Way too many lights for night, such as every window in every building being lit up, and the street lights are too bright, plaus just the buildings themselves, are too bright. All that extra visibility probably adds to the demands on your computer. I am making some models for NYC that are available for free downloads at the X-Plane forum.
I noticed some glitch while flying by the south of manhattan area, near the statue of liberty. When I fly by this area the aircraft starts a steep 3,000 fpm climb even on idle power. Has anyone experienced this?
the frame rate loss may be due to the extra lighting effects in the night mode. There are probably tons of lighting effects that are emphasised from the plane and possible scenery and water.
MegaScenery Earth Washington State bundle is at least 90% realistic. Costed me a bit over $100 (and that was w/ an unused bandwidth discount coupon), but wouldn't fly without it.
Am I the only one starting to find these vids boring? Hardly any talking and a pretty boring topic...what's so interesting about new york at night? Sure, for the first couple of shots its cool but it becomes repetitive
I tottally agree with you there most of the videos now are just repetitive and what hapened to the partner ship with Flightsim? Has thisjust suddenly ended like the Questions and Answers series and many more?
i think the drop in frame rate is because when you fly at night flight sim adds an extra layer over top of everything for the dark and light's. this means flight sim needs to load more data. i.e frame rate drop
in flight...go to options...(i think its) settings(at the bottom....then click display....then it will pause and open up a window...the first tab you see will have 2 sliders(target frame rate and texture resolution) move the texture resolution to the right as far as possible...the put the target frame rate and about 30-40...or more depending on how good ur comp is...then click "ok at the bottom...it will reload...and you have a nice detailed cockpit.
ohh...well...i never tried unlimited...my computer sucks so i have to keep stuff kinda low...but i hope that come christmas...ill have some new stuff...
fsx sucks in NY city there are no taxis and sh** man...
but fsx looks good on your pc still for fsx standard!
London Heathrow with max cars and stuff looks good especially when you are landing and just before the runway there are some cars and trains and it makes it look a hell more realistic...
well i cant say much about the big cities, but in fs9 the terrain of my neighborhood was terrible, however i was pleasently suprised with fsx, the ground topography is stellar, and the local lakes and major roadways match sattelite images!
i know FSX sure did a very nice job with Downtown Chicago. Since I live there, I know where every building is placed at. And FSX sure handled the designing 98.0% perfect.
can someone help me out? i knot this is off topic for this video but its kind of urgent. im trying to cruise in my 737-800 in fsx. im crusing at 25000 feet and the cruise speed of the 737 in the detail it said .785 mach so i put in .78 and it started sayign over speed???? please help
The issue about the cruising speed is cause when you are not flying at correct cruising altitude. The higher you get off of the ground, the higher the MACH speed. AKA Top mach speed at Flt lvl 240 is .73 mach, and at flt lvl 400 the top mach speed is .785. Hope this clears things up!!
It's becuae 25000 feet is too low to go .78 mach. If you want to go that fast then cruise on up to maybe 34000 FL340 or higher. Then you can go that fast.
Np, and thats a little wierd. Instead of dealing with mach, on Auto-Throuttle just use the default speeds. So instead of setting it to .78 Mach, then do maybe 500 Knots
cruise speed is .785 mach at altitude which is about 35000 ft. if you fly lower, then lets just say that the speed limit will be lower thus resulting in an overspeed warning.
Way too many lights for night, such as every window in every building being lit up, and the street lights are too bright, plaus just the buildings themselves, are too bright. It would probably be because of the lights in the building and the quantity of them.

I think the frame rates go down during the night because of lights you need more graphics to support just the nighttime lights.

on fsx when you set a target frame rate, it lags more than it does when its on unlimited.

frame rate drop reason:
1. fraps
2. graphic card
3. the game its self

LittleLuckk 2 years ago
The frame rate issue could be caused by the excissive lighting on buildings like the Empire State building in the area.
TheBoeing717 2 years ago
lower frame rates are a direct result of the higher texture size (due to color variation and difference) of the textures used by FSX at night
flyboy8492 2 years ago
I think you get less FPS at night because it needs to make all the lighting.
