@DnBrandom Thank you for that comment. I visited the USSR in 1975, and was astonished by the abysmal living standard and lack of basic goods,empty shops in the center of Moscow. Most here on the tube who admires communism has no idea what it looked like.

@Olebrucanism n assure you that I know what I saw, I was also in Roumania in 1976 and it was something similar. Shabby,poor,agrarian. The USRR astonished me the most, the GDR although a little better than USSR was nothing like the shopwindows and the wealth of west germany...
