clumsy and I would hate to be the victim of an excited Basset with claws like that! LoL Great video. :-)

lol!! my dog used to do this with ice cream pints! he'd stick his whole nose in it (he sometimes got stuck!!) and carry it off, chase it around the room when it got away.......adorable!! :)

Frieda is trying so hard to get to the bottom of that jar to finish off the peanut butter. That plastic when it cracks can be very sharp, it could poke her eye out. Be Careful. I like how Frieda barks when the phone rings. Cute dog, my Basset would like her. My Basset's name is Marko.

Does she never get walked on a path to wear her claws down as I have never seen claws like Frieds has and I have had Bassets all my life and also rescued quite a few and never have I seen any with such huge long claws!

That must be quite sore to walk on for her!
