The original hummer is fantastic offroad. You just can't kill it. Heavy torsens, a big truck engine with admittedly low overall HP but a lot of low-end torque, a huge steel body that can take punishment like a boss...you can't beat it.
But unless your daily commute is through Tikrit, it's totally impractical. The porsche is too. Last time they made something really good offroad, it had an 88mm gun on it!
The H2 only gets like 8 mpg. Unless Hummer makes an electric Hummer or bio-diesel I will never like them. I love the planet way more, since its the thing keeping me alive!
The Cayenne is more like a crossover, where the H2 is SUV. and its not a good comparison i'm afraid. It would've been better to see the Cayenne VS. Jeep SRT8
This guy does not know a thing about a hummer becuase every show he favors the stupid tiny cars which a poshe would get destroyed in two or more ways off road1 and crash2
Hummer h2 IS NOT FOR OFF-RAOD!!! it isn't even a hummer. You want the best off road vehicle in the world then do this test again with a hummer h1 diesel.
@JamesMichaelBillings Type illegal wheeling and watch some hummer h1 videos. Then show me a land rover that can do all of that and still have the towing capability, durability and prestige of an h1.
look at the price difference between the H1 and H2, and then the H2 is more luxurious, more comfortable, and seats 6 people rather the H1's 4 people. you are just a jealous motherfucker
@extremepsychogamer How am i jealous? That doesn't even make any sense. The h1 is built for off-road the h2 just isn't. Its just a re-bodied suburban. Why else did hummer go out of business, obviously i wasn't the only one thinking this. They discontinued the best off-road vehicle on the planet. Jealous, thats just stupid.
you're jealous 'cause you can't afford an H2, so just like any idiot who tries to bash the H2 , you say it's based on a tahoe, then you say that the H1 is better. It's obvious to everyone that the H1 is the better offroader because its based on the humvee, and is more beefed up. The H2 might be based on a tahoe, but that doesn't mean its a tahoe. and BTW, have you ever driven an H2, or even an H1? pretty sure you haven't, so shut the fuck up and stop trying to be a smartass
@extremepsychogamer What is wrong with you? First of all, if im talking about a 150,00 dollar hummer h1, don't you think i could afford some cheap h2? No i am not jealous of the h2, i think its a pretty ok SUV but doesn't deserve to wear the hummer name, same with the h3. Why did you even start talking to me? I never said anything bad about the h2, i just said its not a real hummer and is not for off-road. CONT-
@Inklebonker1 CONT- Pretty sure i haven't what? no i don't own an h1 but id buy one in a heartbeat if its mpg was better than 10 (im being sarcastic just incase you want to criticize me on that as-whel) this is the best example of an eavesdropper. You enter the conversation without knowing what the heck everyone else is talking about and make yourself sound like an idiot.
Did you ever drive an h2? It is superb offroad. People who criticize it for being based on a tahoe have never driven one. I used to think they were shit, but I test drove one and fell in love. In fact, I bought one and I absolutely love it. The h1 cannot be compared to an h2, because the h2 is more of a luxury oriented car. And btw, for 150000 $ id go buy a used lambo or ferrari, as im sure anyone else who isnt a redneck would
@extremepsychogamer All i was saying in my initial comment is basically that you cannot compare an h1 h2. I have absolutely nothing against the civilian hummer line including the h2s and h3s as civilian SUVs. But as far as offraoding prowess they are not as good as a jeep, land rover, fj, etc. this is mainly because they are so heavy. I was upset when hummer went offline because i wanted to purchase an HX if it were to come out on the market. CONT-
@Inklebonker1 CONT- If i had the money to buy one i would definitely buy an h1 and replace the engine with a bio-diesel so i don't have to take constant gas station trips. After learning so much about the h1 i definitely agree with its price. It wasn't intended for civilian use, it was at the request of a certain California governor that the h1 be offered to the public. And the only difference from the h1 and HMMWV is the removal of a gun turret.
@extremepsychogamer The word population is so smart that they don't buy hummers and the brand go to the history also the interior is like any interior from USA cheap, bad made.
yeah its all opinions when it comes down to cars. I'd bet that most people dont buy hummers either because they're too big or because they can't afford them. I drive an 08 H2, and the interior is excellent (it has the updated interior similar to the 07+ Caddy Escalade)
@extremepsychogamer People stopped buying when gasoline prices began to rise, was a fashionable vehicle for a few years but the interior is also pretty bad way, too much plastic, sit in a Land Rover those are good interiors a lot of leather in the dash, wood also the windows are big not rectangular and small. Used you can find good prices.
before i got my H2, i tried some range rovers. they are very luxurious and good looking, but they just dont feel as tough and intimidating as the hummer. the cheap interior problem can be solved by getting a 2008+ Hummer.
Hummer intimidating? Try driving one in Europe and people will only dislike you. Not because people who drive those things are often morons (no offence), but because.. you don't need a car like that. Its completely pointless. Nobody who's got an H2 uses it offroad. Its not intimidating at all.
first of all, I don't live in europe so i don't give two fucks about what people over there think about me, second of all, I live in canada and it snows quite a lot here (when it snows in my town, it snows about 10-15 cm) so I NEED a car like this to get around, and thirdly, i DO offroad in my car in the summer time, and it is pretty good offroad.
But the H2 doesn't seam like an offroader. More like a "bling" car? (As TopGear tested) Maybe I should've said "most people" who have a Hummer don't use if offroad. I gotta watch my extremes. But most people who drives massive cars like these drive around on city streets which makes them completely pointless.
People say the H2 is no good offroad because it shares the same platform with the Chevrolet tahoe/GMC Yukon, but when you examine the specs carefully, it is nowhere close to a tahoe. The H2 is based on a 2500 chassis which is a lot more rugged, and has a torquier engine. They arent as good as a hummer H1 or a humvee, but they are very good (I would say just under a range rover). Personally I only drive it once or twice a week, otherwise I always drive my wife's dodge caravan lol
well first of all @extremepsychogamer likes his H2 and you cannot change his mind
second thing is I live in Canada too, I'm not sure if in europe RangeRovers work properly when its snowing, but in here I always see people with RRs stuck in the snow, while Hummers working without any problem, they are both V8, so gas mileage is about the same I guess, depends on how you drive them, btw with a huge different in price the most stupid decision is to buy a RangeRover
Oh I never tried to change his mind. Its just that to me, the H2 and the Porsche are off-roaders... designed for the city.. In other words: useless. Appearantly not?
@extremepsychogamer You are the exact reason the Jeep community thinks Hummer owners are the laughing stock of the offroad world. You're not concerned in actual offroading, you merely want to "look" like you can offroad which usually is a direct result of your little man complex and a whole crap tonne of over compensation. The H2 is complete shit, and the H3 is a nominally better piece of shit. None of this is intended to offend you, but just realize that looking tough doesn't equate toughness.
you dont have to bash hummer owners if you dont like hummers. You don't have to be an ass and say hummer drivers are stupid etc etc. Its my choice what car I drive. For me, the H2 offroads pretty good. If you like Jeep, then good for you. I personally like Jeeps (I used to have a Jeep TJ about 9 years ago), but I like my H2 more as it has more luxuries, and its a pussy magnet.
@extremepsychogamer Where did I say anything about stupidity? The point of the statement was simply that by trying to "look cool" you only prove that you're overcompensating as a result of a huge laundry list of daddy issues. Even more evident in your horrible attempt at pawning your over sized turd of a vehicle off as a "pussy magnet." When you say luxuries, what do you mean? Leather seats and heated mirrors? My god, you should try sitting in a real luxury automobile, you'd be shocked.
@cairnsguy22 I digress though and simply ask that you do the offroad community a favor and stop trying to act like you're part of it. If you choose to look like a douche bag as you stroll down the highway looking for "pussy" whilst wearing your Ed hardy t-shirt just after having a fresh application of your fake tan then that's your business, but don't contaminate the name and reputation the offroad community has created for itself. You are exactly why Johnson Valley is under risk of closure.
