Nice instruction Vid. I for along time was wondering the best way to part the hair for a twist style that looks professional. I hooked onto this technique and can't say enough about it. You are right the twist outs are banging from it
Thank you! I do them on wash day-when my hair is partially dry I use glycerin, shea butter, and a little bit of organic root stimulator twist and loc gel.
i still dont get how you even were able to get to the parting stage. My hair isn't super thick but do i need to process my hair 1st? think till look good on a male w/your skin tone?
The first step is to start the twists on freshly washed and moisturized hair, then start parting your hair at the diagonal for maximum part coverage. You do not need to process your hair for this style. Yes, I do think this style works for both males and females. Hope this helps!
You know, I use to think the same thing. I would only wear 2-strands, as short a time a possible just to do twist outs, cause i hated the look of them lol. Twists are so beneficial to the hair , I decided to give em' another try. Sometimes you have to give it a few tries before you get use to them. Now I really like them!
You're a lifesaver! I used to part my hair going straight across, and the look was so unflattering due to my scalp showing. lol I'm so glad I came across this video. No one ever told me to part at an angle before. I did my twists last week and I was SO VERY HAPPY with the finished product. Thank you so much :)
Hun, you are too fly. lol. I love your twist. I am still learning my natural hair. I am going to attempt to put in tow strand twist tonight. Pray for me.
Practice really does make perfect!...It took me many many hours of trial and error before I got the hang of it.... I will say a prayer for you sweetie :)
Can 2-strand twists last for a month? I want to do them and keep them for a month, but i'm scared it'll get fuzzy, messed up or unravel in a few days. My hair's on the soft side. Is there anything i can do to make it hold and stay for that long? I don't use gel. I want to be able to wash and DC every two weeks, as well as rinse/co-wash 2x a week.
I've had twists in my hair for the past 4 years now....I wish I had the patience to do them myself...I'd save a lot on money. I get them done small and a lot of them so it gets pricey
Wow that's a long time. Your twists must be really long! It can get pricey, it's worth trying to do them yourself...the more you do them the better you get:)
A pleasure sharing:)...I'd been using Stylox Gel by Avlon, which is amazing but doesn't have the best ingredients i.e, lot's of cones and mineral oil.....I'm trying to find or make the natural equivalent....I use a spritzer similar to Oyin's Greg juice for maintenance...as long as I use a glycerin base my two strands/outs are happy. I using wear my two strands for 5 days and twist out for a couple of days.
OMG!!!! thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I have been trying and trying to figure out how to cover my parts with two strand twists. you are the first to explain that part to me! I am so excited to try again. You just saved me $100 and a hassle during my trip to Miami!!! Thanks sistah!
I am so happy I could help! Girl, I was just as glad when I discovered it myself.....this technique never lets me down...i never did like the look of 1st day twists, because of the parts but this technique takes care of that. Enjoy!
Thank you! I'm glad it works for you. It's especially great for fine haired curlies who need a little extra scalp coverage. Thanks for commenting:)

Would this style work with permed hair?
Wash and twist it?

wash and twist is?

Im sure you could, after twisting you'd have to secure the ends with rollers or something so they wouldn't unravel though.

what is the purpose of parting the hair at an angle??

Better part coverage, than parting straight across.

I twist my own hair as well and have never considered parting at an angle...that's so neat!
Thanks for sharing. What products do you use on the twists and while you're wearing the twist out?
Also, how long did you leave the twists in before you unraveled them?

When I use the angled parting technique it takes me about an hour and a half if I don't take any brakes. I only use this method now.
