  • Subhumans who throw ANYTHING at the band should be shot after the show, or between songs, by the person who either got hit, or was nearly hit. And they should get to choose the way and place of the shooting, I favor a beanbag sac to the fork. I was lucky enough to see Crowded House in a 300 person show in Austin, and I was in the front, standing under an oak tree. Neil said he loved Austin, went driving in our hills and it reminded him of home. Great compliment seeing he's from NZ=Gorgeous!

  • in all honesty RATM are fucking shit compared to crowded house and neil has more talent in his toenail clipping than the dicks from RATM

  • I love RATM but these fans just like 90% of Rage's fans are just........cant think of a good enough insult. These guys are great too and they don't deserve to be treated that way. No one does....except LIMP BISCUT or however you spell it.

  • lol Buddy u rite u rite!

  • hu i dont understand i am living in holland but why they sing with him because he did bad?

  • @supDBZgamer They sang with him because 1) they Love the song, so they sing along, and 2) because some scag threw a bottle at the microphone and took out his sound microphone briefly, so they kept the song going. Perfectly right especially considering the lyrics at that point in the song. "They come to build a wall between us, we know that they won't win" and they never will, the wall builders. :) I love Crowded House!!!

  • Man this was so painful to experience! They should of been playing at a different stage. I'm surprised there's so many people singing along in this video because where I was at, 50ft from the stage, people where chanting "RAGE" and moshing. I wouldn't of been surprised if they walked off in the middle of the set, pissed off cause of the horrible crowd response. But then again no one was there to see Crowded House reunite, they were there to see Rage reunite.

  • i was walking to the car as "rage" played last year. i was into them back in the day, but then....well i guess i grew up. they had to use a gimmicky ploy (you know the one) to make there show seem like it meant something. i hate when bands get all political on stage. i didn't pay to hear you preach to me, i mean shut the f*ck up and play!!

  • Neil later commented on Australian TV that performing right before Rage Against the Machine was obviously not the wisest... but he did say that it was their decision, and they didn't expect "a warm cuddly welcome back... we knew it was gonna be tough"

    but they handled it superbly.

  • Crowded House!

  • what a twat...it's a festival, if you want to see a band independently, eff off to one of their gigs and be a knob there.

    :)

  • that was fucked up!! Crowded house is a briliant band , and they handeld that incident perfectly! The stupid MF that threw the bottle , is just an real dick head!! .

  • yea, when it became standing room only, those people were there to see rage. and should have seen it comnig and prob did. they kept playing, know though that people did sing along with him. but not to worry, manu chao made things all better.

  • Manu Chao did make things better....dont know who put these fools in the same lineup, they should of been on like at mid day or something...

  • Neil Finn and Crowded House are class acts. These comments from Rage fans appear to suggest that throwing a bottle at Neil Finn was the next step in a logical process: "Crowded House should have known we like heavy music, and we are intolerant of things we don't like, so they should get off the stage." Are they animals? No, so let's not let them off the hook so easily.

  • crowded house took the spot for that stage...

they should have been on the outdoor theatre

  • yea, i was there somewhat near the front, on the side railing going down the middle, when these do0ds came on, water bottles were flying, and when he said soemtihng like rage is gona be badass the crowd went crazy. it was cool.

  • Yeah...I guess that pacified the weak minded, shaved head masses. Oh..how much better the world would be if Rage fans and the like were fed to the sharks.

  • if i'd been thee i'd have looked for the guy that threw the bottle just to punch him!

  • my friend threw that bottle!

    it was full of piss!

dont message me saying "fuck you" because i didnt throw the bottle.

  • your friend sucks dude

  • we wanted to see RAGE...but i could somewhat tolerate Crowded House...my friend hated them.

im not bashing them...but they should have known the crowd would be hectic because everyone wanted Rage

  • it's not the bands fault though it's the organisers

  • FUCK YOU!

  • Hope they kick his ass till his nose bleeds,

I must say CH's new drummer is Great

  • who the hell's the idiot that threw the bottle? i'm gonna kick his ass someday!

  • Crowded House are great. Neil Finn is a humble and intelligent person. This video shows that.

  • I was watching the webcast and didn't even see this happen. I thought it was an audio prob. and thought it was awesome that fans were singing. Neil Finn has so much class.