and by the way, your gay ass jeep does 14 mpg, 3 mpg more than my h2, so shut the fuck up with your fuel comments. btw, please do me a favour and get off youtube, because youtube would be so much better without poor fags like you
@extremepsychogamer What the hell did I saw about fuel? Oh wait, nothing. Go cry more to someone who gives two shits kiddo. Until then, I suggest getting a job so you might one day afford the piece of shit you worship. Oh wait, your balls might need to drop before you can legally have a job. Damn these child labor laws!
bitch, I have a job. Its actually YOU who has no job and no life, because if you did have a job/life, you wouldn't keep replying back with meaningless essays. Now, please, go back to sucking dicks on the street before you get b
@extremepsychogamer lmao coming from the immature butt hurt little bitch. I suggest looking at my videos. I forgot that jobless little pricks living in their mother's basements can afford to build a C5 Z06 that makes over 1000 horse at the crank. It also seemed to have slipped my mind the jobless are capable of affording a BMW M6 and pouring 15 grand into their Jeep, but clearly your infinite wisdom is beyond that. Durr durr.
Says the fag who plays shitty ps2 racing games. Prove that your (if its even yours, probably your dads) Z06 does 1000 Hp, better yet, prove that you have an M6. 15 K in that POS jeep? are you out of your mind? that shit costed you 500$ from the junk yard. I understand that you have nothing better to do than being a pissed off virgin, sitting in your whore mother's crackhouse in bumfuck. So keep posting shit. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go live MY LIFE.
@extremepsychogamer ahahah which must explain why you continually reply. And prove? Let's see. 1.) dad is retired and on a fixed income, he couldn't afford a Z06 if he wanted. 2.) does the 76mm turbo under the hood not speak for itself? Dit Dee Durr. 3.) A 2006 Wrangler with the same miles as a 2006 Hummer H2.... wait for it.... holds a much higher resale value than the H2. The same goes for an H3. Get your facts straight. And by the way, never owned a PS2 in my life. Try again, genius.
dude dont even bother replying back to @extremepsychogamer, he's just an idiot who has no life. Its idiots like this guy who give Hummers a bad name. Nice corvette BTW
@MadMajd1583 Thanks. I've actually recently sold it due to changing tastes. Some of the money has gone into supercharging the M6 as well as a stoptech big brake kit and some other goodies, and the rest has gone into the start of a Factory Five MKIV Cobra project.... As for captain DB, I'm fully aware. I just like to stir the shit around and feed the troll. It's so much more fun allowing people to make complete asses of themselves lol
nice. I've always wanted to get an M6, but its a bit impractical for my needs, and in my country (Canada) it snows for 10 months. Ended up buying an H2 because I got a really good deal on it. If only they made an AWD M6.
@MadMajd1583 haha no kiddin. I used to live in Denver so I can relate to lack of traction as a direct result of ice. And I'm sure a 4wd SUV comes in great handy. I work for Cisco oddly enough, and was in Saskatchewan and Alberta this past Summer supervising a few jobs out there for a number of weeks. Loved Calgary but SK was a bit.... how do I say, desolate? The M6 is a nice toy, but it too will be going before long. Too many vehicles atm and my primary financial focus currently is a house.
@extremepsychogamer Actually, upon reading some of your commentary on places like expensivecars.ca etc. I've determined that you are in fact a complete fucking moron. "a H2 is designed more for rock crawling....." bwahahahaha. I highly doubt you even own an H2, let alone used to own a TJ. The way you type leads me to believe you're nothing bot a snot nosed know-it-all who has this superiority complex about his Hummer that he doesn't actually own. Do me a favor, take a shit and fall back in it.
dude holy shit stop writing novels to make yourself feel better because they are making you more stupid than you already are. if you hate hummers, then go fuck yourself. alright? fucking bitchass hoe
@extremepsychogamer pwahahaha you don't even fucking own one. Butt hurt much? And call the kettle black more you tart. "novels." You mean like the retarded blabbering of the three replies you just sent? Also, nowhere did I say I hate Hummers. I said I hate the douchebags that drive them, and you've done nothing but prove my point, excepting the fact that you only WISH you drove one. Unfortunately for now the only ride you have is your father. Carry on.
@agibbs98 heres a tip if you dont know how to win back an argument, just shut the fuck up...youre not solving anything with that pathetic comeback...take care buddy..
@agibbs98 im not on anybodies "side" you dickhead, i like both german and american cars...im just trolling and pls explain to me how does buying a car has anything to do with how big your dick gets?
im sure you dont have one, cause your just coming up with dumb conclusions..does your dick get insanely huge when you get in a cayenne? no i doubt you even have one..
@agibbs98 Fun to drive? Towing power? Hauling? There are many reasons but the Hummer H3 is basically a mid-size SUV. In USA there are mostly trucks on the road and H3 is considered "normal sized" for the most part here. Other people say otherwise. But I can see how to H2 is large and oversized where that stereotype may be true...haha
@agibbs98 Ok, but the only one I have heard "Bigger the truck, smaller the cock. Can't really apply too much to H3 because it really isn't that big of a truck. A Ford F-150 is bigger than an H3.
@agibbs98 What do you have against Hummer? I have a Hummer H3 and it's the best car I've ever had. It's not under powered from my perspective at all even with the i5. I've brought it off road, did just fine. So, what exactly is wrong with Hummer?
The Hummer may be based on the tahoe, but anyday, it would outclimb, outfjiord, out mud any german SUV. Even so I am very impressed with the capabilities of the Cayenne. After all it's built by a company that has survived on 911s for 50 years
@JMCporsche nope you are wrong the volkswagen touareg has diff locks and ride hight control and the hummer has none of those the hummer is too big which means 3 mpg while the touareg gets 30 the hummer is a joke especially when its called a heavy duty off roader coz the only thing that helps the hummer go is the tires if the touareg had the tires it would make mincemeat of the hummer and yet without the big chunky tires it still does...hummers are useless
@gadgetguy4000 I suggest getting your facts straight. Although I admit Hummers don't have fuel economy in their vocabulary, they do have full time 4X4, rear locking diff, skid plate, and comes with an optional ride height control, more than can be said for the touareg. The Hummer may be heavy, but it handles it's weight well off road. Don't underestimate it's abilities until you've driven one.
@JMCporsche oh i have riddin in one and yes 3mpg average is not so good but the touareg has full locking diffs standard with ride hight control and skid plate as well and yes the hummer is heavier so it would have more traction but the touareg is a batter all rounder its fuel effiecent good off road and properly quick. If you want a dedictaed off roader get a range rover!
@gadgetguy4000 I will agree with you on that. But my personal favorite 4X4 is the raw simplicity of a Jeep Wrangler. No frills, just ultimate off-roading
What happens in Europe stays in Europe... Morons... Come to America and only old damp people drive these stupids cars. They don't even know how to drive... They crash backing up at less than 1 mph... Hahahah
Technically, it is stone age, optically, it looks like a shoe box and on the road you wish you would have bought a decent car, just like Porsche.
It is like the jet plane, the rocket and many other things only claimed to be a domain of Americans: All this including the car was invented in Germany, and it is best in Germany.
So take your stone age shoe boxes, offending our eyes and sense engineering and stay in your country, wasting petrol.
I've had an h2, and I would get it again. Despite its reliability issues, and fuel economy. They are right when they market it as "like nothing else". The notoriety you get on the road, you just simply don't get in a porsche or range rover, those things are a dime a dozen around here. It took turns like a dream, and allowed us to cram 10 people in it on the way down to florida. (Quite comfortably actually...)
Guys, the Hummer inicially came from designs of Humvees witch are, obviuosly, made for off-road action, no shit their better as offroaders but I live in Germany so screw it, id go with the Cayenne.
The H2 is the result of castrating an H1. The two are actually not related at all except by the name.
If you have a look at videos of H1's you'll quickly realize that you would destroy a family car doing even the most minor of treks the H1's do.. hence the reason the army uses them instead of Porsche Cayenne's. (grin)
