  • why does this matter?

  • None of these hapless idiots even named a specific Bible verse. Obama completely fumbles the Sermon on the Mount (go figure!). He simply said he liked it, then launced into something completely different. Hill-Rod didn't name one. Gravel (athiest) of course, didn't name one. Biden IS a Pharisee - P.S. Old man, that's naming some people, not a verse. Kucinich noted some random prayer and Richardson did about as bad as Barry Boy. This all goes to show that Democrats are the party of Satan.

  • @ThePalinPatriot Good I hope they don't understand that filthy book, it's about evil anyway..

Secular and Atheist ALL THE WAY!

  • THis video is just a small taste of where this country is heading. towards disaster. Our forefathers loved God, not religion, and founded it's priciples on the Bible. Early spelling books used bible versus that used that particular letter of alphabet. Please read your history of America before you make comments!!!!!!!

  • OBAMA IS SUCH A LIAR , IN A SPEECH ON UTUBE HE MOCKS THE BIBLE AN DUSES THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT. LIAR LIAR YOUR PANTS ARE ON FIRE.

HOW ABOUT AN EYE FOR AN EYE IS ONLY FOR THE SIN OF ABORTION. ALL THESE PEOPLE ENDORSE ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE ABORTION WHICH IS MURDER.SO THEY ARE HTPOCRITES

  • Maybe I missed the question... don't seem to have seen any of them quote any Bible verse. May have to watch it again in slow motion. (And, btw... most of the comments I read here seem to have missed the point as well... wasn't an invitation to discuss religionl; it was an invitation to QUOTE a Bible VERSE, not offer a disseratation on it's values).

  • I have two questions for all of those out there who don't believe in Jesus or the Biblical presentation of God or the Bible itself...is there such a thing as right and wrong? And secondly, how do we determine it (right/wrong/morality/etc) if it does exist?

  • @andrewdreiling11 Absolutely there is a right and wrong. I imagine you base your right and wrong off the bible? So it's okay to own slaves? It's ok to physically abuse and even kill your child when he/she is disobedien? Why isn't pedophilia mentioned in the ten commandments? and since it isn't there, how do you know not to rape a child?

  • @JoNathon59704 You answered, so I presume you don't believe in Christ...but you didn't answer the second question. Answer the second question, and I'll try and address your questions.

  • @andrewdreiling11 I base my right and wrong on what I feel is right and wrong. "When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That is my religion." Abe Lincoln.

Mind you, I don't presume to speak for everyone. I only speak for myself.

  • @JoNathon59704 But you've got to see the problem with that logic. What about people who feel like being racist? Or people who feel like killing other people? What then? Don't you think we need an absolute standard that is higher than our feelings?

  • @andrewdreiling11 Sure, I would love to have a standard. I'm sorry to say the Bible is not that standard. The first three commandments were about God himself, then he said, take a day off. Then he said don't murder. Aren't his priorities a little far off? Why didn't he mention pedophilia, kidnapping, discriminate, polute etc...

Your god's moral code is way off.

  • @JoNathon59704 I asked if right & wrong existed. You said yes. Then I asked how one determines what is right & wrong. You said your feelings. I pointed out the problems with that. But let's just say that, for your sake, that your feelings are an accurate guide by which to discern wrong from right, & vice verse. Perhaps this God of the Bible has feelings, and maybe He feels like letting people know about them through the commandments written in the bible. Who are you to judge Him?

  • @andrewdreiling11 According to you and to him, I was created in his image. I assume that my conscience was also made in his image and my conscience knows that pedophilia is rigth up there with murder(on my moral scale) & it surpasses using the lords name in vain, in the realm of what Not to do. Based off that I think I have a right to question him and judge his character/moral code.

