It's used to help retrain their brains to stop ignoring when they pee. Of course they're going to pee with it on for a while at first, then they begin to wake up right as they start to go...then they wake up BEFORE they pee. It's a process

At that point when the alarm is heard by the child either just minute or seconds before he or she pees, that if the child is not a deep sleeper, it seem to me by the time he or she get up or start walking to the bathroom they would have already started peeing or already wet themselves.