@PaleHearse principal is still the same, but I wasnt particularly talking about other Hummer variations, such as H2 and H3, I mentioned that the Hummer,(being the H1) is car that is well designed for offroad because its structure is similar the the Humvee´s.
Well it sounds that we are in agreement then. If your trying to compare the H1 as an expeditionary vehicle to ANY other household car.. your wasting your time. The H1's filled a (strange) niche market for a car that you could drive off the lot and into a river up to it's windshield.
The H2 and beyond were the result of idiots buying the H1 and then fitting it with chrome and a whiz-bang stereo ... and totally missing the f-ing pint of the car.
for me it has been and always be porsche...i like the high end range rovers (very pretty) but the hummer...they just seem early 2000's to me...and im seeing less and less of them on the road all the time..i live in a city where there is alot of snow and very bad roads and very agressive drivers..i need a car that will handle all that with ease...how one choses this is thiers but if it were up to me the porsche would be a childhood dream discoverd!
this brit is a liar! hummers are NOT tahoes under the body, only the basic frame is. but it has additional cross members, underbody protection, 35 inch tires, traction control, locking rear differential, its own 4wd system, better approach and departure angles and more ground clearance. all things that the tahoe does not have. and the h2 destroys the cayenne offroad. but the cayenne twin turbo destroys the hummer in a race so it depends what you want.
@goodbusiness12 well the H1 sure is better off road. but that's it, the cayenne eats H2s and H3s for breakfast. not that I like the cayenne, I think porsche should stick to makin real sportscars and not thar ridiculous suv crap.
@brendonlpiche where did you get that knowledge? did you read my first comment? the h2 has so many different parts than the suburban that calling it a suburban is the most ignorant statement ive ever heard. and the cayenne can no compare to the h2 in any way offroad. shit, the cayenne could barely beat a suburban, its got no ground clearance.
@goodbusiness12 well the h2 has a offroad look and everything, but thats it. the H1 is a real offroader, but the H2s and -3s are just roadcars that look a bit like the H1.
the cayenne on the other hand does not look like an offroader at all, but it does come with a lot of stuff that makes it offroad capable.
@berhorn to be honest, the cayenne doesnt come with one offroad accessory that the h2 does not. im not even sure the cayenne has a locking rear diff like the h2
@goodbusiness12 ...the H2 is just a tahoe underneath and it has all the same compentes. The cayenne is better off road then any hummer. The Cayenne won the Transyberria Rally 5 times consecutively and the hummer none..im not even sure if it was even entered in the rally!
@sexyboi142 there are too many parts on the hummer that the tahoe does not have for me to list here. and how could the hummer win the rally if it wasnt entered?
@goodbusiness12 omg the H2 is just a TAHOE underneath and some are the parts are just beefier. It's on the same platform, has the same transmission, the same transfer case, the same EVERYTHING! and GM probably didn't enter it because it isn't off road worthy, and its a POS that will get stuck in a matter of minutes.
@sexyboi142 the tahoe doesnt have a rear diff locker does it? how about the heavy duty underbody protection? 36 inch stock tires? no you stupid cunt it does not
@goodbusiness12 "Heavy duty underbody protection"!? So now a skid plate with "H2" qualifies as "heavy duty underbody prtection"!!? I'm sure the chevy tahoe has a rear deff locker when equipped with 4WD and the Z71 should have it also. And 36in tires? Big whoop so what if the tahoe doesnt have them, get a lift and im sure you can put some 36" on it.
@sexyboi142 you obviously havent looked at an h2.the h2 skid plate in the front isnt the only skid plate. there are also additional crossmembers in the frame. less overhang in the front and back make a huge difference and give an advantage to the h2 over the tahoe, or the cayenne for that matter.
@goodbusiness12 Ok for the last time. The H2 is not better off road than the Cayenne, it's not better on road either. Hell it isn't better than the Cayenne AT ANYTHING!
@sexyboi142 i bet you have never driven a hummer. it doesnt matter, the h2 is better than the cayenne in almost every aspect of offroading. more ground clearance, better approach, break over, and departure angles, slighly more suspension travel. an yeah the cayenne is better on road but who cares? sports cars will destroy either one of these suvs on the road. if you want performance on the road get a corvette.
@sexyboi142 i was just gonna say this isnt going anywhere you dont like the hummer and i do, it really is a love it or hate it car. not everyone in the world is going to agree on one thing and im glad
@sexyboi142 Lifting Tahoe to fit 35' will not make it H2 since H2 has completely different frame. All it will do - screw up Tahoe center of gravity. H2 was only sold by GM. It was designed and manufactured by AM General or in simple wordl by far superior to Tahoe off-road. Not a big fan of H2 myself and will agree that Cayenne is better on road but it's literally a joke in comparison to H2 off-road. It would not even be able to make it though Hummer dealer test range.
@HMCS1997 dude the H2 is a fuckin parts bin truck!!! It has a partial frame from a LIGHT DUTY pickup and several parts from its tahoe counter part. The Cayenne is just a VW Touereg. BOTH are great off raod and usually showing out Hummers and keeping up with jeeps. The driver also makes or breaks what a car can actually do. The cayenne off raod learning course is probably alot worse than any H2 course. Lets just agree that these 2 trucks are in 2 very different leagues (spell check)
@sexyboi142 It's doesn't matter what went into H2 design. What does matter it'll literally piss off-road on both Cayenne & Touareg. You can be the best off-road driver there is but you can only do so much with Cayenne pathetic off-road specs. Your 'keeping up with Jeeps' is nothing but a wishful thinking - how do you keep up with Jeep or H2 with Cayenne 27 degree approach angle? I bet if you ever actually been off-road you would realize that nobody actually uses Cayenne for such adventure.
@HMCS1997 i off road in my jeep all the time i've done a little off roading with my mom's cayenne and it made me jeep feel like a toy. The cayenne's suspension was designed for off roading in mind. You can disengage the antiroll bar for more flex and ground clearence. The anitlock brakes and traction control also kick in when needed to to ensure it never gets stuck. i've seen h2's off road. They aent the best. I've seen wranglers pull out H2s. The H2 looks the part but isnt good enough
@sexyboi142 Cayenne lack: frame; ground clearance; approach, descent, brakeover angles. T-case doesn't split power 50/50 (like real 4x4). Traction control works in reactionary mode. Engine torque peaks at rather high rpm, gearing more suited for speed. Tires have nothing to do with off-road. Seems that you have hard time to comprehend the whole idea of Cayenne - fast SUV. Fact that your mom Cayenne 'made your Jeep look like a toy' just another proof that off-roading is not your strong side.
@HMCS1997 you are aware that the Porsche Cayenne won the Transsyberia rally 5 times (5 years) in a row right? You do know what the cars in that rally have to go through right? If not go look it up. The cayenne does have its cons when it comes to off roading but what SUV doesn't? I'm kinda tired of argueing so lets agree to disagree
@sexyboi142 Would not be the first one here to tell you - it's irrelevant, not to mention that cars participating in such events are heavily modified! Soviet Moskvitch-408 (4x2) won Paris-Dakar. So did Mini Cooper and number of 4x2 cars. Does it make them 'off-road' vehicles - It doesn't! I suggest to find out what 'Rally' means before posting another nonsense. I also suggest to learn what approach angle etc.. means. Then you realize that Cayenne is a JOKE when it comes to real off-road.
Sounds like theres a bunch of American haters in here... Im sorry but when it comes to going off-road, I MEAN REALLY off road - The Hummer is what I'd be in. You dont look for "class" in a off road vehicle, you look for ruggedness, how high it sits off the ground, etc. The Hummer is something you take off road and beat the shit out of... Its American so its cheaper to maintain. Cheerio you bunch of Proper talking, tea and strumpet eating bastards. And go to the damn dentist already...
i drove in a hummer and a range rover and there is a reason why the range rover is more expensive. A hummer is cool in the dessert and off road and stuff BUT it havnt got the same perfomance and interior as the range rover. the hummers interior is crap the seats are really hard and uncomfortable its loud and it just havnt got the same finishes as the range rover. And it feels like you are sitting in a big box when ur inside it. it is just a box on wheels tbh. I wud deffo choose the range rover
top gear dont know how to compare cars in the same class

