  • I can't stand the comparisons between Liz & Marilyn. Liz was the best brunette, Marilyn the best blonde. Maybe Rita Hayworth or Maureen O'Hara were the best redheads.

  • The guy with the glasses is cute and funny. :)

  • It's not such a mystery to me. What you see is not always what is really there. She had major demons...she as an actress. To say she was on top of the world on the set said nothing about where her mind really was. she could have been and obviously was, totally depressed and worried about her age, and future. I guess she just decided it was too much to deal with. What's so strange about that?

  • @Handiman544 Yes and a lightbulb just went off in my head; Marilyn was hooked on uppers, downers, and sleeping Pills. She was rumered to be drunk alot and she had issues with her "dumb blonde" image. It took her hours to apply makeup, dress, and do her hair. She was aging and had always wanted to age gracefully. She was sick and late too often. Maybe she was fired from her last film and that was the last straw so she killed herself.

  • Well your entitled to your opinion as am I. But if certain star had died young and at a pinnacle point then people would have deemed them crazy too. What about all of Liz taylor's antics? That broad was completely bat shot crazeeee and a dick hound.

  • Please note how in every scene that they do have of her you do not see her throwing fits, crying, acting drug addled or otherwise crazy. She was not crazy. The studio WANTED her labeled so they could malign her and control her. And btw ACTORS do take more than one take on a scene for whatever reason.

  • @flenif2247 she was sorta crazy whatever that means ya they got her hooked on pills fuked her up more but had her own issues her mom was commited and so was she atleast once and had it so joe had the last say cos she knew it would prob happen again she was molested and passed around to family members she talked of noone wanting her and wanted a baby so bad..she had a ton of issues but was a good person.but to act like she wasnt a lil crazy is stupid i luv her but she was n part of y i luv her.

  • They were SO concerned re: capitalizing on MM, they failed to see the help she needed then. Who cares if Cukor took it personally? I don't. I wonder if some folks looking back years later had ANY regret re: how they handled this whole affair. Or did they instead continue to retreat into the 'it was all her fault' mode to spare them feeling any guilt & that maybe they should've offered help instead of scorn & trying to profit from her til her last breath.

  • Dean Martin was lovely with her. So sweet, never getting mad with her.

  • She actually had great comical timing in many of those scenes. She was great!

  • Liz Taylor looked like a toad compared to Monroe.

  • @doublepenetr8or , at least she could act. And she didn't look like she was wearing a wig 24/7. Marylin acted like she was on a Latino soap opera-so dramatic and phony...

  • @Tihbialdunav she was type cast. she actually possessed range as highlighted in Dont Bother to Knock.

  • @doublepenetr8or no way. they were both mind-blowingly gorgeous!

  • @doublepenetr8or : Liz Taylor was just as beautiful, if not more so, than Monroe. It all comes down to personal taste, but that is a horrible comparison. If Liz Taylor looks like a "toad compared to Monroe" then the rest of the world must look like Frankenstein or cockroaches to you!

  • @theringmaster11

Plenty of women were hotter than Monroe but NOT Taylor.

  • @am153

    no she doesn't.

you felt the need to use that word.

    you idiot.

  • You can see how Dean Martin was so nice and patient with her

  • I'm starting to see the comparison of Anna Nicole and Marilyn personality and mental disorders. I think their lives ended around the same age and under similar circumstances.

  • NO ONE ! Can replace Marilyn.

  • 0:40 i love this scene! I love her facial expressions and her voice. she is so beautiful but yet so childlike

  • @BadBitchJordynn that scene make me think of Nicole Kidman

  • no one could, can or will ever replace her ;)

  • She is a perfect example of manic depressive people... It's a hard thing to bear alone... it's even sadder that many people still suffer from it, but often don't have the money to hire the help, as Marilyn did... it is renders them even more helpless

  • This seems kind of one-sided. She is not around physically to defend herself.

  • it seems like dean was always nice to her and encouraging- the kind of man she needed x

  • she was so cute! poor girl, i don't think she meant to kill herself. she was just headed down the road that seemed the easiest to help her juggle her crazy life. :(

  • @Melimo Many famous people that have died often didn't mean to kill themselves either. Kind of a warning to anyone, about the risks of drinking and mixing it with any kind of meds, especially strong sedatives or sleeping meds.

