  • @andy1may Thanks.

  • and thanks to all the navy photomates for being there.

  • Thanks for the memories. VRC-30 Det 3 USS Constellation Westpac 97 and 99

  • @Juiceflight You bet.

  • Thanks for sharing videos like this one. I'm fascinated by the flight deck operations

  • @qatdude No problem.

  • Could be the camera angle, though I doubt it, when I pause at the right second and see just how close the Shooter and the Green Shirt were to that prop at its closest point. I'd say around five or six feet. If truly the case, that's a little too close for me. Always thought it'd be a cool job, even when I was in the Navy, but not if things are that close. Bravo Zulu to all fightdeck crews. Thank you for helping keep us safe.

  • @rackasaurus It is pretty close. However, the shooter (me) has to stand there so I can see the winds and crosswind indicator on the inside of the greenshirt's hatch. The original reason for the suspend was a crosswind out of limit for the COD. It happened twice, but the first suspend isn't on film.

You'll notice I lean back quite a bit and duck down too. you can feel the prop whizzing past your face on catapult three. As long as the aircraft stays on the cat path, you're good.

  • lol i was looking at the wrong greyhound

  • What do all the hand signals mean?

  • cool!
