Rev i did notice e s file explorer has a update. I get the same pop up your device isnt compatible. My e s file is version 1.4 . I dont know if theres a way to reroot this or to get around these problems. So i can follow through with editing the prop

Hi Rev, i messaged you a couple weeks ago because my herotab c8 kept saying test failed and you suggested finding another file explorer, i found one called ghost commander that i think might work but its confusing to me as far as what i'm supposed to select. its not as simply layed out as es file explorer was. can you give me any help? thanks so much. very frustrating and im rather new at all this. but your video was really easy follow.

I used robtorp11 suggestion and changed model to PG86100 and brand to Sprint Now Backstab works(was locking up) and order and chaos is smoother! What do i need to rename my HTC incredible to to be able to play these games?

reverendkjr, i have a white herotab c 8 that i rooted. i am getting the test failed after superuser access. is there anything i can do so i can get the games i want to play on android without the sorry your device isnt compatible ?

@b4heaven100 Some versions of ES File Explorer do not play friendly with some devices. My recommendation is to try to find an older version of ES File Explorer, OR find a different file explorer app that allows root access to mod your build.prop. Without changing the build.prop file, I doubt you'll get those games to work.

I found that for Gameloft games that editing the Build.prop for the Evo 3D works best. It has primarily the same processor and gpu as the Touchpad. The files downloaded from Gameloft are device dependent. When using the GT-I9100 Order & Chaos would stutter on area transitions and some maps wouldn't display. I reinstalled using PG86100 (Evo 3D) as model and Sprint as brand it ran smooth as silk. It might not matter from a general standpoint but definitely helps with Gameloft.

Hey Rev, great videos! I am running the CM7 alpha3.5. When I choose Root

Explorer, it says that it gives Superuser access but then says "sorry, test failed..." I did have the xron version installed prior to alpha 3 so I would imagine that may have something to do w/ it. So I went xron - alpha 3 - alpha 3.5. Is there another way to mount the file system outside of Root Explorer?

@madmaxq89 I've been told that the most recent version of ES File Explorer does not play friendly with our device, no matter what build you are using. If you can find an older version of ES File Explorer on the internetz, that will be the easiest approach.

Hey Reverend, great video! I have one hiccup however: Adrenaline 6 will now install and run, but the textures are often incorrect or mirrors of other moving objects (e.g. completely white sky or the sky is a mirror of the road below, moving just like the road on the bottom of the screen). Same thing happens for Brothers In Arms 2 by Gameloft. Any ideas how to fix it? I have a Touchpad with Cyanogen 7.1...

@Sp33draca Mine does that on occasion as well. I found that a reboot gives different results. I also reinstalled the app once to fix it. It's random... and annoying.

I'm running the xron modification on cm7, and when I check root explorer, it goes through the superuser stuff, but then tells me it is not compatible with my phone. Any advice?

@nickEXIA Probably not. That is why we make a backup. If it fails, then you can restore the backup using ADB. I've edited my build.prop numerous times on my XT720 and never had it break on me.

Mine doesnt save... After giving it the superuser rights i even restarted, still not able to save... what seems to be the problem? GT-I9000 is the Galaxy S2, could we use the Galaxy Tab GT-P7500 instead to get access to tablet apps?

Third and last question: Ist that ICS running on your Touchpad??? or just a theme in 2.3.7 alpha 3?

@sam4sb Make sure you gave root access AND mounted the system. Were you able to make a backup of the file somewhere else? Try editing the backup. As far as what device you choose to use, try it. You make get good results. And no, this is not ICS, it is a Theme Chooser item. Check my channel for a video about it.
