  • u make it look easy...lol

  • In the program would this exercise be a suitable replacement for inverted rows if I'm not have the equipment to do them?

  • how tall does the object have to be to perform a inverted row that supports your arms

  • Incredible stuff there Jeff. But tell mw something..You didn't get those huge biceps juts with body weight exercise right? Or for that mater if you do have any exercise that gives me a stronger back, good biceps just with bodyweight exercises pl. do let me know, I'd be very keen to try out your programs.Thanx a lot.

  • what do you mean by "Balance"?

  • never seen these! subscribed

  • I wud place myself between two chairs of equal height with some padding (towels folded over a few times) under my triceps.

  • Bent over or seated rows?

  • No range of motion, not practical, pull ups win.

  • @Cornbreadddd Sometimes u cant do full range of motion when ur recovering from an injury. Static holds at weak point in the ROM will help u recover.

  • I just tried it with 2 simple table chairs. Very good exercise.

  • he sounds like ross from friends

  • for an individual that is already protracted slightly or severely, wouldn't this exercise activate the already overactive pec minor and anterior delt? I dont know about this exercise. plus, usually if someone has a bench they just might have a barbell. Either way, the exercise isnt really functional and they could just a use dumbbells to do lawn mowers. no dumbells? use a tool box with tools, or something else with a good grip and ideal weight.

  • @detechnoHD idk about you but I workout for looks

  • my delts hurt when i do this. am i doing it wrong or am i just too weak? T_T

  • @muizzizz this isnt a good workout. i wouldnt suggest doing it.

  • @jonathonflores6958 why so?

  • @muizzizz well most peoples' anterior delt and pec minor are already overactive mean the muscle fibers are shortened. this exercise enables the already overactive muscles while your back musculature is lengthened during the eccentric movement. This just isnt functional. There's no real reason you'd want to do this exercise. you'd never do this movement in life so why in a workout?

  • GUYS PLEASE? LISTEN TO THIS MAN!! HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH!. A year ago I gained a bunch of weight because I was sick for months and couldn't workout. After I got better I bought the Athlean X program and got back in shape. Jeff changed my life.

  • will this get me dat christmas tree in my back?

  • This is actually so hard

  • What's your take on the TRX system?

  • Jeff,

Would reverse plank do the same? Is there any benefit to keeping the body rigid during the movement? I haven't tried this yet but I'm excited to give it a try!

  • Nicely done mate. Inverted rows normally tie in the biceps as well, and this exercise actually isolates the movement, making you only use your lats. Impressive.

  • this guy just working out, i guess he never fight in life, don't go to gym to get muscle , you need to be strong not muscular, type some Russian workout or Ukraine, they will show how you can develop without that gym and gey guy like this.

  • excellent video Jeff. Great advise about balancing the body. So many young bucks end up with shoulder problems from too much bench pressing and not enough upper back development. I bought a medical walker at Goodwill for 8 bucks and it works great for inverted rows and dips. It is also rated for 300 pounds! I use it during my lunch hour for those two exercises. It always makes for a good conversation piece sitting folded up in the corner of my office. Get one without wheels on the front.

  • I just bought the whole program -- so excited! Do you have any videos explaining the ladder conditioning exercises -- I didn't quite understand them from the descriptions -- are you using an actual ladder or just imaginary marks on the ground? Thanks!

  • Awesome! KEEP IT UP!

    -BRANDON

  • i just stacked up a couple 15lb plates.

  • I like doing things like this but I use a suspension training system like TRX. The really hard part is to mentally only use the right muscles.

  • I live you're videos. You rarely ever post leg exercises

  • That's an interesting interpretation.

  • fantastic vdo................

  • hey jeff.i love your vids and even brought your training system.can a asian develop a nice body like yours??pls answer this pls

  • awesome jeff.

  • look motha suckas! to do a row just lay under a table and pull your self up. problem solved

  • PLEASE! Just give me a list of 4 chest exercises to increase muscle! Explain them as you always do, and I will thumbs up every video from the on :)

  • looks like a kamasutra pose

  • Nautilus had a vertical machine for this, with roller pads for the elbows back in the 80's. If you were to use stools that were 3 feet high, how would this change the exercise?