We are a flawed species, your god should have taken longer than a day and some dirt to create us

  • @JoNathon59704 I'm sorry if something awful like pedophilia has happened to you or someone you know and love. That is absolutely wrong, and I can promise you that God hates pedophilia...remember the part in the bible when the little children come to Jesus? The custom of that day, from what I understand, is that children shouldn't bother such an important person like Jesus. But He welcomed them and blessed them, and warned of the consequences to anyone who would hurt them.

  • @andrewdreiling11 furthermore, your god is a racist, violent, chauvinist. You just don't want to accept it. I feel it is more blasphemous for you to not follow the word of the bible, in it's entirety, than it is for me to completely reject it.

  • First of all, who gives a shit if any of them could name a verse. Secondly, they all did pretty well did they not?

  • @lynottlives They all did horribly. Not a single one mentioned a bible verse. I am not even a christian and I can tell you a bible verse. Sh!t, all they had to do was say John 3:16. And Bam, question answered.

  • @lynottlives I give a s#$@. And yeah, I thought they didn't do too badly, except it might have been impressive for one of them to name the chapter and verse. And didn't one of them quote the prayer of a "saint"? That's not exactly a bible verse.

  • @andrewdreiling11 Does it really matter if any of the presidents actually believe in god or not? How is it going to affect your life in anyway, it's well known most of the founding fathers hated religion, So...again, why exactly do you give a shit?

  • The bible sucks balls!

  • The founding fathers hated religion and the bible, the country has become dumber due to religion.

  • @angitoamadeo I can tell you're dumb by what you just said.

  • @angitoamadeo you're an imbecile if you actually believe that. Read what they stood there.

  • what happened to sepration in religion and secularism...in the constatution and the bible...give to ceaser what is ceaser give to julius what is julius....DOH

  • Whether Americans like it or not, this country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Go read the Bill of Rights. The fact that none of these stooges can actually site at least one scripture is mind boggling. Especially since some "claim" to be Christians. They need to look this verse up Matthew 7:21-23.

  • @BaylorBear1028

Can you cite where in the bill of rights it says that America is founded on Jeudo-Christian principles? Though not...

  • @BaylorBear1028 And where does it say this in the bill of rights?

  • @BaylorBear1028 you are absolutely correct that they are stooges for not being able to come up with one bible verse. But you are wrong to say the Bill of Rights makes mention of the a judeo-christian god. It makes mention of a mono-theistic god.

  • I like exodus 35-2

" For six days you shall work, on the sabbath you shall rest. Anyone who does work on sunday shall be put to death"

We mos def need a bible based government it has such good morals!!

  • Ezekiel 25:17 "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison & destroy brothers. And you will know my is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

  • Thing is, any president holding strong religious beliefs is liable to let those permeate his policy. A christian is not less liable to let his beliefs favor his own group then a muslim, atheist or any other. Especialy with the form christianity takes in america, just look at ppl like bachman.

Religious beliefs should have NO influence whatsoever in elections, it is a private matter.

Also when you say ppl will die for God, having a religiously motivated government is a very scary thought.

  • These people are not quoting NOT ONE WORD OF THE HOLY BIBLE... They don't know their Bible... Admit it... They only quoted what they have heard, and have been taught...*and remembered* .. Even satan knows the Bible...and he twists the TRUE MEANING OF GOD'S WORD...each and everyday, to confuse Christians... If you don't know Jesus, and the God/Creator who designed you... then you are confused already. I pray that you are brought to the LIGHT.. soon. *God Bless, America* and it's leaders too

  • Typical liberals. They can quote the bible but not interpret its LOVE.

  • Honestly, this kind of shit should be left out of political debates.

  • i like duteronomy and all of its killing

  • What's the point of this....?? Why don't you just start asking what is your favorite Shakespeare quote?? Why does Bible get any special treatment at all?

  • @Casshyr because its the world biggest religion and the biggest religion in the states, it means more to people than anything else, people would die for God, I dont think they would die for shakespeare!

  • @FredrickDeSherlock I thought the president is supposed to be the president for ALL. If he has to be a christian, then how can you be sure he'll be a fair president to the muslims, jews, hindu, atheist, etc americans.

