@Worenx But the VC versions are emulated, and there are a few issues particularly with SMB 3. With SMB3 you get sloppy refreshing so there is a line of slowly refreshing graphics on the right side of the screen. The usual sign of something that is emulated badly. It's playable, but irritating.

This Mario All-Star Disc doesn't have anything else to give besides the same Mario All-Star that I already own. Nintendo is notorious for milking the sucess of its older games, but this takes the cake...
This package sold for $30 in 2010. It costs $21 total to download the same games included on this disc from the Virtual Console (it's the NES versions on the Virtual Console, but the games play virtually the same anyway). It'll take something mind-blowingly amazing to convince me that the disc is a better deal.
If there were more games in this package, I still wouldn't play this. I can get better visuals with emulators on a 1080p signal on my PS3. Jesus. I mean, it's still nice to plug it in and actually play the cartridge like I do every now and then but jesus.

There would have been a big box set containing all the Mario platforming games from the '80s, '90s, 2000s, and today, on different discs for the Wii. I would love it if there was SMAS, SMW, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxies 1 and 2, and NSMB Wii. That might cost half the price of a single PS3 console.
I feel sorry for the chumps who buy this specifically to play the games on the disc. It's an exact port of the SNES version of the game. The only reason anyone should even consider buying this is for collecting purposes only, if you REALLY wanna play these games without emulators, it's probably cheaper just to buy an SNES and the game online.

My Snes is at my mom's house and it doesn't work on any of my current HDTV's. I got Super Mario World on the Virtual Console. I got Yoshi's Island for my GBA and (for free!) on my 3DS. I got the 8-Bit originals for my Wii VC, too. In my particular case, this collection was a gift from up above!
And how much do you guys think three SNES games (yeah, I know they are all part of a single cart but you know how Nintendo is.) would cost you on the VC? I'm happy with it.

This is a fucking lazy port of the the SNES title Super Mario All-Stars. They should have included updated graphics, Super Mario World, and Super Mario Land 1 and 2 as well as the original Mario Bros. arcade title. This is a ripoff and disgrace.
@XinBiDe It's not a "fucking lazy port" of anything, it's simply a port. If you're asking for updated graphics (again, because All Stars already upgraded the graphics over the NES originals) and 4 extra games, you aren't asking for a port. You're asking for a remastered collection.
In case you didn't know, a port is when they take a game and copy it over to another system. And a "fucking lazy port" would be when it runs poorly (see Sonic the Hedgehog on GBA). This port is fine, though.

Actually this game is probably the rarest on wii believe it or not. If you have a copy that you have destroyed (seriously i dont understand how some poeple get their games into such bad shape) you will make more money than you probably paid for it in ebay.
If you have a sealed copy, keep it for a few years and it will be worth a mint ;)

I loved this game on the Super Nintendo but on the Wii it sucks because of the input lag. I press the jump button and Mario jumps a fraction of a second later and in many cases it makes me die. How do I fix this problem?

@randomenvelope Egg-laying does not determine gender in the Marioverse. Yoshi is normallu and popularly considered a male, and Birdo is also male but still lays eggs (and dresses female.

The topic hasn't really been addressed in later games; sometimes it's referred to as "she" and sometimes as "it". Also, Birdo spitting eggs doesn't mean anything, and Yoshi is considered a male by most.

Yeah, this release of All-Stars for Wii is pretty disappointing. I suppose it is good for people who have never played it, but like people have been saying they really should've at the very least included SMW.
Doesn't really matter to me though since I still have my SNES + games.
At least they pulled out all the stops for Super Mario 3D Land and Zelda Skyward Sword.. Now THOSE are a few games to get.
lol, I haven't played Sonic Generations and don't really know what kinda game it is, so take this with a grain of salt, but if Sonic has been going "from RPG, tennis, adventure, platform, then to raacing" whereas Mario has just been hopping around (i.e. platforming), it's because Mario doesn't need to do that to stay alive.
Mario survived 2D to 3D. Sonic didn't. It does make me a bit sad because I love Sonic, but we all know which is the superior platforming franchise by now.

A SNES ROM on a DVD is pretty disgraceful. Virtual Console and the like have really ruined game companies with the old games, when they used to bundle them or include them as bonuses for free. Or compile 20+ for a bargain bin game. Because, fuck, who would really pay for a 15 year old game?
This is more of something nice to look at rather than to play, but the contents are yawn-worthy, so it loses some value. And if you are a Mario fan, then you know how much they had to work with.
As someone who found this video by searching for videos about this game, and has no idea what "truckstin" means... You're trying too hard, and you're only occasionally slightly funny. Mostly, you're incredibly un-funny.
If you want people to like you, and go to you / recommend you for reviews, make an effort to make your vids "outsider-friendly" (not everybody knows wtf "truckstin" means), and make a slightly smaller effort in general 'cause you're trying too hard. Just focus on the review...