@extremepsychogamer How am i jealous? That doesn't even make any sense. The h1 is built for off-road the h2 just isn't. Its just a re-bodied suburban. Why else did hummer go out of business, obviously i wasn't the only one thinking this. They discontinued the best off-road vehicle on the planet. Jealous, thats just stupid.
Inklebonker1 3 months ago
@Inklebonker1
you're jealous 'cause you can't afford an H2, so just like any idiot who tries to bash the H2 , you say it's based on a tahoe, then you say that the H1 is better. It's obvious to everyone that the H1 is the better offroader because its based on the humvee, and is more beefed up. The H2 might be based on a tahoe, but that doesn't mean its a tahoe. and BTW, have you ever driven an H2, or even an H1? pretty sure you haven't, so shut the fuck up and stop trying to be a smartass
extremepsychogamer 3 months ago
@extremepsychogamer What is wrong with you? First of all, if im talking about a 150,00 dollar hummer h1, don't you think i could afford some cheap h2? No i am not jealous of the h2, i think its a pretty ok SUV but doesn't deserve to wear the hummer name, same with the h3. Why did you even start talking to me? I never said anything bad about the h2, i just said its not a real hummer and is not for off-road. CONT-
Inklebonker1 3 months ago
@Inklebonker1 CONT- Pretty sure i haven't what? no i don't own an h1 but id buy one in a heartbeat if its mpg was better than 10 (im being sarcastic just incase you want to criticize me on that as-whel) this is the best example of an eavesdropper. You enter the conversation without knowing what the heck everyone else is talking about and make yourself sound like an idiot.
Inklebonker1 3 months ago
@Inklebonker1
And btw, for 150000 $ id go buy a used lambo or ferrari, as im sure anyone else who isnt a redneck would
extremepsychogamer 3 months ago
@extremepsychogamer All i was saying in my initial comment is basically that you cannot compare an h1 h2. I have absolutely nothing against the civilian hummer line including the h2s and h3s as civilian SUVs. But as far as offraoding prowess they are not as good as a jeep, land rover, fj, etc. this is mainly because they are so heavy. I was upset when hummer went offline because i wanted to purchase an HX if it were to come out on the market. CONT-
Inklebonker1 3 months ago
@Inklebonker1 CONT- If i had the money to buy one i would definitely buy an h1 and replace the engine with a bio-diesel so i don't have to take constant gas station trips. After learning so much about the h1 i definitely agree with its price. It wasn't intended for civilian use, it was at the request of a certain California governor that the h1 be offered to the public. And the only difference from the h1 and HMMWV is the removal of a gun turret.
Inklebonker1 3 months ago
@extremepsychogamer The word population is so smart that they don't buy hummers and the brand go to the history also the interior is like any interior from USA cheap, bad made.
xicot86 3 months ago
@xicot86
yeah its all opinions when it comes down to cars. I'd bet that most people dont buy hummers either because they're too big or because they can't afford them. I drive an 08 H2, and the interior is excellent (it has the updated interior similar to the 07+ Caddy Escalade)
extremepsychogamer 3 months ago
@extremepsychogamer People stopped buying when gasoline prices began to rise, was a fashionable vehicle for a few years but the interior is also pretty bad way, too much plastic, sit in a Land Rover those are good interiors a lot of leather in the dash, wood also the windows are big not rectangular and small. Used you can find good prices.
xicot86 3 months ago
@xicot86
before i got my H2, i tried some range rovers. they are very luxurious and good looking, but they just dont feel as tough and intimidating as the hummer. the cheap interior problem can be solved by getting a 2008+ Hummer.

