Very innovative indeed however your unit is not the "model" that you claim it is. In fact, we've been marketing and selling our ePole hybrid wind & solar powered LED light pole featuring the GUS vertical axis wind turbine in Canada and the U.S. for more that 2 years. Several light poles already have been installed -- check out our video about the 25 units that we installed last year in a sub-division of Chicago. Want to know more? go to ePole.ca or call Nick at EfstonScience.
These guys' "innovative" solution looks like a late-to-the-party, inefficient and unattractive copy of the EfstonScience ePole. With less moving parts, smaller footprint, silent turbine and only a single solar panel, the ePole is also completely self-powered (i.e. off-grid), and is up and running in several commercial and residential projects vs. one makeshift testing ground. One would hope CNN would do a bit more fact-checking before running a story like this.
