  • WOW ... really big audience ... i would like to dance there tooooooo :D

  • @latinleopard93 vas a volverme loca - natalia

  • Yes

  • Jak nazywa się piosenka na samym początku ? cha cha cha ! :)

  • Is there anyone of you who knows the title of the song in the first heat? pls email me or comment on this post. Thanks :)

  • - Русская школа самая лучшая... аминь.

  • is it just me or does it seem like none of these couples are actually dancing to this music

  • WHICH IS THE NAME OF FIRST CHA CHA?????

  • Does anyone know who's the couple 26?

The music seems off with the video, or is it just me?

  • @BlueRita

26 is Zufar Zaripov and Anna Ludwig-Tchemodourova from Austria.... they are not off music

  • @mistschlampenhure i think 26 is okay they do not suck from my view their routine is just more pro than 25

  • @stupidtanga:

it's question of taste. But 25 has a much higher world ranking place. And they are more powerful.....

  • @mistschlampenhure

well that is other perspective it depends on the taste of the judges on the competition 25 is great too

  • @stupidtanga

of course it does.... you know i like this couple, they are normally very powerful....

they are ranked 16 and the other couple is ranked 173.....

and 25 is from my country....

  • @mistschlampenhure

Jean-Phillipe also has better understanding of movement and the relation between using foot pressure and the center of the body.

  • @AceyBlade: What class do you dance?

I just can say, that I do not like the Canadian couple, cause I think they are too "artificial"..... We can discuss for hours if we want and can't come to a conclusion.....

We tend do like a couple for some reasons and we tend to dislike a couple for antoher reason.....

  • Personally, based just on what I saw in this video I'm shocked couple 25 even made it to the semi final. Then I saw them dancing at the embassy ball last night, which was a treat.

However, don't hold too tightly on to rankings. At this same competition a Canadian couple ranked 62nd in Standard beat couples ranked (prior to this competition) at 19th, two couples tied for 20th, 31st, 32nd and 38th. That's six couples clearly ranked above them. They're rank today? After all that, still only 38th.

  • @FaithfullyDancing

I think they have better technique than the canadian couple

  • After seeing the Austrians dance at the embassy ball I would have to agree, how the danced there was miles ahead of how they did here, and yes better than the Canadians as well haha.

What do you think of the Canadians individually? I'll admit I'm no expert which is why I'm asking; only a gold level of dance, which in Europe I believe is two levels below class S (This final was class S, yes?).

  • @FaithfullyDancing :

well.... here the austrians weren't so good, I admit..... you have to watch the Eurocup at Linz of 2008....

What dance system do you have in your country...? I am now quite keen on that...

S- Class is the were you are allowed to dance internationally.... but before that we have 4 other classes, were the dancers have to gather points (they need 5000 points till S class, which takes one 5 to 8 years, it's just rounded.....)

I don't like the style of the Canadian couple....

  • @mistschlampenhure

In Canada the number of competitors is relatively small in each province, There may be three to ten couples dancing to qualify for the national competition depending where you live.

Even the international competitions held in Canada aren't that large (yet, they are growing) and for that reason Canadian couples have no restriction on competing around the world.

  • @mistschlampenhure

While it's apples to oranges when it comes to individual style in this competition the technical and musical merits of the Canadian couple were far above the Austrian.

Oh, and as for the class I dance in. It's the same as these couples.

  • @mistschlampenhure

World ranking list is a poor method of placing couples in order. Did it cross your mind that the Canadian couple generally has to travel to another continent for IDSF ranking competitions? Most of the time couples who have the will and time and resources to travel many IDSF competitions will rank far higher on the WR-list than what they will place when placed in same competition with others.

  • @BlueRita

    Jean-Philippe Milot - Laurence Melancon-Bolduc,

  • @AceyBlade: they look natural? they look exagurated. His hands overdance his feet and her feet aren't well placed. They do not have an aspiring technique and they make a lot of mistakes. (2:50, when she goes back forward in the basic action) For Zufar speaks the world ranking list. They are placed 20.. I 've never seen the other couple before.....

  • @mistschlampenhure

You are correct that the back basic wasn't very well executed. However, when compared to the Austrian couple the Canadian dance much more together and they have unforced rhythm. It looks easier and more relaxed, where as Anna looks rigid in the torso most of the time. I'm also generally not fan of their coreography.

  • @mistschlampenhure

Also, the problem with the back basic is the length of her step (too long) and there's not enough pressure on the free leg to create a hip swinging action that would give her the speed to come forward. That's why her weight is more in the middle of the feet instead of on the heel of the supporting leg.

Technique aside, at least they feel the dance unlike Zufar, who like I said, dances mechanically and always the same regardless of music.

  • 26 sucks! they should've not come to final.... 25 is much much much better

  • @mistschlampenhure

Their dancing looks much more natural and softer than the hard and mechanical dancing from Zaripov. In this competition the canadian couple really belonged into the final instead of the Austrian couple.

  • 26 sucks! this couple came to final! it is unbelievable...... i rather would have given the austrian couple the chance to go the final!!!

  • couple 36 it's danilis kutuzovs

  • no 36, the girl looks a little heavy to me. who are they? he seems to be moving better than her here just going by this clip. she looks a little lacking in body rhythm here.

  • @mals12

I agree she looks a bit heavy and slow, but that might be because the guy is ridiculously fast.

  • really like Jurij Batagelj - Jagoda Strukelj, SLO they stand out to me, she reminds me of a lil version of Yulia Zagorochenko(sp) very beautiful woman and great movements between the two of them.

  • who is no 33?.. fantastic body rhythm. very relaxed dancing.really like them...amazing.. I think they have great potential..who are they?

  • That's Gabriele Goffredo - Antonia Goffredo, ITA... I like them not my personal fav from the feild (hate her restricted style dresses) but they are moving up in the ranks, they made the finals at the world championships and finishes 6th!

  • what's name of the first cha cha song?

  • great second cha cha ! does anybody know the name otf the second cha cha?

  • the song is called "in theses shoes" by kirsty maccoll

you can find in on youtube;)

  • Ah, feel free to remove my comment. I wasn't paying attention when I was going through the videos. Didn't realise this was the world games instead of the world latin championships.

  • You might want to fix the title of this video. This is the quarterfinals, not the semifinals.

    Quarterfinals = 24 couples.

    Semifinals = 12 couples

  • Thanks

  • but can you count 24 couples...i dont think so...these are the semifinals...there is even a list with the couples--> 13 couples;)

  • @AceyBlade I think the title of this video is correct. There are only 6 couples in each heat so this is the semifinals. I wish that the Philippines has a representative in this competition.

  • wats the second cha cha song please