  • my older sister looks nearly as stunning as marilyn and shes 34 and still looks twenty

  • poor person ....

  • she killed herself she was a very insecure individual underneath all the smiles and glamour she had issues with herself she thought that she looked terrible as she grew older she also had mental illness alot of people like to easily say its murder which it wasnt at all she was very depressed and always thought of suicide but never did it until one day she decided it was time

  • @bornstar20 At last, a sensible statement. I don't think MM PLANNED to die, but that night, for whatever reason, she was suddenly, massively depressed and took those pills. All the Kennedy stuff springs from the minds of those two dead liars, Jeanne Carmen and Robert Slatzer. Nobody had a reason to murder her, all those theories are absurd. This was 1962, nobody "told the world" about their affairs. MM was trying to salvage her career, not wreck it. Such things DID NOT HAPPEN in 1962.

  • @waif55 thank you all people like to do is point the fingers there were so many times i made mistakes and thought i wanted to die took an overdose but thank god i survived as soon as i took it and saw that i was drifting away slowly i regreted it i think the same with MM she took them then as soon as she felt her liufe slipping away she knew she made a mistake so she called the guy up and couldnt talk straight because of the overdose she had taken she wanted help but it was to late she took

  • own life tragic but true she was such a beautiful woman and no matter what people told her as she gre older she didnt believe that she was always in the spotlight remember that so she had this persona of a glamorous young woman so as soon as she grew older she thought she was getting uglier which we all know she wasnt like in her song Diamond are a girls best friend "Girls grow old, while men grow cold" anyways R.I.P Marilyn Monroe

  • @waif55 No residue was found in her gut consistent with swallowing the # of pills reported as causing her death, per the pathologist. This lack of residue compared w/what was in her bloodstream - she should have died a LONG time before she is said to have died. So, it is practically impossible that she swallowed all those pills & died then. Not saying that it was murder, but no evidence of her swallowing the lethal amount correlated w/time of death.

  • @bornstar20 Marilyn never killed herself. She had no reason too. Read the #1 most respected and factual biography of the star by Donald Spoto and in there you will get facts on how she died. All those silly rumors of her being killed by someone else are nothing more but conspiracy theories and lies. Just read the book and you will find out.

  • Here's what really happened: Marilyn wanted to be a Kennedy family member by marriage. Her plan didn't work out after failed relationships with JFK & Bobby. She was going to tell the world about her affairs with them (and God knows what else, obviously damaging stuff about the Kennedys). They hired her own doctor and housekeeper to kill her and make it look like suicide. But there was justice - Both JFK and Bobby were killed too!!

  • marilyn monroe was one of a kind a great looking girl who could act no one these days can hold a candle to her flam

  • I truly believe that MM was given a lethel enema, to keep her from having that press conference where she would have ruined the Kennedy's, she was noty a stupid person, she just made a lot of bad choices, a lot of people who are famous do that today, her houe keeper was siad to be doing laundry, so that would explain the soiled sheets after an enema, it just baffles me that everyone thinks the Kennedys were such great men, they treat women like shit, including there wives.

  • Dean Martin..what a patient sweetheart.

  • how can someone compare heer to Liz Taylor? Marilyn is a far more loving and kind person....

  • @andrewzeegers i don't understand how you can say that, did you know both? i really doubt it. i love marilyn monroe a lot, but there's no reason to downgrade another actress just to compliment marilyn.

  • @mollymariex hi Moll, thanks for your comment. Well I personally find that Marilyn had a lot deeper character and more pure. Well I have to do with what I see on the screen ofcourse but people aren't just flat the same, one person can be purer and have a deeper character than the other. One person can be more real and the other more 'plastic'. It's just my opinion...

  • dean martin... a class act

  • In Anthony Summer's book on Monroe, it's said that she had multiple abortions, possibly as many as a dozen. In Donald Spoto's book on Monroe it's said that she didn't have even one. Who you gonna believe? Probably the truth is somewhere inbetween. I think she had abortions, but who knows how many? There's no real way of knowing for certain.

  • "That Woman!" is the clincher in my mind for "That Murder!"

