They did do something to the West, they harbored Al Qaeda before the 9-11 attacks and then were unwilling to cooperate withe US as we entered their country with total justification and pursued OBL. Establishing democracies often requires the fighting of a civil war to free a people from non-demorcatic systems of government. We are right to ally with those who seek greater freedom.

Out of the three other army guys I was hanging out with, one had I think a bachelors and his pilots license (he was taking some test so he could fly in the army), a kid who graduated HS 2 years early, me (some college), and another guy who was I think studying at UofA.

It is a government primarily on paper, propped up by foreign money to support their interests. @denim98 Valid and truthful point. We didnt need to fight the taliban we could of used intelligence and cooperation to get the terrorists. The military campaign was counterproductive to the war on terror. However the USS Cole, bombings of US embassies, 9 11 where predominantly planned and executed by Saudis. Most of the foreign militants in Iraq came from SA. The Taliban had nothing to do with this.Pressure should of been put on Saudi Arabia and this extremism would of come to an end.
