  • what college do you attend for pursing your 2nd degree in nursing?

  • Just wanted to share with everyone that I took my boards last week and passed. I also got offered an ICU Nurse position. You guys can do this!!!

  • @menelus711 Congratulations!

  • Hi Okey4chy- you will need to do some research around where you live. That is the best way to find an accelerated program.

  • what school is this? l need to find a good school for accelerated nursing program, can anyone help?

  • Hi I'm enjoying your videos. I will comment more later cause I'm at work right now. Anyway, I'm thinking about applying for the accelerated program here in my state, but I was told by an advisor that the days are long once you get into the professional component. How long were you in class? I have to work at least a part-time job and I don't want to fail the courses because I'm stressed out. Do you work? Is it possible to work (maybe even a night job) and do the accelerated program? Thanks...

  • @aaaaaaaaaqqaaaaawhatevathatmeans.....You must have gotten fired by a filipino, or you didnt get the job and that person did. Maybe you should try googling "how to get a job" that might work for you! You seem very bitter, that's not healthy your gonna end up in this nurse ER if your not cured of the negitivity. @menelus711 God Bless You, good luck!

  • @loveisawesomealways Thanks :)

  • nursing is a lie. there is no nursing shortage and its a very abusive job.

  • Thank you for your videos! I had to subscribe. I'm in the process of applying to schools now.

  • @LanaBana2931 I am glad that they could help.

  • CAN i ASK HOW YOU ARE PAYING FOR SCHOOL WITHOUT WORKING ARE YOU JUST ON SCHOLARSHIPS/GRANTS

  • @Peyton380 Hi- I am paying with loans and scholarships.

  • @Peyton380 Hi Peyton380- I am working but I only work a few hours a week- sometimes 8 hours sometimes none. I did get a few scholarships that helped pay my last semester (yes I am in my last semester. 6 more weeks to go)

  • I too am a 2nd degree student after a BSN. Im taking pre-reqs now. I live in NYC and not many schools offer accelerated nursing programs. Out of the 3 that I've found one of them (Columbia University) offers a dual degree BSN/MA program which I really really really want to get into. Upon graduating, you are a Nurse Practicioner with a specialty. The Nurse anesthetist make the most money (around $140k starting) but competition is fierce. Good luck to u!

  • @JuSLiVn Thanks.. I hope you get into that program. Good luck on your pre-reqs..

  • @JuSLiVn Thanks- Best of luck to you too.

  • Hi Martine,

thinking about doing an accelerated RN program but my gpa is low, have a BA in English. Can you recommend a good school/program? online or campus? Thanks so much in advance.

  • @naturalsis Hi naturalsis- It is so hard to recommend a school. It really all depends on where you live and how far you are willing to travel or if you are willing to move just for educational purposes. As for online, I think it would be a bit difficult to go that route. Also- I am not sure if there are accelerated nursing programs online. As for your gpa, once you go back and take some prereqs, the school might look at how well you did on them and then make a decision.

Email me and we will chat

  • @naturalsis Don't worry, the degree is totally useless today. Nobody will hire a new grad and the market is flooded with new grads and "stale grads". Better start thinking of a career change because your job will be filled by a filipino. RN--BSN=useless degree. Google "RN New Grad no jobs" to see what I mean.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa Now that is positive thinking for you. I know some people who are new grads and who already have jobs. If people are extremely particular in which job they will accept or apply for, they won't get hired. As a new grad, you have to be open to different fields just to get your foot in the door. You also have to be open to different locations. There are many companies that won't hire new grads but there is always that 1 that will give a new grad a chance. Same goes for nursing

  • @menelus711: Yeah, we will see how positive you are when you finish your program and are unemployable. It is not about picky. THERE ARE NO JOBS FOR NEW GRADS. Yes, there are some outliers, but for the most part---the degree is useless right now. Spend more than 2 minutes with a google search and you will see.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa I have done my research and I see how it is right now. I am not graduating tomorrow. When the time comes for me to find a job, I will still have my positive attitude and take on my search. To be honest, the only person that needs to worry about being unemployed (if that is the case next year) is me and my husband. The reason I put these videos together is to show people that an accelerated program is possible. I will worry about looking for a job after passing my NCLEX.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa Hey there.. I thought about you last week. Just an FYI, i passed my boards and got a job in the ICU all in 1 week. Not sure where you got your info from last year. Hopefully you are having a fab day.

  • @menelus711: Awsome. As you know there are always "outliers" in statistics. My class is still, after 1.6 years, still over 85% unemployed. Kudos for you. I hope you have a "fab" day and a "fab" career. Odd that you got hired in the ICU w/out paid Med/Surg experience. Anyways...good luck.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa Hi- I honestly believe it was all about networking. I worked at a hospital and networked with everyone that I met. This hospital also has a nursing school and their ICU allows a certain number of new grads to work there. I am not sure why the majority of your class is unemployed. I wish you all the best in your search (if you are searching). (I like the word fab and am not using it in a way to be negative in my previous comment). I hope this was helpful.

