  • OMG THEY JUST WON !MILLION DOLLAR FOR EACH STUDENT sCHOOL

  • Hammarby IF vs Djurgården IF did it!

  • Evangelicals are weird.

  • Taylor University I don't know where the HELL you are. But you guys are ok in my book!

  • Love it! Finally an original college sports idea...everything else is a "bite" from another school...

  • Love it!

  • this video proves nothing, as it has no sound...

  • hahahah

  • do they have a :) football team

  • @jomolee they do, actually

  • I LOVE TAYLOR UNVERSITY <3

  • I visited the Taylor campus yesterday. I am DEFINATLY applying! It's an amazing atmosphere!

  • @Gillianfan85 definitely. Those red squiggly lines under words are there for your benefit.

  • @pro385 uhm.... no, ironical isn't a word. It's IRONIC.

As in "I find it ironic 3 seconds on Google could have saved YOU the embarrassment.

  • roncalli high school in indianapolis does it better

  • that's freaking cool...

  • we're doing this for our high school game this friday. it definitely wont be this epic, but it should be fun:)

  • This video makes me miss Taylor! '08!

  • man my school is hating on this schools swag. were doing the same, only its after the 8th point, which to me makes no sense.

  • i live 5 minutes from where silent night as first performed (in oberndorf, austria) so seeing this is quite weird.

  • kind of makes me feel better about college sports, they didn't mention that the head coach does not wear shoes as a reminder of thoses in society who are poor and that money is raised for charity.....I hope the team they were beaten didn't feel like the washington generals or anything.

  • @BEASTIE4RMDAB applying "FOR", not to. Good luck.

  • SI sent me here. Taylor had the best summer basketball camps back in the 80's and 90's. BTW pretty neat tradition.

  • @kep0v - This is in Upland, IN

@MrBrassMonkey12 - I saw this in SI also, and had to come see it right away.

  • This is awesome. I was just wondering though, what made Taylor University start this tradition?

  • So what the hell is the story behind this? WHY is there a "silent night?"

  • @1979Tron Its taylor's unique way of celebrating Christ, His birth, and the song, "silent night." Taylor is a Christian University. For four years in a row, TU has been rated as the number one regional midwest college by US News and World Report.

  • This is soooo awesome!!!!

  • i saw this in sports illustrated!

  • @MrBrassMonkey12 yep i saw this there to the poems good

  • so why do they do this?

  • where is this located

  • @Kep0v A small town called Upland, Indiana. About an hour north of Indianapolis

  • @Kep0v Taylor is located in Upland, Indiana about an hour north of Indianapolis.

  • pretty much everyone on this board less and except myself is an idiot.

  • One of the most famous Taylor University alums is, my buddy, Dennis Young.

  • "ironical" is the adjective form of "ironic" so please don't call people idiots when they arent in the wrong.

  • The other team is probably like WTF it's only 10 pts.

  • Nice! Looks like an awesome tradition, and a great time for the fans!

SuperNewmex: wow dude, way to fail hard. To the few of you that voted that comment up, keep you xenophobia at home, and just enjoy the video ffs.

  • I go to Taylor, and this is one of the most looked-forward-to nights there. It's extremely fun. @mattymo56 it's just whenever we pass 10 points. After that it's a madhouse, we stand and scream the rest of the game, and constantly chant. The other teams hate it haha

  • I don't understand, only on the 10th one? is it every 10 points? what happens when they get 11 you can't cheer?

  • @mattymo56 they pretty much cheer the rest of the game. It just creates a lot of anticipation waiting until the 10th point. I went to taylor 04-08

  • Yawn

  • This is brilliant. Fun and I'll bet it gives them a massive psychological advantage over the opponents.

  • This is really awesome!

Except for the fact that their arena looks like a high school basketball court lol.

  • @Pharafly It's D3 you think every college team has 15000 seat arenas? This is actually on the large side for a D3 arena.

  • Brilliant idea, would of loved to have been there! The fun is taken out of sport these days with the money men taking over things. Happy christmas everyone!

  • This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen....ever.

  • @getair1 why is it dumb?

  • @getair1 look in the mirror ;]

  • why the 10th point?

  • Dude Slipknot mask!!!!! Freak yeah dude!!! 2:28

  • But there is some cheering on those early buckets. Is that people that don't know, or is it from the bench?

  • this is awesome lmao

  • I find it "ironical" that people in the Netherlands like to make up words. The word is "ironic"...idiot.

  • @SuperNewmex "Ironical" is clearly a word. As in: "I find it Ironical that someone from the Netherlands knows your language better than you do".

3 seconds on Google could have saved you the embarrassment.

  • @pro385 In the U.S., ironical is an archaic form of the word, one that is technically correct, but will elicit laughter from any American audience, as if you just used a word like "betwixt" or "forsooth" (which you can also find in the dictionary). It is used in British English with more regularity though, so someone from the Netherlands may be more apt to consider it a "normal" English word, resulting in the current confusion. Technically you're right. There's just more to it than that.

  • @pro385

People wouldn't say Ironical they would just say Ironic as in: "I find it ironic that someone from the Netherlands knows your language better than you do"

  • @pro385 It is a word yes, but I find it ironic that you don't know ironical is actually synonymous with sarcastic, even though you are insulting someone for not knowing the word.

Taking the extra 3 seconds to click on a link from the aforementioned Google search could save you the embarrassment in any future endeavors.

  • @pro385 Yeah too bad you can't use it in that sense... You've made an ironical statement there, SuperNewmex. 3 seconds in a dictionary could have saved you the embarrassment.

  • @SuperNewmex Consult a dictionary before calling someone an idiot. Ironical is a word.

  • "In one of the greatest traditions in all of college sports" hahahahaha

  • Highlight of a student's life at this university. haha. FAIL.

  • I find it ironical that sports is so important - too important - in the USA, and yet almost half of the population is overweight.

  • THAT'S EPPPIIICCC.

  • nice

  • @BEASTIE4RMDAB Its a great school for more than just Silent Night. We are all about campus traditions! We're one big family here, and we're always wanting more family members!!! You won't ever regret coming here!

  • @snowbrdr88 dude you sound like a brainwashed kid who gets locked up in a dark closet for like 5hours a day. (i see too many scary movie previews.. i know)

  • they have a huge college wide christmas party afterwards

  • Sweet

  • Very cool! Great tradition!!!

  • That is pretty damn cool...

  • Fail

  • Great Video!

  • I don't get it... why do they do this?

  • @czvo Because they don't have a serious team and they need gimmicks like this to gain notoriety, not to mention they live in Indiana where there is nothing to do.

  • @czvo simply a tradition, and its fun to blow off some energy just before finals!

  • @czvo because it's awesome.

  • I have to know how this started! It's important.

  • @GoldeneyePwner I was told it was started somewhat as a gag by the Football team back in 95-96 season, and just took a life of its own. :)

  • love the school spirit.--- good stuff from Franklin College

  • Excellent video, Cameron! Loved watching it and hearing your voice-over. Have a great Christmas!

  • What a cool tradition and a nice job of reporting it!!

  • This video brings back great memories of Taylor University. My four years at Taylor will be counted as some of the best years of my life!

  • this is the greatest thing ive ever seen in college basketball, or most any sport for that matter. i love it!

  • more spirit, from a school that probably can't fill our gym, than we have ever had.

  • this is great!!

  • Huzzah Taylor! I miss Silent Night games :(

  • this is such awesome spirit. and my boyfriend had that penguin suit for halloween =P

  • thats awesomee(:

    i wanna go theree!

  • lol