MM was no longer identifiable as a bankable persona in the eyes of studio executives. The "Cash Cow" was no longer "Milk-able."

"The Final Straw" and the walk out of Dean Martin speaks to the nature and power of "The Rat Pack." Peter Lawford included, brother-in-law to JFK.

Enter Frank Sinatra, "Chairman of the Board," old "Blue Eyes" and Mafia-connections. In Battlefield Earth, L. Ron Hubbard cited the rule of "The Entertainers."

  • 3:06-3:16 :( I hope she wasn't thinking that because that assumption couldn't have been more wrong... Nobody has since or ever will be able to fill her shoes or steal her beautiful crown. Nuff said.

  • No one could ever replace Marilyn at 36 or at any age. Not then, not now, not ever.

  • @ElanaVital83 She is immortal because she is still in our minds and hearts and in images all over the world nearly 50 years after her death. She was just mistreated in Hollywood. Many stars are immortal today who lived a full life as well. No one ever got sick of them.

This website is for viewing videos and for posting constructive comments and opinions. It is not for insulting remarks, let alone poor grammar such as yours. "You do not know anything about showbusiness." is correct.

  • @christenemitri LOL You must be very young and immature to think that correcting grammar validates your argument.

  • @ElanaVital83 Well at least people actually gave me a thumbs up on my comment which validates it a lot more than yours. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and just because you don't agree with it doesn't give you the right to insult them. Clearly you are the immature one for starting the childish and grammatically incorrect insults in the first place.

  • @christenemitri Wow, your immaturity shows more and more. LOL You're proud of a few thumbs up? How old are you, 13?

  • @ElanaVital83 I'm probably a lot older or at least a lot more mature than you are and I'm not going to keep this elementary school back and forth exchange with you any longer. I notice your sentence structure is improving so perhaps you might be ready for 2nd grade now but you have a long way to go before you can handle the internet. You are a disgrace to youtube and people like you are the reason spam was created.

  • @christenemitri LOL!!

  • 1:49- 1:50 so beautiful

  • I think she had endometriosis which is pretty common and leads to infertility.

  • @missescookie , sounds very likely. I never thought of that.

  • dean martin is so understanding and sweet - he knew she was suffering a A REAL CLASS ACT

  • Evenif allMarilyn's problems were solely her own doing, Dean would still be "sweet and understanding"..he was just that kind.....

  • she probably didnt mean to be so unprofessional, But side affects and from meds together with sleeping difficulties make you unreliable.

  • i think, theres a mind/language split..she used to stutter as a kid.

  • Stunning, but so sad.

  • @Kelhibbert

No proof that she ever even had ONE abortion. That story comes from Amy Greene, who had her reasons. Amy said MM had 13! Back then? She'd have died.

There is plenty of proof that MM suffered from "female problems" her entire life--terrible pain. It was that, not any abortions which kept her from carrying a baby full term. She had three miscarriages with Miller.

  • Yeah, there is no proof that she ever had any abortions...other than the dozen or so people who have been quoted in interviews saying that she told them about it.

Why are people so blinded by her beauty and talent? She wasn't Mother Teresa or the Virgin Mary. If she was a celebrity today her drug use, man-jumping, and many other antics would make Brittney Spears and Lindsey Lohan look like innocent and wonderful people.

  • If anyone wants an unbiased report on the making of SGTG just read a book called The Last Take. The studio and Cukor were never patient with MM and were just as much to blame as she was.

  • When should the studio lose patience with an actress? After calling in sick 17 times? 30 times? 50 times? It seems to me they were more patient with her than they would have been with any other actress on the planet.

  • @crj2727 Where does 'patience' come in to it when dealing with a sick individual? Why not try to get her the help she needed instead of trying to milk everything they could from her at that time? The attitude about her nude shots in the swimming pool says volumes to me -- more interested in MM nude than in the fact that she was troubled and needing help.

  • @ADenny12 exactly she was off had issues and needed help ...some handlers fed her ego making her this person who was late and so weird about reshooting... the studios gave stars drugs easy accsess to them to calm nerves things like that then she was hooked..and with being molested a few times having a crazy mom im sure she had depression and maybe something else ..she spoke of noone wanting her growing up..noone helped her only wanted her for money

  • How could anyone think that Elizabeth Taylor was prettier than Marilyn. I don't find anything pretty about Liz

  • Elizabeth Taylor was a spectacular beauty in her day. Check her out in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She and MM were equally lovely, just different types of beauty (as would be Audrey Hepburn and Natalie Wood).