  • @menelus711My class got the shaft because the hospitals in my area (and state) ended new grad programs and utilize temp agencies to promote higher profits. My license expires in 2 week and I do not plan to renew. Gotta know when to fold em'. I actually do not care anymore and have found, after some reflection, that RN is not worth the money or physical/mental stress that comes with it.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa:Further, you are higher qualified with your other degrees. Those who go for RN with no hospital experience and no prior degrees with find their degree useless.

  • @naturalsis Hey what state do you live in because my gpa is also low and I am looking for an accelerated program as well. can you let me know how your search is going etc? thanks

  • I am a freshman in college and I plan on studying nursing. I am very worried because I have to take a test in order to be accepted into the BSN program at my school. It mostly consists of mathmatics. I am learning disabled in math so I am worried about my performance. I can only take the test twice and then I cannot reapply. I have a 3.75 GPA, I graduated number #3 in my high school class, and I never thought I would want to study nursing.

  • @SEHarpz Hi- I just noticed this comment. Were you able to take the test? If so, how did you do? I never thought that I would want to study nursing but here I am.. (I started the program on Tuesday, May 4. WOOW)

  • thanks for posting this, I will have my B.S in psychology in 6 months and decided to do nursing. I was looking for an accelerated program myself. Someone told me I should get my ADN, get licensed then while I work the hospital can pay for me to get my BSN. I have no idea what route I will go.

  • Hi Hopeday1. I had to look up the meaning of "ADN". Is is Associated Degree in Nursing? (Sorry if I am wrong). Well if you were to go that route, you would end up going for 2 years. An accelerated program would last at most 18 months and you would end up with a BSN. Yeah it would be great to have a hospital pay but you would be spending a total of 4 years (if that) going for the same thing you can accomplish in 2. That's my take on it. What do you think?

  • Yea you are right...I found a school by my house where I can do a accelerated bsn program in 12months, it's for those who already have a degree, I will go that route. The ADN sounds pointless to me i REALLY don't want to spend that much time in school girl lol the least amount of time to get what I need is perfect

  • Glad I could help. The only downside to an accelerated program is that you can not work. You have to be available for clinicals. I dont think they are scheduled in advance.

Oh yeah 12 months is great. The program I am going to enroll in is 15 months. Be sure to look at the prereqs because some schools have different requirements. Thank God the school I want to go to only requires 4.

Good luck on your decision and let me know how everything goes:)

  • You should make sure that you get a BSN! Especially if youre planning to get a masters and move up to admin or anesthesia. thats what im doing

  • @kufresh06 Absolutely.. Well I have my MBA already so I don't think I will be going for a masters in nursing.. Are you in a program already?

  • Hello! Great smile ;) I am starting my Nursing program in January...just finished my prerequisites this summer.

I am similar to you in that I'm switching careers from business: Sales and Management. I have a B.A. in Sociology and I'm a 31yr. old black male. I think what you're doing here is fantastic.

I'd like to correspond with you along this journey we're undertaking. I'm very excited! This is sure to be very enlightening and rewarding! Keep 'em coming lovely!

  • Thanks :). Congrats on starting the nursing program. How long will it take you to complete the program? I can't wait to be done with my prereqs. Why are you switching careers?

I have found so many people posting about their nursing programs but nothing that directly relates to me. I'm glad to find someone can relate.

Absolutely-Please follow! I am actually working on my next video and should be posting it shortly.

What are you doing before classes start? (work?)

  • I'm taking A&P1 right now as well. Its an accelerated a&p course where I take a&p 1 and 2 in the same semester! But how is a&p1 going for you? oh yea and im actually the youngest person in my class...75% in my class is over 30, and im 20 hence there is no one under 25

  • Wow. I wish I could take an accelerated a&p course! A&p 1 is ok so far. It's interesting and way different from economics. I think I might do well in the class- Our first couple of quizzes and labs have been fairly easy or I just am studying like crazy. Everyone is over 30? That's weird but hey it's all good. I think there are 2 people in my class that's over 30 and 2 or 3 in my chem class.

Well good luck in that class.. Let me know how you do :)

  • Hi! I am a senior in college right now studying human nutrition. I plan on applying for an accelerated nursing program as well! Its good to see others as well! Do you have any suggestions? I am so excited to!

  • That's awesome and good luck on your last year. Considering I am kind of in the same boat as you, I would say the best thing to do first is to find which schools offer the accelerated program and then find out what their pre-reqs are. I have been looking at a couple of different ones as a plan B just in case and they ask for different courses. Also be prepared because they do NOT recommend students working since it's so concentrated.. Good luck and let me know how things go :)

  • @ultrablueOL Hey- Did you get accepted into an accelerated program yet. I just started on May 4th.

  • Good luck with your schooling and your new fame on youtube. You look great!!! If I send you a nurses outfit will you blog with it on????

  • Thanks. I definitely will :) I can't wait to get it! I love gifts from you :)