  • Like all the workouts . Being doing them for 3 weeks and feeling stronger and already starting to notice a change

  • awesome ,,,,,,, hey jeff can you do a video about the right way to do barbell/dumbbell row ?

  • looks like an awesome workout, ima try it tomorrow

  • Wouldn't bent over barbel rows work as well actually just got to the bit where he says not everyone has a barbell

  • Wouldn't bent over barbel rows work as well?

  • I do dumbbell rows each week. But after 3 sets of these my back was sore the next day. Awesome. Love these.

  • I really like the look of this but wonder if it could put a lot of stress on the clavicle when the elbows go behind the body possibly leading to lifters shoulder?

  • thanks for posting this, will definitely try, love the fact that it works the back but gives the forearms and wrists a break.

  • Jeff, Consistently excellent. This is a great tip, terrific and simple idea, which are usually the best, for addressing this too common imbalance/weakness in so many athletes and physique. Very much appreciate your generous giving. Btw, you're looking GREAT, which should bring unbelievers into the fold. Thanks again, gene s.

  • my back is kinda forward and i was doing pull ups and it didnt do shit. U need to do rows in order to pull it back

  • use stack of books!!

  • is this safe?

  • Jeff,

I love the idea of the athleanx system. I have been wanting to get it but i am recovering from tendonitis in my shoulder. I think the problem is very well what you have previously explained about not having enough external rotation. I am waiting for my shoulder to heal. Can I start the athleanx or shoudl I wait untill its completely gone to start ??

  • i do this same exersice but i do it in a plank position. its has the same concept but easier

  • I use a dip station in my house, reverse and works the back.

  • Awesome exercise - using two chairs seem to work fine. I've been looking for a good way to improve my back-workouts.

  • Thanx, very usefull advice, definetely will try on my next workout rutine!

  • Another great one Jeff, thanks man.

  • Can you also use the corners of your couch? like if you have a L shaped couch..

  • Hey Jeff and clues on whether or not Pre-workouts are worth investing in??

  • Creative

  • more exerciese for chest and back without weights?

  • i saw your video about creatine and you said that it is not a dangerous supplement and that you dont need to cycle on and off. i have seen on several websites that taking the creatine continuously, it may cause the body to become reliant on the powder and will stop the body producing it. is this true or, is it safe not to cycle?

  • Respect to Jeff, he's got a program that works, it's a fair price, it keeps you safe, gets you functional, I trained the typical bodybuilding way, my form was perfect but I still got injured, when I get my health back on track I'm joining Team Athlean, just watching these vids motivates me for when I can come back better than ever.

  • This one sucks Jeff. lol I'll just hit LA Fitness and do some work.

  • Jeff, u should do another healthy hamstrings workout 4 when the first 1 hits a plateau

  • Can this also be achieved by lying beneath the barbell and pulling up, flexing the back at the top of the movement?

  • @XmasToys yeah he just did a video on that it's called an inverted row. this video was for the people who want to do that exercise without access to a barbell.

  • i understand the techniques involved...but that would look super weird in the gym.

  • What does it take for a person like you to become a person of the higher powers of society? What does it take? Physical fitness or mental caliber?

  • what shoes do you wear?

  • @ZerkzInc i wear Addidos :)

  • at 5:19 did anyone notice the cut in the video hahhahahah

  • @jhux1

    fail

  • very nice excercise!

  • great video jeff

    keep 'em comin

  • Sweet. Thanks!!

  • can you explain how the body works? One day I feel big, next day skinny. Does it have to do with certain foods to eat?

  • Isn't that the same with dumbbell rows?

  • How come in some videos ur abs are clearly visible but in some they are less visible?

  • 1:45 OMG

  • Ive used a desk to do inverted rows, it must be a sturdy one and not one of those glass tables. Head underneath the table where you would usually rest your chair or where your legs are in place when doing paper work or something. An overhand grip is the only thing I found to be comfortable.

  • @MbR3k I've shoved a brush handle between two kitchen chairs, but that'll only work if they've got the right back and they're sturdy. I find facing the seats towards each other the best. That said, I've seen Zuzana Light facing the chairs away. Her chairs must be better than mine

  • the only problem i see with this exercise is that there's no way to add weight to make it more challenging as you improve. Jeff or anyone else do you have any solutions to this?