@extremepsychogamer
Hummer intimidating? Try driving one in Europe and people will only dislike you. Not because people who drive those things are often morons (no offence), but because.. you don't need a car like that. Its completely pointless. Nobody who's got an H2 uses it offroad. Its not intimidating at all.
EliteGhost001 1 month ago
@EliteGhost001
first of all, I don't live in europe so i don't give two fucks about what people over there think about me, second of all, I live in canada and it snows quite a lot here (when it snows in my town, it snows about 10-15 cm) so I NEED a car like this to get around, and thirdly, i DO offroad in my car in the summer time, and it is pretty good offroad.
extremepsychogamer 1 month ago
@extremepsychogamer
Oh I dunno if its any good offroad
But the H2 doesn't seam like an offroader. More like a "bling" car? (As TopGear tested) Maybe I should've said "most people" who have a Hummer don't use if offroad. I gotta watch my extremes. But most people who drives massive cars like these drive around on city streets which makes them completely pointless.
EliteGhost001 1 month ago
@EliteGhost001
Personally I only drive it once or twice a week, otherwise I always drive my wife's dodge caravan lol
extremepsychogamer 1 month ago
@EliteGhost001
well first of all @extremepsychogamer likes his H2 and you cannot change his mind
second thing is I live in Canada too, I'm not sure if in europe RangeRovers work properly when its snowing, but in here I always see people with RRs stuck in the snow, while Hummers working without any problem, they are both V8, so gas mileage is about the same I guess, depends on how you drive them, btw with a huge different in price the most stupid decision is to buy a RangeRover
UrFavDudeOnUtube 1 month ago
@UrFavDudeOnUtube

