Excuse me but, how old is this recording? How much time does it take to get that good and be recognized like Django? How many years we'll need to wait until someone half as good shows up?
How long you think your little game/movie will last?
In my opinion, some things should be known because they are brilliant or cults rather than because they are used in games, movies or other things sometimes stupid.
@Andarhoax i know right... -_- i mean i must admit...im 17 and i found out about django from bioshock but i never really considered it good cause of bioshock...this guy was amazing and like i rly admire him more than the great artists today...so yeah
@kokazp You're absolutely right. But I find annoying when peoples say "Oh you're playing Mafia's song!" when I play Django with my guitar. "This is not the Mafia's Theme. It's DJANGO REINHARDT, god dammit."
Do you understand what I'm meaning ? Sorry for my English but I'm Belgian n I speak French.
@Andarhoax Fair enough, but awesome things should be known thanks to video games, rather than being ignored. (Plus, Bisoshock is not one of the stupid video games. I would suggest you try it)
@Andarhoax Well that's true but you can't generalize like that. I know what you mean, but i'm not even into videogames and i've stumbled upon Mafia and although i was already familiar with the old sweet jazz\swing\blues..i was completly unaware of Django. But when i listen to Django i'm not thinking "wow mafia's song" or something like that. I just think that i was lucky to finally find this. But is very nice when brillant music is used to complete other brilliant thing (in this case, a game)..
@Andarhoax Isn't it more important that people get to know django's music in the first place? It doesn't matter where, when or how the learn about him :)
@Andarhoax They'll see that it wasn't made for the game if they look deeper into Mr Reinhardt's work. To me the games are a good way of letting young people know about his music.
@ruben12121993 hmm... I don't think so. I'm only 19 and I've been listening to Django Reinhardt for around 5 years! And my ex gf Lola is 16 and she likes it too.
@SoadOwnsUrFace I think that it isn't comparable. Django was Jazz. Jimi was almost Rock. So why compare things that do not compare? My opinion : Django was a Jazz genie. And Jimi was a Rock genie. No one beats the other it's just different.
just great

@Andarhoax well that's true. That's a disrespect for the artist. guess they're wasting an oportunity to culturize themselves.

@Andarhoax what the heck is "stupid young people is stupid", i'm 15 and Django Reinhardt is one of my idols...

@Andarhoax Nah, it's good that people find out about this type of music. Doesn't matter how.
You could argue the reason the music is in those movies/games whatever is because the music IS great.

and i think you would find that hendrix is up there WITH django !
guitar19904 4 months ago
@TheDocnshe No comparison. Django beats Hendrix fifty times over. With a small baton constructed from owl feathers and twine.