This is horrible. I have the Super Mario All-Star + Super Mario World cartridge for the SNES. It has more games on it and I got it for free...and it uses the epic SNES controller...this is horrible, because they didn't change anything from the original game. They could have at least included SM64...
All Stars was so awesome wen it first came out... anyone remember Nintendo Power magazine's challenge of beating Lost Levels without warping? If you mailed in a photo of you doing that, they sent you a "NO WARPING" iron-on patch with Mario on it. I got one :D

This is a fucking lazy port of the the SNES title Super Mario All-Stars. They should have included updated graphics, Super Mario World, and Super Mario Land 1 and 2 as well as the original Mario Bros. arcade title. This is a ripoff and disgrace.

@XinBiDe It's not a "fucking lazy port" of anything, it's simply a port. If you're asking for updated graphics (again, because All Stars already upgraded the graphics over the NES originals) and 4 extra games, you aren't asking for a port. You're asking for a remastered collection.
In case you didn't know, a port is when they take a game and copy it over to another system. And a "fucking lazy port" would be when it runs poorly (see Sonic the Hedgehog on GBA). This port is fine, though.

What I've done in my comment is completely reject the port and call for something new. Yes, a remastered collection. At no point in my brief comment did I say "I wish they added a bunch of stuff to this port." I just said, there should be more to it rather than just a port. And even though it is simply a port, it is still a lazy one because of the missed opportunity.

Actually this game is probably the rarest on wii believe it or not. If you have a copy that you have destroyed (seriously i dont understand how some poeple get their games into such bad shape) you will make more money than you probably paid for it in ebay.
If you have a sealed copy, keep it for a few years and it will be worth a mint ;)

I loved this game on the Super Nintendo but on the Wii it sucks because of the input lag. I press the jump button and Mario jumps a fraction of a second later and in many cases it makes me die. How do I fix this problem?

@randomenvelope Birdo was originally explicitly stated in the manual to be a male that thinks it's a girl. The topic hasn't really been addressed in later games; sometimes it's referred to as "she" and sometimes as "it". Note that this isn't evidence against it being trans-gender; trans-gender people would probably be offended if you called them the opposite gender of what they identify as. Also, Birdo spitting eggs doesn't mean anything, and Yoshi is considered a male by most.

Yeah, this release of All-Stars for Wii is pretty disappointing. I suppose it is good for people who have never played it, but like people have been saying they really should've at the very least included SMW.
Doesn't really matter to me though since I still have my SNES + games.
At least they pulled out all the stops for Super Mario 3D Land and Zelda Skyward Sword.. Now THOSE are a few games to get.

lol, I haven't played Sonic Generations and don't really know what kinda game it is, so take this with a grain of salt, but if Sonic has been going "from RPG, tennis, adventure, platform, then to raacing" whereas Mario has just been hopping around (i.e. platforming), it's because Mario doesn't need to do that to stay alive.
Mario survived 2D to 3D. Sonic didn't. It does make me a bit sad because I love Sonic, but we all know which is the superior platforming franchise by now.

A SNES ROM on a DVD is pretty disgraceful. Virtual Console and the like have really ruined game companies with the old games, when they used to bundle them or include them as bonuses for free. Or compile 20+ for a bargain bin game. Because, fuck, who would really pay for a 15 year old game?
This is more of something nice to look at rather than to play, but the contents are yawn-worthy, so it loses some value. And if you are a Mario fan, then you know how much they had to work with.

As someone who found this video by searching for videos about this game, and has no idea what "truckstin" means... You're trying too hard, and you're only occasionally slightly funny. Mostly, you're incredibly un-funny.
If you want people to like you, and go to you / recommend you for reviews, make an effort to make your vids "outsider-friendly" (not everybody knows wtf "truckstin" means), and make a slightly smaller effort in general 'cause you're trying too hard. Just focus on the review...

This is horrible. I have the Super Mario All-Star + Super Mario World cartridge for the SNES. It has more games on it and I got it for free...and it uses the epic SNES controller...this is horrible, because they didn't change anything from the original game. They could have at least included SM64...

All Stars was so awesome wen it first came out... anyone remember Nintendo Power magazine's challenge of beating Lost Levels without warping? If you mailed in a photo of you doing that, they sent you a "NO WARPING" iron-on patch with Mario on it. I got one :D