None of this is intended to offend you, but just realize that looking tough doesn't equate toughness.
cairnsguy22 2 weeks ago
@cairnsguy22
you dont have to bash hummer owners if you dont like hummers. You don't have to be an ass and say hummer drivers are stupid etc etc. Its my choice what car I drive. For me, the H2 offroads pretty good. If you like Jeep, then good for you. I personally like Jeeps (I used to have a Jeep TJ about 9 years ago), but I like my H2 more as it has more luxuries, and its a pussy magnet.
extremepsychogamer 2 weeks ago
@extremepsychogamer Where did I say anything about stupidity? The point of the statement was simply that by trying to "look cool" you only prove that you're overcompensating as a result of a huge laundry list of daddy issues. Even more evident in your horrible attempt at pawning your over sized turd of a vehicle off as a "pussy magnet." When you say luxuries, what do you mean? Leather seats and heated mirrors? My god, you should try sitting in a real luxury automobile, you'd be shocked.
cairnsguy22 2 weeks ago
@cairnsguy22 I digress though and simply ask that you do the offroad community a favor and stop trying to act like you're part of it. If you choose to look like a douche bag as you stroll down the highway looking for "pussy" whilst wearing your Ed hardy t-shirt just after having a fresh application of your fake tan then that's your business, but don't contaminate the name and reputation the offroad community has created for itself. You are exactly why Johnson Valley is under risk of closure.

