Good luck to you on your weight loss. I work out a great deal and I've lost about 28 inches in the past 8 or 9 months. My measurements are smaller then yours but my weight is higher? Would you happen to know why that is? My mother and a lot of people told me it's muscle weight. I get a little ticked and upset. I don't know why I'm asking this. I just get confused.
Hiya GBS! It's been way too long since I've done a video update; nice to know people are still watching these things. Wow, you've had some really incredible results this year! Congratulations! I would guess your weight is higher because you are taller? I'm 5'2" - how tall are you? Anyway, for sure, muscle mass does weigh more than fat. I get weighed at the gym and it tells me my muscle % so sometimes it's comforting when the weight doesn't go down but the muscle % has gone up. Keep at it! Cheers
Yes, I'm 5'5" 1/2. I also did a lot of building in my legs a while back. Gained a lot of muscle in there. My mother was right..lol. She's always right. I'm an idiot. A personal trainer told me it was muscle weight. I still ask everyone. I worry too much. Everyone says I look 140lB.
Thank you. You're looking very slim by the way. Good luck! :)
Ha! Well, I am slowly improving anyway. I never thought I'd be a runner but I just did a 10k race on Sunday and I wasn't even the last one to finish! Heh. Thanks for the encouragement.
Hey, that's great. It's always a good feeling to find out you are motivating the people who motivate you. Speaking of which, I am off to the gym to get tortured for an hour by my trainer...
Taking while running thats talent!!! Sorry things didn't go well last week for you, but I admire your strenght and determination to get back up and dust yourself off and do it again! Well done!
Thanks for the props. I guess they say you should be able to have a conversation while you're running, or else you're going too hard, so this was a good way to test my fitness level. Or something. Heh. Anyway, yeah, I think it's important to fess up when I mess up, as well as sharing the victories. The accountability factor is important, and really helps me re-focus and forgive myself for being human. Especially when so many others see it and relate to it and offer their support. (Such as you!)
I bat an eye at 90lbs in 9 weeks... it's PSYCHO!!!
Can't believe you can talk while running. I'm on week 5 of C25K... ran for 20 min straight at 5miles and hour yesterday... almost died but didn't stop... it was very empowering.
You know, I can't believe I can run and talk either. I've been building quite gradually. In the fall, when I just needed to get into an exercise routine but was too daunted by the prospect of committing an hour to the gym, I would set a goal of just running for 15-20 minutes, even if I needed to walk for a rest, just to get myself off the couch and doing something regularly. I AM IRON MAN! (You too!)
It's an interval training program that claims to get couch potatoes running a 5K in 9 weeks. It's working pretty well for me. Do you know of any 5K runs in the summer... would love to join one.
I'm thinking there must be tons of 5k runs... seems like there's always a run of some sort going on in TO. I myself have lost my mind and signed up for the Sporting Life 10k on May 3. It goes straight down Yonge St (downhill, yessss!) and is supposed to be the easiest/fastest 10k in North America. I hope so, cuz I've never even run to the store! Anyway, good luck on your training; keep us posted, especially if you enter a run.
It's true, it feels great to expend some of that energy. Although, last week I expended so much of it, I'm surprised there was anything left in the tank for me to vent! Thanks for the encouragement!
