So to say it is Yashua instead of Yehoshua indicates that whoever Yashua is, he has fallen in spiritual level from holiness. Very nice. We are close to the times of moshiach? This is something that no person can know for sure. Just try to refine yourself one step at a time, whether it be eating kosher, or learning more torah, perhaps saying more tehillim each day. If each jew worked on themselves, then moshiach woud come. because lets say in Jacob/Yakov's vision of the ladders and the angels we knew the amount of years of this exile, (egypt was 211 and bablyonian was 70,) for example the year 5775 Hebrew Calendar or 2014, then people born in the 1,000 generations before will basically will see no reason to do mitzvahs or teshuva.

Yakov did know when the Mashiach was supposed to come, he was about to tell his sons, but HaShem confused him. its one of the few things we are not supposed to know.

In the book of the prophets. They said that the Moshiach was gonna come before the destruction of the temple and that He will restore it. (thats His first coming).