@extremepsychogamer ahahah which must explain why you continually reply. And prove? A 2006 Wrangler with the same miles as a 2006 Hummer H2.... wait for it.... holds a much higher resale value than the H2. The same goes for an H3. Get your facts straight. And by the way, never owned a PS2 in my life. Try again, genius.

@MadMajd1583 Thanks. I've actually recently sold it due to changing tastes. As for captain DB, I'm fully aware. I just like to stir the shit around and feed the troll. It's so much more fun allowing people to make complete asses of themselves lol
cairnsguy22 6 days ago
@cairnsguy22
nice. I've always wanted to get an M6, but its a bit impractical for my needs, and in my country (Canada) it snows for 10 months. Ended up buying an H2 because I got a really good deal on it. If only they made an AWD M6.
MadMajd1583 6 days ago
@MadMajd1583 haha no kiddin. I used to live in Denver so I can relate to lack of traction as a direct result of ice. And I'm sure a 4wd SUV comes in great handy. I work for Cisco oddly enough, and was in Saskatchewan and Alberta this past Summer supervising a few jobs out there for a number of weeks. Loved Calgary but SK was a bit.... how do I say, desolate? The M6 is a nice toy, but it too will be going before long. Too many vehicles atm and my primary financial focus currently is a house.

TeamUSAR 4 months ago
@agibbs98 Ok, but the only one I have heard "Bigger the truck, smaller the cock. Can't really apply too much to H3 because it really isn't that big of a truck. A Ford F-150 is bigger than an H3.
TeamUSAR 4 months ago
@agibbs98 What do you have against Hummer? I have a Hummer H3 and it's the best car I've ever had. It's not under powered from my perspective at all even with the i5. I've brought it off road, did just fine. So, what exactly is wrong with Hummer?

The Hummer may be based on the tahoe, but anyday, it would outclimb, outfjiord, out mud any german SUV. Even so I am very impressed with the capabilities of the Cayenne. After all it's built by a company that has survived on 911s for 50 years
JMCporsche 4 months ago
@JMCporsche nope you are wrong the volkswagen touareg has diff locks and ride hight control and the hummer has none of those the hummer is too big which means 3 mpg while the touareg gets 30 the hummer is a joke especially when its called a heavy duty off roader coz the only thing that helps the hummer go is the tires if the touareg had the tires it would make mincemeat of the hummer and yet without the big chunky tires it still does...hummers are useless
gadgetguy4000 4 months ago
@gadgetguy4000 I suggest getting your facts straight. Although I admit Hummers don't have fuel economy in their vocabulary, they do have full time 4X4, rear locking diff, skid plate, and comes with an optional ride height control, more than can be said for the touareg. The Hummer may be heavy, but it handles it's weight well off road. Don't underestimate it's abilities until you've driven one.
JMCporsche 4 months ago
@JMCporsche oh i have riddin in one and yes 3mpg average is not so good but the touareg has full locking diffs standard with ride hight control and skid plate as well and yes the hummer is heavier so it would have more traction but the touareg is a batter all rounder its fuel effiecent good off road and properly quick. If you want a dedictaed off roader get a range rover!
gadgetguy4000 4 months ago
@gadgetguy4000 I will agree with you on that. But my personal favorite 4X4 is the raw simplicity of a Jeep Wrangler. No frills, just ultimate off-roading

American car manufacture is simply a nightmere:
Technically, it is stone age, optically, it looks like a shoe box and on the road you wish you would have bought a decent car, just like Porsche.
It is like the jet plane, the rocket and many other things only claimed to be a domain of Americans: All this including the car was invented in Germany, and it is best in Germany.
So take your stone age shoe boxes, offending our eyes and sense engineering and stay in your country, wasting petrol.

I've had an h2, and I would get it again. Despite its reliability issues, and fuel economy. They are right when they market it as "like nothing else". Guys, the Hummer inicially came from designs of Humvees witch are, obviuosly, made for off-road action, no shit their better as offroaders but I live in Germany so screw it, id go with the Cayenne.
JohnRibery 1 year ago
@JohnRibery
(grin)
PaleHearse 1 year ago
@PaleHearse principal is still the same, but I wasnt particularly talking about other Hummer variations, such as H2 and H3, I mentioned that the Hummer,(being the H1) is car that is well designed for offroad because its structure is similar the the Humvee´s.
JohnRibery 1 year ago
@JohnRibery
Well it sounds that we are in agreement then. If your trying to compare the H1 as an expeditionary vehicle to ANY other household car.. your wasting your time. The H1's filled a (strange) niche market for a car that you could drive off the lot and into a river up to it's windshield.
The H2 and beyond were the result of idiots buying the H1 and then fitting it with chrome and a whiz-bang stereo ... and totally missing the f-ing pint of the car.

