Kentucky was never a part of the Confederacy. The Confederate army did occupy Frankfort for a brief time in the fall of 1862 but were driven out by the Union army. (PS Im not saying Kentucky isn't a good state or its not apart of the south, but it was never a part of the Confederacy.)
