I don't have Skyrim. But my mom almost ran over a kitten a few weeks ago and brought him home, now he lives with me and I named him Meeko.

I was on my way to adopt Meeko, then on the way there a dragon attacked me, out of the corner of my eye I got a glimpse of Meeko helping me fight the dragon before he was killed.

I googled EVERYTHING trying to find out how to resurrect an npc animal.

I literally started crying and felt horrible. :(

You had the same reaction as me, when I found meeko's shack, and realized what happened to his owner ;-; (I didn't read the journal yet) funny story though, I refused to bring meeko with me cause I'm afraid he or she will die, but I felt like visiting the shack, so I fast travelled over there. and as soon as it finished loading, a fucking dragon landed right behind me, so I had to fight the damn thing using the shack as cover..!
