@amerritt84 You see, when they heard about the coaching vacancy at Michigan Tom Brady and Charles Woodson called up the AD and made sure that he knew how important Brady Hoke was to their careers and in their lives. Gary Moeller hired him and Loyd Carr named him the only Associate Coach on the staff. So basically when Michigan fans want an expert opinion about Michigan football we'll stick with Bo or the NFL MVP or NFL Defensive Player of the Year or Coach Carr instead of a petulant spammer.
In choosing Brady Hoke for Michigan Dave Brandon could've went 2 ways, he could've followed the hype machine that picked Jamarcus Russel as the next John Elway, or he could've followed the pattern of every school to win the BCS National Championship. I'm so glad he made the choice that wins instead of the choice that appeases all the expert-crackpot armchair-quarterbacks of America who brag about preseason rankings.
Gene Chizik, Chip Kelly, Nick Saban (@LSU), Les Miles (@LSU), Urban Meyer, Mack Brown, Jim Tressel, Bob Stoops....what do they all have in common? They all could count their head coaching experience on 1 hand before moving to a major program and playing for the National Championship. All had no major HC experience, no big name, bounced around from job to job, and moved to the big job where they had previous ties to play for it all. Brady is tough. Back in the day when he was at Michigan we dominated teams on the line of scrimmage and the defense played very physical. It's exactly what we have to do. It's a great hire!
2 wins against winning teams last year @ SDSU. He might be a great hire, but that's based on nothing. There is not even evidence that he's a good coach, let alone Michigan material. If you think he's a great hire based on what he's SAYING so far, I can remember getting fired up by my 7th grade basketball coach....then we went out and got beat by 50 points. But hey, I was F*CKING FIRED UP!!!!!!! I'd also like to mention that Hoke throws the ball even more than Rodriguez......puzzling hire.

By the way Sdsu gave tcu the hardest fight of the year and lost barley at TCU. Even closer than the Wisconsin game. He was smart enough to hire Mattison he got DR to come back and the rest of the team. Also the past players love him. Hardly anyone can win when first starting but you have to look at what did he do after he lea
@stubkar It would be worse/sloppy under Miles, and Harbaugh would be good for 1 season and then leave for the pro's. Patterson is nice but Hoke is The Man. He got Ball State ranked when Rod couldn't get Blue ranked, he took Americas worst program in SDSU and turned the same players into a competitive team that gave TCU a better showing than Wisconsin. He would die for U of M and loves being a mentor. He hired Greg Mattison who Urban Meyer calls the best recruiter alive. "Can't Wait!"

If only we can get our talent on offense playing a spread/west-coast hybrid effectively as the defense slowly matures...