  • probably at first she was rather interested in her carerre, while later she was rather interested in her personal life

  • "i'd be so grateful if you'd take it out"

  • Thank you for posting this documentary. I suppose this lends a lot of insight into the events leading to her death and of course her psychological state at the time. I guess she's in a better place now. Poor thing. She lived in a time when Bi Polar (manic depression) was such a stigma. Had she been born 30 years later, she may still be alive today. I guess we'll never know.

  • I am bipolar and it is difficult enough on all my meds. I am constantly tired all the time. But I would rather be tired than depressed, panicky and having mood swings constantly. It must have been horrible for her because they really didn't have anything back then for that. She had to be miserable.

  • she was a very good person and i dont blame her that she did playboy because she needed the money to pay her rent i think she was beautiful talented and nice but its sad how she couldnt have children and she had a sad cildhood...even though she had an afair with both kennedys lol !!

  • She didn't "do" Playboy. She took those photos for a calendar and Mr. Hefner purchased the photos almost 5 years later.

Secondly, she could have children because she had several abortions during her lifetime.

  • @crj2727 , about the abortions. Where's your facts?

  • Where's my facts? Well I am not going to go through and cite page numbers and use quotations, but if you want to do some reading for yourself one of the many books that talk about her many abortions is "Godess" by Anthony Summers. He interviewed a great many of her friends and confidants and literally a dozen of them talked about her abortions. She made no secret of it.

  • @crj2727

Sorry, you are wrong, and I sent a longer response to your address. NO firm prooof at all about multiple abortions, certainly not a dozen references in "Goddess."

  • @crj2727

And why are there NO stories from people saying they took her to and from her many abortions? I mean, 13? You think she went alone, back in 1940's and 50's, when women were dying of that?

  • @waif55 OK you are right and all of the people who actually knew her are all wrong. She was also lying when she talked about her many abortions. Clearly you haven't read the book if you don't think there are many quotes from people who knew her well saying she had abortions. I won't waste my time citing the pages and quoting them because I am not that bored and you wouldn't care anyways. You are right and the people who spent years with her are wrong.

  • @crj2727 I have NO idea whether or not she had abortions. But as soon as you mentioned "Goddess" and the "dozen" references to her abortions, I went to my bookshelf picked up "Goddess" and looked under "Marilyn..abortions" and found the THREE references I cited. Again--no matter what she said, NOBODY has come forward to say they saw or helped or took her to or from an abortion. 13 abortions! Don't you think other than her own tall tales there would be some proof?!

  • why did she was so exosted and tired at every scene?.....she was gorgeus any way

  • I've watched half of the movie, I wish the completed it.. I wonder what's the ending... it's an interesting movie

  • It warms my heart how Marilyn hugs all those boys, including the African American children. She is one of the true cultural advocates for civil rights in my opinion.

  • i also felt that was heart warming, especially considering the decade she was in.

  • @AdArmand

I couldn't have said it better myself. She even helped Ella Fitzgerald perform at a restricted club, helping her career. They had a strong friendship. She really had a good spirit.

  • @AdArmand If You Also Notice, She Was a Fan of Ella Fitzgerald as well helped her career.

  • @AdArmand stupid comment

  • She would have been 83 on June 1st of this year.

  • She looks absolutely stunning at 36, I wouldn't be surprised if she looked great at whatever age she would be if she were still alive...

  • wow, i didnt realize she was that age when she died.. amazing

  • @bistroboi I think back in the days looking prettier was easier for those who were predisposed for it, due to more natural products and smaller levels of pollution and etc. However, I do agree that Marilyn demonstrate how the old excuse of stress is powerless when you take care of oneself.

  • @bistroboi In her 80's.

  • lol dean martin looking at her butt

  • Comment removed

  • @cristinaronson yea! where's her famliy?

  • @MrZol Her bio dad dumped her and mom, her mom adopted her out, her grandma was mentally ill. Sh really had no family.