A president that aligns himself too much to any of the religious groupings cannot be a president for all, since he'll support the claims of his own religion over the others.

Religion has no place in politics, the french revolution made won us that right

  • @capusvacans But if he was atheist, Hindu, Muslim etc. then he would support those claims other others, unless you elect an agnostic every time :) Certainly if any president claims to be christian they should not support one group other another, they should respect the rights of all

  • i don't see how this is relevant in todays society

  • not a single one actually mentioned a Bible verse. I don't like that at all. AT ALL. Probably why I'm as conservative as they come! God should be #1!!! Bye ya'll!!!!

  • holy shit. what else did they ask, "what's your favorite movie"?

  • Why the fuck do Americans obsess over religion in politics!? It shouldn't be anything to do with it!

  • Saint Francis? He was born approx. 1182. What does he have to do with a bible verse?

  • lol none could actually say the verse lol hilarious...

  • The Sermon on the Mount is not "a Bible verse." It spans several verses. The "Golden Rule" is also not a Bible verse. It is a theme found in all revealed religions Love is not a Bible verse. The prayer from St. Francis is not a Bible verse. The Good Samaritan is not a Bible verse - it is a parable that spans several verses. Christ's warning of the Pharisees is not a Bible verse -- it also spans several verses.

  • @1GodOnlyOne So what? I'm sure this meant more to people than quoting Bible references (eg: John 3 vs 2 or whatever).

  • @1GodOnlyOne And this is Sooo strange to me. It's a political debate. How is it relevant what their favourite Bible verse is? Why are their religious beliefs considered relevant at all?

  • None of them named one. Bahahaha

  • Who cares.

  • @socratesandlavagods You care enough to comment.

  • @1GodOnlyOne I think you completely missed the point of my comment, and moreover, it took 2 seconds to type and press enter. Herm.

  • My favourite part of the Bible is when it tells you that you must take your unruly child to the edge of town and stone them to death.

It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :]

  • @foojuice101 It doesn't say that.

  • @1GodOnlyOne

    Yes it does...in Leviticus

  • Umm...who gives a fuck about his favorite verse, or if he's ever even read the damned bible. He might not even be Christian! We're supposed to separate the state from church, however it seems if you're not Christian in SOME way, you simply can't run for politics in this country, and that's a damn shame.

  • @hadesflames5 That's to keep government out of the church not vice versa. Read what it actually says.

  • Big... deal?

So what? If you need your president to be a Christian, well, I pity you. I'm a former Christian (still theist) and I'm not attacking personal faith (although organized religion IS a bad thing-The Vatican for example), but if you need your leader to be able to quote a phrase from your favourite book, well, you have very, very low expectations and you're far less of a cynic/dissapointed-idealist than you should be, for your own well-being.

  • @MisterDyslexo Not only Christians venerate the Holy Bible. The question asked is not about Christianity -- why are you attempting to make it about Christianity artificially?

  • @MisterDyslexo Low expectations? Oh, like David king of Israel who wrote much of the Psalms and led Israel thru countless victories while getting bullied by savage nations? Like Solomon who built the Temple and under whose reign came the golden age of Israel and authored Proverbs and Ecclesiastes? I agree religion is a bad thing which is why I'm a christian - I follow only the Bible. Quoting Bible verses per se doesn't make a good leader but knowledge of it is wisdom.

  • @MisterDyslexo "....Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." Zechariah 4:6. God's power is magnified when we are low and weak. Moses was not a man of eloquence but God used him and spoke mighty words thru him sending great signs that even the powerful pharaoh could not resist God's command. I hope you find the hope that I have in Jesus. It's not in any organised religion nor their churches. It's in the Bible. For starters, why not read Romans?