  • RATM is the second most overrated band ever. What's funny is that the guys in Rage wouldn't have disrespected CH that way. Leave it to idiot fans.

  • Very Cool to see Crowded House Reunited. Sad to have missed the webcast.....

ah well , do hope that they will be back touring soon.

    leq

  • What a shame that a songwriter of such exceptional talent, a such a decent man, as Neil FInn should be treated like that. And if the idiots throwing things imagine that would impress Tom Morello, then they're sadly mistaken.

  • Finn is a good songwriter, but so were those gimps in Air Supply.

Fact is, the majority of the crowd were Rage fans.

Honestly, if you like that type of music, there's no fucking way you're going to put up with Crowded House, especially all the shit you've gone/are going through to be somewhat close to the stage.

The Village People never opened for Slayer, thus Crowded House was put in a bad time slot. Deal with it

  • I am a Kiwi so I guess that makes me a bit of a Crowdie fan by default, and I thought this festival was a strange choice for their first concert since reforming. I would have loved to have seen some of the other acts on the bill, not many big acts make in this far downunder.

  • Nobody is arguing that it wasn't bad scheduling. But bad scheduling doesn't justify such disgraceful behaviour. Deal with that.

  • Neil Finn is in the same class as Lennon and NcCartney as a songwriter. Any band is lucky to be on the stage with him.

  • oh my god!!!! Crowded House fans sound like the dumbest music fans ever. I know this stupid comment isn't typical of most CH fans, but still, you guys still don't know great music. But good luck to you guys singing in your cars.

  • You are obviously an idiot.

I am a huge Rage Against the Machine fan, as well as a Crowded House fan. Broaden your music taste, stop acting like the music you listen to is the only "great music" out there.

And yes if any member of RATM read your comment they would be disgraced to have you as a fan.

  • mate, great call, great call. i am also a massive RATM fan, and their reunion was amazing, but this is beautiful. there is no musician out there not a fan of neil finn, included those in rage.

  • Can anyone explain to me why Crowded House played at Coachella? That had to be one of the dumbest ideas ever, and it shouldn't surprise anyone that out of tens of thousands of rage fans that something should occur. I think crowded house was really lucky they only got pelted by a couple of bottles. Who the hell do they think they are? They are not worthy of tying Zach's shoes, let alone play on the same stage. Go play to another crowd, Coachella is way to fucking cool for Crowded House.

  • "Who the hell do they think they are"? Hmmm, let's see, they probably think they're one of the finest, most melodic pop/rock bands of all time - and they'd be right. On second thoughts, they probably *don't* think that - thankfully, their heads aren't far enough up their own asses, unlike some other people. Neil's behaviour in this very clip proves what a class act they are. It would take a hell of a lot more than some loserish, drunken Rage fan hurling a bottle to throw Crowded House. Legends.

  • "Way to fucking cool"? Crowded House is too fucking cool for you to ever comprehend you little douche-bag faux punk. Tom Morello is ashamed of you.

  • You don't know what cool is - Look at the rest of the bill - Never mind shouldn't be on the bill Crowded house should of topped the bill!!

  • They wrote some of the best songs in the world and pack more talent than Rage. Fucking sap of a fan deserves to get beaten, looking for some attention

  • what at true legeng neil finn is, i have only discovered this band in the last year, and am nly 18 but i cant listen to anything else and get the same feeling that a song is so complete. What a true artist....

  • True, it's just great music. Any appreciator of music who might not be into them must see that i's fine songcraft

  • I was there and I could see on the big screen that something hit Neil's mic. Couldn't tell what it was, though. I thought he was gonna stop the concert right there, but he managed the situation very well.

  • "And that bottle never hurt me... no, it never put me off!"... Personally I hope the twit who threw the bottle GOT what was coming to them. At least Neil Finn knew how to handle the situation in a professional manner. Many other artists wouldn't have pressed on...

  • I had heard about this happening...Neil handled it really well though (loved the improvised line about the bottle in the last verse :)) and props to the crowd for singing through it.

  • CH is the shit and is better now for the way they handled the situation

  • You can see at 00:42 the water bottle comes in from right on the big screen and hits Neil's mic, followed by the sigh of disgust from the crowd.

  • I still can't believe a fucking Rage fan took out Neil's mic with a water bottle. Now I see that they weren't on close-up when that happened (like they were in the attblueroom.) Question for those of you that were there...did you know what had happened at the time?