this brit is a liar! hummers are NOT tahoes under the body, only the basic frame is. but it has additional cross members, underbody protection, 35 inch tires, traction control, locking rear differential, its own 4wd system, better approach and departure angles and more ground clearance. all things that the tahoe does not have. and the h2 destroys the cayenne offroad. but the cayenne twin turbo destroys the hummer in a race so it depends what you want.
goodbusiness12 1 year ago 4
@goodbusiness12 well the H1 sure is better off road. but that's it, the cayenne eats H2s and H3s for breakfast. not that I like the cayenne, I think porsche should stick to makin real sportscars and not thar ridiculous suv crap.

@goodbusiness12 well the h2 has a offroad look and everything, but thats it. the H1 is a real offroader, but the H2s and -3s are just roadcars that look a bit like the H1.
the cayenne on the other hand does not look like an offroader at all, but it does come with a lot of stuff that makes it offroad capable.
berhorn 1 year ago
@berhorn to be honest, the cayenne doesnt come with one offroad accessory that the h2 does not. im not even sure the cayenne has a locking rear diff like the h2
goodbusiness12 1 year ago
@berhorn The h3 look nothing like an H1....neither one of those do. H1 was one of a kind.
The18Jake 1 year ago
@goodbusiness12 ...the H2 is just a tahoe underneath and it has all the same compentes. The cayenne is better off road then any hummer. The Cayenne won the Transyberria Rally 5 times consecutively and the hummer none..im not even sure if it was even entered in the rally!
sexyboi142 11 months ago
@sexyboi142 there are too many parts on the hummer that the tahoe does not have for me to list here. and how could the hummer win the rally if it wasnt entered?
goodbusiness12 11 months ago
@goodbusiness12 omg the H2 is just a TAHOE underneath and some are the parts are just beefier. It's on the same platform, has the same transmission, the same transfer case, the same EVERYTHING! and GM probably didn't enter it because it isn't off road worthy, and its a POS that will get stuck in a matter of minutes.
sexyboi142 11 months ago
@sexyboi142 the tahoe doesnt have a rear diff locker does it? how about the heavy duty underbody protection? 36 inch stock tires? no you stupid cunt it does not
goodbusiness12 11 months ago
@goodbusiness12 "Heavy duty underbody protection"!? So now a skid plate with "H2" qualifies as "heavy duty underbody prtection"!!? I'm sure the chevy tahoe has a rear deff locker when equipped with 4WD and the Z71 should have it also. And 36in tires? Big whoop so what if the tahoe doesnt have them, get a lift and im sure you can put some 36" on it.
sexyboi142 11 months ago
@sexyboi142 you obviously havent looked at an h2.the h2 skid plate in the front isnt the only skid plate. there are also additional crossmembers in the frame. less overhang in the front and back make a huge difference and give an advantage to the h2 over the tahoe, or the cayenne for that matter.
goodbusiness12 11 months ago
@goodbusiness12 Ok for the last time. The H2 is not better off road than the Cayenne, it's not better on road either. Hell it isn't better than the Cayenne AT ANYTHING!
sexyboi142 11 months ago
@sexyboi142 i bet you have never driven a hummer. it doesnt matter, the h2 is better than the cayenne in almost every aspect of offroading. more ground clearance, better approach, break over, and departure angles, slighly more suspension travel. an yeah the cayenne is better on road but who cares? sports cars will destroy either one of these suvs on the road. if you want performance on the road get a corvette.
goodbusiness12 11 months ago

I'm kinda tired of argueing so lets agree to disagree
sexyboi142 5 months ago
@sexyboi142 Would not be the first one here to tell you - it's irrelevant, not to mention that cars participating in such events are heavily modified! Soviet Moskvitch-408 (4x2) won Paris-Dakar. So did Mini Cooper and number of 4x2 cars. Does it make them 'off-road' vehicles - It doesn't! I suggest to find out what 'Rally' means before posting another nonsense. I also suggest to learn what approach angle etc.. means. Then you realize that Cayenne is a JOKE when it comes to real off-road.

I don't understand why people would buy a fake hummer. H1 is the real deal. H2 and H3 are made by some other civilian-auto makers.
It's just like the American Army, looking all strong and technological; so people will admire them or want to be rappers and American-Wannabe's.
Hope the Americans stay with Jeep and H1's. They Pwn other off-roaders.
I prefer the Porsche anytime though ;)

I wud deffo choose the range rover
vhenny100 1 year ago
i drove in both of the cars already
h2 with 400hp in the desert (holy mother was that awesome)
and with a cayenne s...
the h2 is the typical american thing... loud and has some cool looks (which i love) but from performance... meh
the 2011 porsche cayenne look a bit better :P

The Cayenne is awesome but I hate it as hell because of its looks. I wish it looked a lot less "Porschisch" =(
