Frankly , having llistened to his ROCK IN RIO solo with rhianna.. i found myself thinking.. GOD, he is at the TOP. ROCK ON NUNO, we love you.
A lot of people seem to be giving Nuno crap for doing this but hey, at least she used a good live band and actually sang...I give her respect for that, even that's rare these days...
Good move on Nuno's part..... he's reinventing himself and garnering a new audience and a new reputation so he can propel whatever personal music projects he does on a go forward. He's the only reason I'm watching this and everyone else too.... so I guess it's working. Nuno's all the buzz.

This is great for nuno and extreme.. He's becoming more famous by playing with rihanna. Also rihanna is an amazing performer and her music is awesome so why not! She's like the biggest thing at the moment. Most guitarists would be honoured to play for her.. Go Nuno! you are an open minded, fully polished musician.. he can play anything!

Obviously Nuno is a virtuoso... And Rihanna is a great pop artist, so it makes sense for them to work together.. Nuno has always been very eclectic in his approach to music and i think this time with Rihanna was a way to branch out and play someone else's music and keep fresh inspiration for his own creativity. And I'm not much into most pop music, but by following Nuno's work it has led me to discover some great songs by Rihanna that I wouldn't have found otherwise. thanks be to serendipity!

I think Nuno sounds good playing w/ Rihanna. They sound great together! I love when they do the song "Umbrella"! Nuno has always been very eclectic so this doesn't suprise me at all because it still sounds like him.
I like Nuno, but I think this would sound better with a more metal tone (and I am so sick of metal tones too lol). That said, I love his tone and he is great of course. I hate it when people look at playing guitar as a job as a bad thing. He has filled in over the years for many artists and I knew that 20 years ago. I got to talk to him in person back then just before a benefit concert and he is really down to earth. People kept walking by and asking ME who he was lol.

i've heard that John 5 and other shredding guitarists play on session tracks or play live with pop artists because they say it helps hone their rhythm guitar playing, not being able to solo away and having to lock in with groove of every song helps open up their playing styles.

Actually, it's Rihanna's Direction in music that has changed. Rated R has more of a Rock and Funk edge to it which is right up Nuno's alley. That's why he agreed to work with her. If it were just for money he would have accepted many other offers from pop artist that wanted to work with him. He also said that Rihanna is a big hit in the Bettencourt household, so don't be so quick to hang the sellout on him. He is bridging the gap between Music now, and the way it should be.
R u serious? If I wanna see Nuno I have to go buy tickets to a rhianna show? That is a tough call. I luv Nuno, but rhianna would just mess it up for me. Unless nuno got to do like multiple 15 min solos then yes it would be worth it.

u know guys, my colleagues at work, new generation (newbies) who don't who know Nuno is, they were wowed by his guitar playing, for them it was a blast, they were saying "this guitarist is god damn Son of a B***)... for me i was flattered to have him there and to hear this as i know him... after i told them who he is, some of them said that he was with them in VIP lounge... wish i was there ...
Beauitul, I think Nuno is doing this for both, money and to do something different, which are both good reasons. As well for exposure, which he is getting...the man can do anything..LOVE watching him funk it up to Umbrella, I like any music with a good solid beat, Rhianna's band is tight, her voice has potential, she is very young, I think will get more solid vocally with age..

You know, charlotte, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but unless you know Nuno personally or unless he told you why he's doing it, I think it's ignorant and small minded of you to assume he's only in it for money. i support your idea, i was there.... i've seen him with my own eye, he was really having fun... it didn't even seem to be hard for him... IMO, its a minor guitar skill for him... but he is the only 1 capable of doing other styles than rock and metal... he is a pure musician ...
