Let me tell u a story there was someguy called captainbummer he was such a douchebag he had a band over his eyes to hide his ugly face. And he made alot of gay videos.
I could really see how this could be turned into some sort of fun informative children's videos... but I think it lacks a few things that'd make it so Obi one
@captainbummer (granted I've forgotten what I was initially going to say) However watching the video again to see if I remember what I was going to say. I think the turns to the side and making the "bummer" face take away from the video. I think you've got your highs and lows (pitch) in the right places (voice wise). I think you could use brighter colors and be more positive. As for being captain bummer, I think it could be used to convey a positive lesson
@captainbummer I mean like if you had a story and then first covered say a kid that doesn't have friends, because they are greedy with their toys, then finish the story with something positive like "but Sally didn't have to be lonely, so she made friends and started sharing her toys with her new friends" Idk, I think there SHOULD be more positive learning tv shows and things for small children these days where the message is clear, BUT it is entertaining like those we had when growing up.
@captainbummer Also, to add to that, I think that if more shows grew up with their viewers they would have longer life spans, and without just making leaps in time, but really growing up and adapting to what the target audience was familiar with. Just look at shows like Happy Days and see how long those lasted and why, The Fonz didn't do something outragous EVERY single episode, he was a complex character and all the characters grew and developed with the audience like children's shows should.
@Infernes17 Thank you so much for such thoughtful feedback! Stepping out of character, I completely agree that there is a great void/opportunity for kid shows that grow up with their audience. CB is intended to overreach that and derive humor from the complete inappropriateness of the content for the style it is delivered in. The demographic for CB is much smaller than what you suggest. It is a hobby that I don't have much time for, though I would love to start another project along your lines.
@captainbummer Well, all the same I watched it and was entertained personally. It was interesting. Was only suggesting how you may possibly expand the demographic if you were to turn it into more of a career and less of a hobbie, but sometimes that ruins the fun of a hobbie all together.
@Infernes17 It is a fantastic suggestion. The big question for me is does CB evolve in this direction or is it a completely new thing? CB is curently aimed at mature adults, which enables me to go way over the top and be inappropriate. If I really started telling kids that they couldn't be astronauts, even tastefully, I can imagine me running from a large lynch mob of angry parents. I suspect it would need to be a new character with less bummery lessons.
@captainbummer Well I couldn't see someone being a bummer in that aspect towards kids, and positive reinforcement is always the way to go, but a side character CB would be an interesting support character or something that included positive alternatives. Also I think it would be good to include the "bummer" side of things as though those things happen when people DON'T do the "right/better thing" . But all this of course would mean adapting it for children, interesting either way you choose.
@MyContext I think that's the right solution--CB obviously isn't for kids, though many folks don't get that. Now it's just a matter of time, money, and community.
every one will die sooner or later.... i know what this is, it is some random guys cry for help. midlife crisis plus not getting what he wanted as a kid equals +_+
@got2cups The same gosh darn giggly wiggly stuff that's been going on for thousands of years: corruption, exploitation, mass delusion, ... Why do you ask?

Why do people dislike captain bummer so much?

@ArgentDawn55 I suspect it is the fiendish plot of my arch-enemy: Rev. False Hope.

@captainbummer Create a new character...for the kids... Use this for the adults... This could be very good...