  • if i want to start loose fat how shud i start? im really overweight with alot of abdominal fat, chest fat, bigh thighs and bum.. HELP..

  • @muizzyu Do lots of reverse pushups. The pounds will melt off.

  • @muizzyu beyond doing just reverse pushups.. you should alternate pushups with reverse pushups.. speaking of muscular balance :)

  • @muizzyu hey man, sign up to a gym and watch what you eat, cut down on how much ur eating and replace the junk with healthy food, i.e. if ur eating 5 times a day, cut down to 3, if ur eating fatty food 3 times a day change to healthy food, and get outside, jog walk etc!

  • @silas1000 It's actually better to eat up to 6 times a day instead of just 3.

It'll keep your metabolism working more consistently and help you burn fat.

Get the training program and find out for yourself =)

  • @pizzabakkert not if you're trying to lose weight, you need to burn more than the input, but i am no expert on this subject, i've heard it works though

  • @silas1000 True, you will also have to work out, combining that with the right diet spread over the whole day will keep your metabolism working and you will start to lose fat.

Eating more times a day also means eat smaller portions, you will start to feel better and full faster.

  • @pizzabakkert that sounds about right :)

  • @muizzyu lots of cardio.

  • Any ideas of how to do inverted rows at home without a barbell?

  • The easiest would be to use chairs everyone has them at home unless ur a broke motherfucker

  • @king40796 I just thought of the same thing!

It'll also be slightly higher than using 2 benches....

Would give you plenty of depth.

  • @pizzabakkert yhh tru say

  • @king40796 broke is good :)

  • @king40796 exactly what I was going to say.

  • Love the videos! Keep em' coming. I'm a Kinesiology major and you speak the truth about body mechanics, exercise physiology etc, etc, etc...

  • i think this is one of the best prog on youtube for real

  • GUYS you know how much muscle you are able to build at home?

    THIS fkin much ---

you have to hit the gym and use heavier weight in order to look bigger and become stronger .

  • @djBC10000 you're wrong.

  • @Legystarcraft ok mr.understands it all , then u saying homework dont have it's limits?

how else you gonna do squats and bench press at home?

wdf u gonna squat cars, or maybe bench press one of your family members.

  • i doubt that anyone will need to bench 150kg at home man. and you can always get a safety catch bars when you bench or squat,so you don't need to go to the gym.

  • @Legystarcraft but where do u get the heavy weight from? squatting 100 pounds at home wont do shit to ur legs , if you wanna get big.

again unless you spend a lot of money on machines and dumbbells, you aint gonna make any fkin gain at home. trust me, all you will get a lean ripped body, but NOT BIG.

  • Say Jeff, for this exercise if I don't have two benches I would use two chairs.

    What do you think?

  • @watsoncedric Try Using Alot Of Books Also

  • Dude his lats are fucking huge!!!!

  • Love it Jeff!!

  • Best program I ever have done 3 weeks in and almost have a sixpack!

  • Can you make a video about what inanimate objects around the house that you can use to work out! :D

  • So clever, so much more than Tony Horton!!

  • You actually have the best abs I've ever seen.

  • Awesome again!

  • Great exercise, two kitchen chairs works fine!

  • learn something new every vid

  • Jeff, I can't do a single pull up, is this a good exercise for strengthening my back to enable me to do pull ups ? I REALLY WANT TO DO A PULL UP! , I'm not very fat, so I'm not too heavy, the problem's that my back's muscles are weak

  • Great idea, but won't that put some kind of stress on your shoulders?

  • u can just use 2 fairly low chairs aswell if u don't have a bench :)

  • Nice work jeff

  • this is brilliant. I was doing one of the athlean x challenges in my university residence and I didn't have access to something for inverted rows. I ended up putting my feet under a chair, grabbing the chair by it's ends and using it for the rows. I love the innovation though Jeff. Keep it coming :)

  • do a boxing workout pls

  • guess i wasnt 2nd =[

  • More great advice. Cheers Jeff.

  • Hey Jeff, what's the name of that white and grey bench you own please??

  • 2nd

  • You sound like Ross from the show "Friends"

  • Isn't the pull-up the BEST back exercise?

  • @shurdi3 No I'd say bent over rows

  • first

  • first