  • @MisterDyslexo funny how it says in the lastdays people will become lovers of themselvs rather then lovers of god...i find it funny how that seems to be our generation or the fact that the bible prediced ww1 and nobody cears or the fact that it says there will be wars and talks of wars and earthquakes at on place arfter another and pestialce and people will be throwing gold in the streets meaning the ecomany will fall to the crapper

  • Why are they even being asked this question?!?

"no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States" <---from Article vi of the constitution

  • what kind of fucking question was that? i live on a third world country and not even on our presidential debates we involve religion with politics, the USA is doomed not because of religion, but because its people is too fucking stupid to realize all the harm their anti-secular government has done.

  • @91lilfrozone23 I know it's so sad and China will take over soon. That's why I'm studying Mandarin and Cantonese and building my allies.

  • @darkchibicosmos

i admire you, i was going to learn mandarin but decided to learn french + other language instead (it takes a really long time to learn mandarin)

    i hope this doesn't back-fires me xD

  • @91lilfrozone23 I was a little overwhelmed at first but those Pimsleur CDs REALLY help. And i put them on my mp3 player so i can listen wherever I go. I also have a friend who speaks it so it helps to practice. I studied french in middle school and german in College. Learning a language can be a fun experience. But it's okay whatever you decide. I admire those who learn Russian. It's awesome!

  • @Sizerian Good for you!

  • @LOGICandREAS0N

    God didn't write the bible...

  • @yafb317 Nope, cause there is no god

  • the one Hillary said is a phantom verse. Am i right?

  • fuck the bible

  • why is this at a debate. We should pick our presidents based on their political beliefs and policies, not their religious views. Honestly, there are a lot of people in congress who aren't even christians. There's even 2 muslims

  • A lot of Christians use the excuse that we aren't supposed to understand the whole bible. My question to them is: "then why would a god have written it in the first place?"

Most of the 10 commandments aren't even laws...

Morality DOES NOT come from the bible

The universe isn't even close to perfect.

This world is filled with pain and suffering. Half the population is starving...

Most Christians don't even read their bible..hypocrites

  • I WISH one of them had the balls to tell the truth and say that, actually, the Bible is not a particular inspiration to them. One day soon, brothers and sisters, one day soon, one of these ass-kissing vote-whores will reckon it's a winner to say, "Meh, Bible shmible. Bite me."

  • @USERNAMEfieldempty only when young people start fucking votin! gosh!

  • I would never vote for any politician who can or does vote from the bible, I like my politicians to look to science and facts not a book of fables

  • they asked verse... not sermon on the mount... they can't name one or references a verse by book chapter and verse

  • It's just absurd! In a debate havin' a question like this one is at least offensive.

    Only in America...

  • Naming verses from a fictional book , functioning as credential to the highest public office in the US. mindbogling.

  • what a bigoted question....candidates should not even be allowed to disclose their religion .. .. who the f cares what someone's religion is .

  • These kind of questions should not be asked in debates

  • how about Jesus wept these godless bafoons

  • why the fuck would you have a favorite verse from a disgusting fake lying gross book.

  • My favorites are

    1) Isaiah 45:7 "I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

    2) 1 Timothy 2:12 "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. She must be quiet."

    3) 1 Peter 2:18 "Slaves, be subject to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and equitable but also to those who are perverse."

But there are so many excellent verses it's hard to choose.

  • @oneNonBeliever You beat me to it man.

  • @oneNonBeliever Don't forget about stoning your children!

  • @oneNonBeliever I love you.

  • @FooDanger lol.

  • @oneNonBeliever You don't even know what the Bible's position is on slavery.

  • @flameboy1236 It's very easy to figure out. In the old testament, passages like Leviticus 25:44-46 and Exodus 21:2-11 give explicit laws for how the Hebrews were to buy and sell slaves (including their own daughters because women were objects of possession). After several wars God commanded he also commanded they take their women (sometimes they were slaughtered, sometimes kept). They were listed along with livestock again as possessions. Slaves could be beaten severely, as ...

