Well guidegamers theory makes more sense because not just one of Desmonds parents were assassins. If you do the things outside of Ezio's memory's and listen to subject 16 in Revelations it said that both Desmonds parents were assassins. So it is more likely that Ezio is either from Desmonds mom or Dads side or vice versa with Altair. Altair is definitely not Ezio's father though.
