  • i would like to kill the world while im listening this music :D

  • Evangelion is more interesting than the bible. ****

  • @comicszoneuniverse

Hmm. Funny, it just made me appreciate it all the more. The Bible that is.

  • @HmmNeedsMoarPron thats right, if the Bible would not exist even evangelion would not exist. :)

  • Aww, they cut out the instrumental that begins the true Ode to Joy segment. I am dissapoint.

  • Joy all creatures drink

    At the breasts of nature;

    All good, all bad

    Follow her trail of roses.

Kisses she gave us, and wine,

    A friend, proved in death;

Pleasure was given to the worm,

And the cherub stands before God.

    Before God!

  • watch?v=nZJ1Tgf4JL8 =)

  • no matter how much you like rap or rock, the only way for me for me to consider you inhuman is if you loathe classical music.

  • Lovely, lovely Ludwig Van.

  • OH gosh I love this xD

  • Sitting here with a pipe and doing my assignment. This piece is rather helping me to relax.

  • "You're late, shinji."

  • @RYEUD "You betrayed me! You betrayed the trust that I placed in you! You betrayed me just like my father did!"

  • -.-'

  • So is this just the Eva OST from the series or an orchestration of the songs used? And where did you find the music?

  • I am listening just this track for more than 20 times today. Just can't get enough of it!

  • i'm sorry for skpeak in spanish...

  • "3 people dislike this" I don't understand 3 people

  • I fucking love this symphony, eva or not

  • 'Adam, that from which we came. Must one who was born from Adam return to Adam? Even though it would destroy man?'

  • 'The song is good, singing brings joy and revitilizes the soul, i think this song is the highest achievment of the Lilim culture'.

    Don't you agree?

  • I don't know if it's the highest achievment, but it's fucking amazing!!

  • @Stuntmanthe2nd I completly agree with you (and Kaworu)! This song is one of the few things that i can never be mad at!

  • 6:20 !

  • Es mi melodia favorita de Beethoven

  • Beethoven and a good book and I go to my happy place.

  • This is just....awesome.

This song was written as a response to the poem "to joy" by Friedrich Schiller, and Beethoven was so inspired by it, he was motivated to compose this masterpiece. He even said he was going to make something that would match the beauty of the poem, if it was even possible.

    Again, this is just great

  • Yeah, I think this version of the song is my favorite.

  • 5:03 WOW sounds so powerful, like the total human will and it's capacity. it's like a cry, or like a sound of victory:)

  • One of the things I thank Evangelion the most, is that it made me gain a love for classical music. While I've been expanding my music library, this track in particular was, and still is, my favourite.

Perfect when dysfunctional teenagers piloting giant bio-robots are stabbing themselves to death.

  • And perfect for when a angelic human is screwing around with you, claiming to be your friend. :O

  • Ditto, Beethoven is now my favorite!!!

  • wow that great music!

  • one of my favourites

  • This song goes well with any fighting in the background, so long as it is chaotic, brutal and has A LOT of explosions. Heh heh heh...

  • I pretty much have found all of the Evangelion OSTs ripped/encoded in FLAC on a site & the Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0 Special Edition OST done the same way on another site

    good stuff

  • care to show us where we can get it?

  • I will get a video together where you can get the flac rips, though a word of warning

the first three tracks of the J.S. Bach disc of the "Evangelion Classic" set of material won't want to burn

I will make a seperate rip of "Evangelion Classic" for you guys to download

  • I didn't know you could copy someone else's work, even though they were dead for more than a 100 years. Too bad, we didn't have copyright laws.

  • unbelievable

  • BRILLIANT !

  • This song worked brilliantly with the last 'proper' episode of NGE. Without the visual however, the song sounds different, not bad, but different. Thx for the upload.

  • Beethoven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great song!!!...

  • Whew, that violin and cello duet at 5:05 is pretty rough. The contrast of such the lovely song and the scratchy soloist with a strong rumbling cello came on a bit strong.

Rest of the piece was wonderful though.

  • el capitulo de kaworu O_O perfecto, vollkommen magnificent!

  • its a beaultiful

  • evangelion?

  • NGE use of this song is masterful. Both masterpieces! Wonderful art is all I can say.

  • Beautiful is an understatement to the wonderful work Beethoven accomplished.

  • masterful

  • As Stephen Roe said, "This symphony is one of the highest achievements of man, ranking alongside Shakespeare's Hamlet and King Lear."

  • Without Beethoven, "Evangelion" wouldn't be the masterpiece that it is. :)

  • I am tottaly agree with you.

  • well, without Beethoven, let's say, whiched happened in our parallel universe, someone better might had replaced his position(popularity rather)

  • Well, they used this Song as Themesong for an amazing Character and I couldn't think of a better song for him XD

  • You know, it's quite amusing when people refer to a piece of classical music as "song", especially when that piece of music(Beethoven's symphony, in this case) is anything but a song.

  • What's the proper term? (Never heard any proper term, or that one ever existed, and now I'm curious).

  • The proper term is symphony, a piece of music in sonata form that is written for orchestra. If the sonata is written for piano, it would be called piano sonata. For example, Beethoven wrote 9 symphonies and 32 piano sonatas. He also wrote songs(poems set to music), but they are properly known as lieder(German), or art songs. Classical music is very different from everyday pop music, because technically it is written in strict forms(e.g. sonata form, theme and variations, rondo, etc.)

  • Amazing, someone on YouTube that actually knows what they're talking about. Well now I've seen everything.

  • WOW I really like people tahat know about the classical music XD

  • Technically classical music demands a great deal of ingenuity, inventiveness and skills to write and perform. People usually regard classical music as yesterday's hit, but this is generally a misconception. Because even in the old days, classical music was largely accessible only to the elite classes in society (nobles, monarchies, rich people and intellegentsia etc.) It was only in the middle of 19th century that classical music gradually gained audience among the middle class.

  • A timeless artist composes music that transcends generations, genres, and classes: yet feeble criticism of a stranger's pleasure is the basis of your amusement. Insecure rants, spawned in jealousy, are ugly to any ear.

  • Who is jealous here? I agree with you that timeless music transcends generations and genres. Western art music (as I prefer to call it)has evolved over centuries and had been an elite music form (whether you like the term or not, it's not up to you) since the classical period. It is an art, and to fully appreciate a work of art you need at least a modicum of understanding of the basic vocabulary and background information in it.

  • Any serious listener would want to invest some time and energy in this knowledge acquisition process to make his or her musical journey more intellectually informed and rewarding. Most ppl would agree with me on that.

  • Very true as is true for all genres. I recently have been attempting to become more knowledge about hip-hop and find this to be especially true. If you understand some of the culture and background you appreciate the music that much more.

Perhaps not the best example, but the most current and easiest to make a comparison with.

  • magnific ^^!!

  • This is great..... just beautiful

  • Beautiful!

  • cooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll?