  • @flameboy1236

(cont1) ...they could get up after a couple days (Exodus 21:20-21). They could be beaten to where they lost their vision, but not their life. The NT didn't give such laws of how to own slaves, but it still upheld the ownership of slaves. "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ (Ephesians 6:5). Or 1 Timothy 6:1-2 instructs slaves how to act towards their Christian slave owners. Since this ...

  • @oneNonBeliever You're viewing slavery from a negative and worldy perspective. In ancient Israel, if a man/woman couldn't afford to live and pay off his expenses, then someone could take him/her as a slave for 7 years (Exodus 21:2). While in those 6 years, their master can teach him/her how to be obedient and responsible. The Bible tells us we can beat our slave not by anger but by discipline.

  • @oneNonBeliever (pt 2) Once the 6 years are done, the slaveowner must set his slave free with some money. If the slave doesn't want to leave his master then he can stay with him/her for life, and he/she'll take care of him/her. This is the Biblical definition of slavery.

  • @flameboy1236 So, it's okay to beat a slave within an inch of their life as long as it's "discipline." Got it. Hey flame why don't I discipline you?

I'm sorry, I don't buy the "slavery was different then" argument. It's plain that fathers could sell their daughters into slavery, and the owner could then "know" her. Nor does that address the fact women were treated and purchased (or slaughtered) like property, at god's direction.

There is nothing new under the sun.

  • @flameboy1236

... Secondly, the Year of Jubilee concept you are talking about only extended to Hebrews owning Hebrews, but no such stipulation was made for slaves from other nations.

  • Comment removed

  • @oneNonBeliever Is that from the old or new testament?

(I'm an atheist, so i'm just wondering)

  • Well it is weird they didn't actually name verses or that who said "Sermon on the Moutain" talked like it was ONE verse and not quite a few with a remark like "It's more than a verse but all of those verses are the ebst for me", but the only lame moment was Kuchnik (someone I kinda respect) using the prayer of St. Francis, I assume of Assissi, even if he was not there was no St. Francis before the final Bible text was defined, I think the name didn't even exist. Not in the Bible Denni. Oops

  • The Sermon on the Mount?? That's where Jesus spews the most illogical nonsense!

  • sounds like good ole joe "blow me" biden is worried about the pharisees at the end..maybe he's surrounded by them.

  • If everybody lived like God wants us too we would live in a much better world.

  • @BUDx2 Yes.. being obedient to authority and own your wife and slave as property. Much better world.

  • @redz285 Im not trying to be a rude I respect your opinion but the Old Testament was before the birth of christ thats why you see so many immoral things because they didnt know the wrong they were doing thats why the new testament has better morals and lessons buy hey I respect your opinion :)

  • @BUDx2 , it's not the actions of the people, It's the things god told his people to do. God set the price on slaves, forced women to marry their rapists, commanded genocide and stoning of children and other things that are morally vile. Many believers try to justify these things by convincing themselves that was just the god of the old testament. But, is god not "the same yesterday today and forever?" How can the all-powerful author of morality, command immorality from his followers?

  • @BUDx2 ...I respect your oppinion as well, but even more I respect the way in which you presented it. The Old Testament is dictated by Gods rule is it not? God does TERRIBLE things to people in the old testament, but even so.... There are MANY things we would deem immoral, by todays standards, in the New Testament as well... 1 Peter 2:18 on slavery, the many instances that require women to submit to their husbands, and the many cases of animal sacrifice...

  • show me a perverted catholic and I will show you 4 Mass murdering Atheist ....

  • @TheJasonDR - show me 10 atheists who mass murdered, and I'll show you thousands of Christians who killed millions of innocent people. Clearly you don't know your history.

  • @ZealandGamerXD ..... yeah Christianity the religion that stresses being good .....is the danger yeah ....that makes sense ...id like to see some evidence that god doesn't exist lol

  • @TheJasonDR There is no evidence that he does exist. Burden of proof is on religion brah.

