I just love this! 13 seconds of pure nostalgic bliss!!!!!! I bought an old big box Intervision version of 'The Exterminator' on VHS and not necessarily for the film but mostly for...
1. This logo because I've always found it creepy..
2. Trailers for 'Zombies' a.k.a. Dawn of the Dead "Cerfificate X!" and 'The Brood'
Gotta say.... there's something truly creepy about the VHS crackly almost grim reception that you just don't get on DVD. The above logo was taken from the UK version of Romero's Dawn of the Dead. Trailers included Rabid and Night of the Living Dead. I'm so gonna have a VHS night this weekend.
@Kethtgi Right on! to me DVD is shit and has no character in my opinion. I have resorted to buying VHS again just for the sake of having crackles as part of my viewing pleasure and being able to watch video logos that you dont really get on DVD.
It was my birthday recently and was lucky enough to recieve 'The Amityville Horror' on VHS in the big box pre-certificate - crackly indeed!!
Alpha had the rights to quite a number of cult or offbeat films in the UK. Their logo usually meant that you were in for something grim like Creepshow or the Exterminator!
Mark Foster from Foster the People gets "stimulated" by this logo.

@stuh1975 I always associate it with the early Cronenberg films.

For some reason, this jingle reminds me of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2.

Thankyou LadyDong,
For me... it reminds me of my dad telling me what a terrible film we're about to watch.... but it helped make me the guy I am.... Can't be all bad.
