  • OMG so fucking cool :)))))

  • thats heaps great :)

how did you get the footprints in the snow? im trying to make a snow scene myself

  • Lol idk how but it's kind of cute. Very good work, though.

  • lolwut... Reminds me of a Grunt from Halo for some reason...

  • Gmod? lools like it

  • WOW!

  • That's so awesome. How did you do the footprints? I never knew how to make impressions in meshes like that! This was your maya fundamentals class? Wow, I really got screwed with my 3d max class XD

  • anyone know a tutorial so i could model and animate a mech like this in Rhino?

  • agree, pretty well done...

  • Noooooo!!! It killed my Water Vaporator! How will the Sand People raid our water supply now!?

  • apart from maya which other software is used?

  • funny and well made!!! congratulations!

  • Wow, I'm very impressed! The animation and sound quality is simply insane for a class project! I hope you got extra credit!

  • Great Animation .. Congratulation !!

  • cool, robot defies all laws of phisics with its flight capabilities , but cool

  • woow awesome! how did you make the snow compress, and the sound is really greate, how'd you make it? and the lacer???? :D

  • very nice

  • funny looking mech

  • The pixar spoof at the beginning was more involved and better done than the main animation. It's still not too bad overall though.

  • looks like the Death Star attack on Alderan but (Mech Style)

  • That was funny

  • The walking cycle was especially impressive. It didn't just "float" across the landscape like a feather.

  • uhhh...whoa!

    Keaneu Reves

    Seriously - fantastic job!

    "A -" (I'm sorry, penmanship counts...)

  • Sure took his sweet damn time to attack.

  • Works brilliantly. The sound adds so much, and the mech has so much charactor :)

  • excellent man does maya have proper snow in it because I am a max user but just wondered if they both had similar stuff. Only thing is that wish people would stop jacking pixars title sequence, people should start coming up with their own.

  • the snow was made by using a combination of deforming terrain and complicated materials.

the snowflakes are snowsprites attached to particles that fall from a plane in the sky. the particles had quite a bit of Mel-scrip attached to them to make them act less uniform and allways aim at the chamera.

  • pezz, I freaking love this

  • that was great!

  • Hahaha, I like the beginning. It's a different version of Pixar's logo.

  • the chicken walking and running is the best, funny as

  • HAHA. Sweet!

  • :O *silence* AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH that was freakin amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! good work!

  • nice animation, i loved it all

  • awsome video

  • the jump and flying part is just awsome.. im in a school studyin maya.. and.. its pretty hard :P

  • Very good work! I'm still considering to buy the Maya Fundamentals. Can you tell me what kind of Maya skills you had before you began with the Maya Fundamentals tutorials?

I know what the result of the tutorial should be and you just gave it a great personal touch! Keep up the good work!

  • I am right now taking the Mastering Maya Fundamentals and you do not need to know anything but how to use a computer :)

  • Very nice video! Good work

  • cool!

  • Should have blown more stuff up?

Sure that would be cool. But what he is learning here is what is called FUNDAMENTALS! Actually this is WAY more than that.

Great, great animation! I saw this on the BuzzTV live show a while back =) very nice

  • JAJAJAJ LOL nice work! congrats is good!

  • Wow this is brilliant - Im new to maya and im about to purchase the DVD of the class they have for sale.

What were your Maya skills like before you began the class? Did it teach you alot?

    Thanks

    Well Done ;)

  • eh, okay. You could have framed it a little better. I personally think that the pixar logo spoof at the begining is better than the actual movie

  • nice but I agree, you should have blown more stuff up

  • this is all a tutorial so he did it all the same as he saw on the tutorial.

  • Actually I changed quite a bit compared to the video training modules.

  • wow brilliant

u should make more and poston youtube

  • cool!

you did a pretty good job on the snow fx

    keep on!

  • awesome!

  • Pretty good. I have to agree with the review from the buzz people. the xrtra touches would add alot. if anything i would touch up on the legs when hes running, thats the only thing that stuck out to me. what was used to make the footprints?

  • I agree on the review too :) But do keep in mind there were time constraints hehe. Once all particles were baked the scene was running at around 2fps inside Maya, so it was not fun at all to work with in the end. I used particles for the footprints in some places, and blendshapes in other places.

  • LOL yeah Time constraints suck. Nice job tho. must of took a litle while to render with all the particles in there.

  • Well it's not like it's easy to do..I think it's a great movie:) especially the way the snow reacts to the feet. nice job!

  • cool video but kinda boring....not much was put into it...would of been better if u have more then one mech and alot more things blowing up...thats just the way it goes
