@InnocentPari The new version of the tune by Pritam is much better than the original (which was too simple). As far as the singing goes, this style of voice suits pop more, but the singing ability is nothing great. Richa Sharma's female version was also ok. But my favourite is Vaishali Madhe on Saregamapa 2009. You can see the one by her on youtube as well.

the concept of playback singing is old and long gone. Indian movies contibue to use playback singer as commodity and use them without credit. May be that is reason why India has not been able to develop its own singers industry and the only channel a true singer can be heard is through movies where an actor lip sings a true artist. what a shame to a true art of singing.

Why do so many Pakis and Indians hate each other even when two generations have passed since the partition? I'm from Kolkata in India, and I know that many Indians generalise about Pakis (which is not good), but they don't show any hate or even outward discrimination. I know in other parts of India there is more outward discrimination against Pakistanis (although it is subtle), but as a country there is no anti-Paki propaganda.
@shushanto It is partly in human nature to do so. what else, is that societies often degrade other socities to boost their self esteems, once a person conforms with a group, they tend to discriminate any other individuals in outer groups, this makes them feel better than others, a classic example of this can be seen in football hooliganism.

You may argue that if the football team were bigger (or perhaps had more to it) it could just have a greater number of fans, but this sort of extrapolation does not necessarily work. The football hooliganism example was an actual case study conducted by famous psychologists and they had sufficient evidence to extend the theory to other activities too, such as patriotism. Personally, i think if you looked at my example from a wider prespective, you may be able to identify certain links there too.

Ingroup and outgroup behaviour, although I am aware of it (simply by observation), I do not find myself participating in such nonsense, whether voluntarily or otherwise. Yes I am aware that perhaps a vast majority of the human population is persuaded toward such behaviour, but I am actively aware of it's irrationality and thus I will be no party to it. Rationality is paramount. A Pakistani friend once told me that 99.9% of people are stupid. Perhaps he was right.
@attaah18 The villagers of Pakistan seemed to be heavily-influenced by anti-Indian propaganda, which I have experienced myself. Whereas the Indian villagers that I have met couldn't care less about Pakistan, and I conclude this is because they have not been heavily influenced enough to care.

I remember listening to this song continuously on my 14 hour flight to Pakistan last month...... I like it even more than the old pakistani song its derived from, sung by Reshma.....

Why do so many Pakis and Indians hate each other even when two generations have passed since the partition? I'm from Kolkata in India, and I know that many Indians generalise about Pakis (which is not good), but they don't show any hate or even outward discrimination. I know in other parts of India there is more outward discrimination against Pakistanis (although it is subtle), but as a country there is no anti-Paki propaganda.

@shushanto It is partly in human nature to do so. what else, is that societies often degrade other socities to boost their self esteems, once a person conforms with a group, they tend to discriminate any other individuals in outer groups, this makes them feel better than others, a classic example of this can be seen in football hooliganism.

@attaah18 Yes I can see that. But football hooliganism is contained to a particular football team, which has a limited number of fans. You may argue that if the football team were bigger (or perhaps had more to it) it could just have a greater number of fans, but this sort of extrapolation does not necessarily work. Although the links between football hooliganism and patriot wars are "clearly" linked that does not mean they are.

The football hooliganism example was an actual case study conducted by famous psychologists and they had sufficient evidence to extend the theory to other activities too, such as patriotism. Personally, i think if you looked at my example from a wider prespective, you may be able to identify certain links there too.

Ingroup and outgroup behaviour, although I am aware of it (simply by observation), I do not find myself participating in such nonsense, whether voluntarily or otherwise. Yes I am aware that perhaps a vast majority of the human population is persuaded toward such behaviour, but I am actively aware of it's irrationality and thus I will be no party to it. Rationality is paramount. A Pakistani friend once told me that 99.9% of people are stupid. Perhaps he was right.

@attaah18 The villagers of Pakistan seemed to be heavily-influenced by anti-Indian propaganda, which I have experienced myself. Whereas the Indian villagers that I have met couldn't care less about Pakistan, and I conclude this is because they have not been heavily influenced enough to care.
