the last cup finals were the most watched since the wings won in 02 but you have to figure in the circumstance. a rematch to start with and the nhl is marketing crosby like he is going to retire in 2 years. vs. covers like 2 games a week and the coverage of teams other than pittsburgh in my are blow. i used to love the pens and detroit but my displeasure with the way crosby plays the game strays me to being a full on detroit fan. i have nothing but respect for gonchar and guerin though.

The fans of Pittsburgh sports are truly lucky to have people like this who surround our teams with the best talent, scouting, and front office. I couldn't see myself ever cheering for any other team. Because there is no other fans I'd ever want to cheer with besides Pittsburgh fans. They are the greatest people who will fight and cheer for their team, good times and in bad.
They were in the bottom 10 in attendance figures from 2002-06. During the 2003-04 season, they were last in the league for attendance. However, you are right. Lemieux is a great owner/player and pretty much saved the franchise from relocation twice (once as an owner, once as a player).
I know. I was at many games where it felt like I was the only one there. Those were awful days (but, in all fairness, the team wasn't that great and had an awful ownership before Mario) but it's nice to see the team return to the team I always knew it was - a champion.
There is no doubt this franchise, whether you like it or mot, have had a series of world-class players: Lemieux, Jagr, Croby, Malkin, to name the top four.

Wow, so the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup. Congratulations! However, isn't it really weird how a city can have good sports teams, but have lousy unemployment rates? I know people who refuse to leave Pittsburgh who know damn well that side of Pennsylvania will never give them a job. You can watch the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins anywhere in the country while having a decent job. I don't even know why I'm asking Pittsburgh people to get a tiny bit smarter: too much to ask for.

Ron Francis and Larry Murphy...two of the most underrated players of all-time, and yet both are still in the HOF. That really says something.
I've never been a big hockey fan but I loved watching the 90's Penguins teams. They really should've won more than just the 2 Stanley Cups with that incredible nucleus of talent. And man, during that 94 lockout season, if Lemieux had been healthy...might as well have handed them #3.
for most of my life i've been trying to find a team that was considered my "favourite" team. I was bouncing back and forth between a whole bunch of teams. Then last year i realized how much i loved the the palyers and how much i missed the great Mario Lemieux. I loved the way they played. and from then till now Pittsburgh has been my favourite team. You cannot find such great owners like Dan Rooney, Mario Lemieux anymore.
The fans of Pittsburgh sports are truly lucky to have people like this who surround our teams with the best talent, scouting, and front office. I couldn't see myself ever cheering for any other team. Because there is no other fans I'd ever want to cheer with besides Pittsburgh fans. They are the greatest people who will fight and cheer for their team, good times and in bad.

They were in the bottom 10 in attendance figures from 2002-06. During the 2003-04 season, they were last in the league for attendance. However, you are right. Lemieux is a great owner/player and pretty much saved the franchise from relocation twice (once as an owner, once as a player).

I know. I was at many games where it felt like I was the only one there. Those were awful days (but, in all fairness, the team wasn't that great and had an awful ownership before Mario) but it's nice to see the team return to the team I always knew it was - a champion.

Wow, so the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup. Congratulations! However, isn't it really weird how a city can have good sports teams, but have lousy unemployment rates? I know people who refuse to leave Pittsburgh who know damn well that side of Pennsylvania will never give them a job. You can watch the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins anywhere in the country while having a decent job. I don't even know why I'm asking Pittsburgh people to get a tiny bit smarter: too much to ask for.

Well, not sure why you think Pittsburgh has lousy unemployment rates...considering the city has the lowest unemployment rate in the State and is well below the national average. The city has also reached a balanced budget this year. There's a reason the G20 Summit will be held in Pittsburgh in September ya know. It's not like we're California or Detroit or something. First off, I'm a chick. Second, the Pens fans were there, and I know because my Dad had season tickets when he was still alive, so I was there to see the arena filled many times. But you're just speculating aren't you, because you're angry the Pens won. It's ok, the sting will wear off shortly and you can go back to focusing on whatever it is kids do in Filthadelphia this time of year. Best of luck to you with that!

Ron Francis and Larry Murphy...two of the most underrated players of all-time, and yet both are still in the HOF. That really says something.
I've never been a big hockey fan but I loved watching the 90's Penguins teams. They really should've won more than just the 2 Stanley Cups with that incredible nucleus of talent. And man, during that 94 lockout season, if Lemieux had been healthy...might as well have handed them #3.

for most of my life i've been trying to find a team that was considered my "favourite" team. I was bouncing back and forth between a whole bunch of teams. Then last year i realized how much i loved the the palyers and how much i missed the great Mario Lemieux. I loved the way they played. and from then till now Pittsburgh has been my favourite team. I've answered to many critism and i support them with all my heart. LETS GO PENS WE WANT CUP! but more importantly, thanks for being my fav team! :)

Well,Crosby and Malkin both won scoring championships so I put them near the top.Don't forget Ron Stackhouse,a very under-rated defenceman in the 70's,Barraso should get honorable mention too. as well as Kevin Stevhens. Now that my Habs are out,I'll be rooting for the Penguins.I think they'll beat Washington.Fluery is a great goalie and I think the Caps goaltending isn't near as good as the Pens.If the Pens powerplay is firing,it'll be over in 5

Jagr's 68 should be retired by the Pens. Jagr has only Mario to look up at in terms of the best all time in franchise history. Geno and Sid might surpass him one day, but no one should deny how good Jags was during his time in Pittsburgh. Doing so shows nothing but ignorance on your part.
