The U.S. has been giving asylum to LGBT people from Jamaica and the Caribbean since 1994.
In 2010, at least 28 Jamaican LGBT people received asylum in the U.S., with a total of 38 from the Caribbean, including Jamaica. Source: Immigration Equality.
In addition to the U.S. and the U.K., LGBT people from Jamaica and the Caribbean are given asylum in Canada.