  • @Phalanx3800 what ever ....its a dark day when the president is an Atheist ....even a catholic ...

  • @TheJasonDR Already had a Catholic President moron.

  • @Phalanx3800 I know and he turned out to be everything we would expect from a catholic lol..... a Pervert

  • @TheJasonDR Rich people fuck around. It's what they do brah. Clinton fucked around, various non-catholic Congressman from various denominations have been caught in all kinds of devious sexual behaviors.

    Go figure eh?

  • @TheJasonDR - "Christianity the religion that stresses being good" - you mean like kill your disobedient child? And "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection"? And "I suffer not a woman to teach"? And Jesus saying "He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me"? And "that servant... shall be beaten with many stripes"? And kill anyone working on the Sabbath? "Being good" you say? Please.

  • @gekritzl wow....interesting ..I never expected someone to actually believe christians to be violent and unstable.....im not even a christian but Id rather live in a Christian country than an Atheist one .....(Soviet Russia, China, North Korea) ....not pretty

  • @ZealandGamerXD first of all Hitler was an Atheist ....he also believed in aliens ....and these people also enforced anti religious laws .....it doesn't matter why they did it ... if they were evangelical Christians do you think they would have commuted all those atrocities ....no of course not...china is an atheist country now and ....the govt enforces that ...could you imagine if there was a christian revolution in china

  • @TheJasonDR - Hitler was not an atheist. Ever read Mein Kampf? He said he truly believed he was doing God's work.

God and Hitler worked together, how cool.

  • @ZealandGamerXD Mao....Hitler ... Kim jon il ....Stalin .... a few asians that I cannot think of right now like that north Vietnamese leader ......these Atheist have accumulated more atrocities than any thing this world has ever seen ....

  • @TheJasonDR - "these Atheist [sic] have accumulated more atrocities than any thing this world has ever seen"

They had modern technology and weapons. The Church, for 1500 years, murdered millions and millions of innocent men, women, and children, and they only had fire, torture, swords, etc. Christianity WAS and IS the problem.

  • @ZealandGamerXD would it be better if he were to be an atheist..... do you have any idea what the implication would be if a president was an atheist....an ideology responsible for more deaths and horror than anything this world has ever seen

  • Ezekiel 23:19-20

19 Yet she became more and more promiscuous as she recalled the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in Egypt. 20 There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

  • The inability to name a bible verse is a good thing. I don't want politicians that are still reading nursery rhymes. You're supposed to leave stories about angels, demons, mythological beings, and magic in preschool for 5-year-olds. Big boys and girls should know the difference between real and imaginary.

  • Why would this even matter?

Leave the bible quotes to youf TV sexvangelists.

  • Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live!1 KILL WITCHES 2008

  • John 3:16 stone cold Steve Austin... That Is all

  • Is that important? I would've said John 3:16 and the only reason I know that one is due to Stone Cold Steve Austin.

  • it shouldn't matter if they can quote the bible or not

  • Things Sarah Palin can't recite: A supreme court decision she disagrees with, Something she has read, etc...

  • not one even quoted a bible verse LOL..

  • "...no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

  • I love how everyone turns to Deuteronomy and disregards ALL other books of the bible when it comes to quoting it. Please, there are so many verses that are inspiring and well-written all throughout the bible that they deserve at least some credit even by athiests. I love how politically correct our nation has gotten about race and sexual identity but it's still ok to rag on those crazy Christians.

  • "This should be a simple question." Why is this question even being asked? For a secular nation we sure do have some theocratic tendencies.

  • Turns out our government and society is not so different from those we fear in Iran, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and elsewhere. America has strayed so far from the founding fathers vision if the presidential candidates have to go on T.V and score touchdowns for happening to know bible verses. what crap!

  • I'm not a big Obama fan, but I like the man's religious views. I agree a lot with him and his reasons for being a Christian are in a lot of way like mine.

  • um didnt hear one verse..LOL

  • Jeez, are they running for President or Pope???

  • i figure obama's favorite verse is Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s Mat: 22:21

  • Ha! To paraphrase Obama:

"The sermon on the mount, because it shows America's problems are Bush's fault."

  • Wow, only Clinton and Edwards actually quoted a Bible verse. The Sermon on the Mount is not a Bible verse.

  • Their favorite Bible verse? Sure there are some verses worth quoting but if you look hard enough in Mein Kampf Im sure you may find one you like too. Or why don't they ask them what was your favorite bedtime story as a child? Obama Noah's Ark Clinton Jonah and the big fish Biden Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden

  • sermon on the mt. : not a verse *cough*chapter*cough*

  • Wish someone didn't know one haha oh well maybe in 2016

  • Turns out most of them are Athiests.

  • @MrClanzO Thank god for that. The last thing we need is more George Bushs and Sarah Palins of the World. When was ignorance made a virtue?

  • @freethinker143 Good question.

  • @freethinker143 when was being bigoted toward other world views made a virtue? Gain some perspective for spaghetti monster's sake.

  • @freethinker143 - Right on. I guess I'll try to answer your question, When was ignorance made a virtue? I'd say 391 CE, when emperor Theodosius I declared Christianity the only "legitimate" religion, and 1500 years of mass murder by Christians followed.

  • @MrClanzO I agree, although many of them do seems to be rather stuipd they must have a certain level of education and intelligence to reach that position. It therefore seems obvious that many of them would be atheist. They, like so many around the world, are just not able to admit it....

  • @MrClanzO Thank God for that!!..... lol

  • I can't believe they ask that kind of questions...

  • So pathetic that this was even asked. "There shall be no religious test for office" - wait, what???

  • This one is a doosey too:

"Thou who shall believe in me will forever be a great CUNT"

  • The sermon on the mount's not a Bible verse, lol. That's a bunch of VERSES. What a politic thing to say. Why'd we elect this phony transparent POS Obama??

  • Here's a bible verse

Happy is he who takes your babies and dashes them into the ground in pieces!-Psalm 137:9

  • New York Spectator. August 23, 1831

The court of common pleas of Chester county, rejected a witness who declared his disbelief in the existence of God. The presiding judge remarked that he had not before been aware that there was a man living who did not believe in the existence of God; that this belief constituted the sanction of all testimony in a court of justice: and that he knew of no cause in a Christian country where a witness had been permitted to testify without such belief. that's USA

  • Hey Mr President, The sermon on the mount was preached by Jesus not John. Why would he lie about something he knows nothing about, atleast just say you don't know any lol.

  • OH MY GOD , Obama thinks John preached the Sermon on the Mount. We are going to have a earth Quack in the morning or a bad storm some where in this country. I can picture Jesus picking up his finger right now.

  • You need to watch that again. When the President refers to John, he is obviously refering to Sen. John Edwards who spoke just before he did.

Obama said "John talked about what we've lost", right after Sen. John Edwards talked about... you guessed it: what we've lost in the country in terms of direction, identity, etc.

  • o I didn't catch that, O well obama still fails and is a horrible person.

  • 1963- Bible removed from public schools... and look what pattern has emerged!

  • Yeah, let's mix religion and politics! That can't go wrong!

What's your favourite Lord of the Rings verse would have been as equally appropriate. What a waste of every candidate's time.

  • Actually, they only spent about 2 minutes on this question for all 8 candidates. AND the reason they ask questions like this is because they are trying to see how rounded these guys are. they don't have to be religious but to not know -anything- about the religion are country is founded would be absurd. So its more a test for them than anything. They wasted no time nor did they mix religion with politics.

  • BTW our country was not founded on Christianity. The majority of the founding fathers were Deists, not Christian. And also the Treaty of Tripoli which was confirmed unanimously by Congress and signed into law by President and founding father John Adams stated explicitly that "the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion".

Look it up, don't take my word for it.
